RE: MT4 vs LX2e
if you like the buggy style, but want mt4's legendary durability why not get the Thunder Tiger EB4 g3? They are almost the same...

RE: Please help! Motor broken!
Hey so this is both on and off topic, in a hard crash like this could the magnets on strator lose significant magnetism like when you hit a magnet with a hammer? sounds possible to me... I've just never experienced loss of power from anything but overheating and melting the apoxy that holds on the magnets.

RE: New to R/C have a Stampede problem
That diff is working properly. Gear diffs like the one on the slash and stampede arn't super precise and can be really finicky. If you not trying to get absolute perfection out of your ride I wouldn't worry about correcting it.

RE: Ofna LX2e From Start 2 Finish
Yep tacon 2000kv motor and HW 150amp. I just can't toss $300 into a castle or tekin system or Orion sytem. I'm not trying to squeeze every ohm of performance out of it anyway... What diff oil are you going to run in your center diff after the grease that comes in it "expires" so to speak.

RE: What to do with $400?
Its made of Textured ABS, idk why, its seems quite brittle but I like the flat black color that won't ever look scratched... its the previous owners body. So far i like the buggy. much more sturdy than the Zd racing truggy. So far i've spent $90 on a roller, traded that roller for the EB4 with servo and radio/reciever with two full sets of good wheels and tires on the RCU market. $90 for a reasonably high quality buggy with legendary durability. I like.

RE: What to do with $400?
Ok so 18t is a no go. The buggy has mod 1 pinion and spur gears, and 15t is the largest pinion you can fit with the stock spur. the spur is a 50t, however I can swap it out with an rc8 spur which come in 46 and 48t variants. With 15 to 50t the top speed on 6s is right at 60 mph. The 2000kv motor should sping that without a sweat right?

RE: What to do with $400?
What Kv rating would best suit the needs of this hefty buggy? i'm new to 1/8 stuff. i want cool temps and a top end around the 60mph range. I'm also going to race at club level with it and see if I like the class. I know the buggy has a 50t spur and I know the largest pinion you can fit with thie stock motor mount is a 20t. so 2000kv on 5s with a 17t pinion? Temps and acceleration are more important to me than topspeed. Advice appreciated.

RE: Thunder tiger phoenix st II for newbie
I can't say anything about the phoenix, but the brushed evader was my first truck and 8 years later i still enjoy driving it. The origional had some transmission issues, but from what I hear on the Evader EXT 2 those problems are nonexsistent. I vote evader.

RE: What to do with $400?
The slash has a Vxl 3s system and thats plenty. The electronics specified are for the thunder tiger EB4 g3 1/8 buggy no way i'm dropping the vxl in that. that sytem runs way too hot in just about anything it would explode in an 1/8 buggy.

Those electronics were for my Eb4 G3 1/8 buggy (I forgot to specify) . but I agree that 1/8 electronics are overkill in SC trucks.

RE: What to do with $400?
Well everyone it has been a while but I traded my Zd truggy roller for a thunder tiger Eb4 g3. I also have aquired a almost new slash 4x4 that i traded an Hpi e-savage for on the RCU market. I plan to put a hobby wing 150am esc in it with either the castle 2650kv motor (for use on 4s), or the Tacon 2000kv for use on 5s. what are your thoughts?

RE: What to do with $400?
Well I figured at $90 it was worth a shot. and Thought I could make it somthing special with the right electronics and better diffs but I guess we shall see. It will either become a long term project or a short lived pain in the neck. Like you said foxy I posted in the only other thread and from what I read the axle carriers and the diffs were real problems. I wonder if I could fit losi 8eight bevel gears into this truggy's housing, or maybe a whole diff swap with one of hpi's savage diffs. I know that Zd's diff gear is 38t. the only alternative I found at that size are the diff gears from the hpi Rs4. everything else is like 43t.
