RE: Yellow Aircraft F-16C EDF Build
Great videos! I have had some success using silver solder to fix broken nipples on some air cylinders. You may want to consider that to fix the nipple on your fill valve. Awesome job! Jeff

Mine has live hinges. I think I would have preferred the Robart style hinges.

Nick, I have a set of the hinges that Thomas refers to. I am not using mine. If you want them, they are yours for the asking. Jeff

RE: Another...Yellow Twin F-18 build
Nick, I'll have to dig up some pics, but I used a BVM carbon fiber control horn and machined it down to shape. I placed some hardwood blocks in the control surface with enough space between them so that the horn would fit. Then, hysol the horns in. Jeff

I've had a little opportunity to work on my F-18 between business trips. Here is my attempt to make the area behind the splitter plates a little more scale. Sorry for the pic quality, taken with my BlackBerry. Hope everyone is plodding on with thier F-18's. Jeff

RE: Yellow Aircraft F-16c build
Tim, Nice work! I used a very similar method of hinging the rudders on my Yellow F-18 twin. It is a slight variation on the technique demonstrated by Mr. Matt here in this thread: http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_762215/anchors_762215/mpage_1/key_scale%252Chidden%252Chinge%252Ctutorial/anchor/tm.htm#762215 A little easier than the method outlined by Yellow, in my opinion. Keep it coming....you are inspiring me to dust off the F-18 and get off my a$$..... Again, keep it up....looks great! Thanks! Jeff

RE: Yellow Aircraft F-16c build
The nose gear door may require a bit of work with a heat gun to make it fit properly. Otherwise, follow the instructions. Yellow has done a great job at making this a fairly simple and straightforward build. Post some pics of your progress. Thanks! Jeff

RE: Another...Yellow Twin F-18 build
Thomas, That is a trick I picked up from someone else at some point. You access the wires from the engine compartment hatch. I would have done the same setup with the main hatch if I had found a suitable place to run the wires in the fuse. Instead, ugly hatch latches..... I'll post a couple of more pics of it later. Jeff

RE: Another...Yellow Twin F-18 build
It looks like the weather is going to cooperate this weekend, so I'm going to get the flying surfaces sanded and ready for glass. I've gone back and re-hinged the rudders, as I was never happy with the throw I had in them before. Now that I have re-done them, I have all the rudder throw I could possibly want. I have also added the air fill valves and pressure gauges to the accessory hatch. I will also locate the I/O board, ECU, and switches here. Back to sanding........ Jeff

RE: Another...Yellow Twin F-18 build
Guess I'm a bit behind the power curve, just got back to working on my F-18. This weekend, built and installed the equipment trays in th enose, and small hatch. Glassed the stabs, fins, and rudders, and when it warms up, will glass the wings, and get everything primed and sanded. Attached are a few pics. Jeff

Hi, I have the smaller Velox, and mine has the live hinges, and horn slots pre-milled from the factory. Maybe these will help a little. Sorry for poor pic quality, my camera sucks. Jeff

You might want to email Shaun Evans, he is the resident Yellow Aircraft rep. His email is:skyhigh315@cox.net. He may have a manual for the older F-16A. If it will be of any help to you, I have a manual for the newer F-16C I'd be willing to send you. Good luck! Jeff

RE: Yellow Aircraft F/A-18C Twin (Two Engines) KIT Full Build BUILDER'S Thread
Hi Wayne, I am using JR 8411's for ailerons. Haven't decided on flap servo's at the moment, but I usually try to stay away from digitals on flaps. The Jet Tech fuel tanks are made to fit, and hold approx 200 oz. Best regards, Jeff
