RE: X - UAV B17
The battery compartment is under the canopy. It's a tight fit unless you carve out some foam. Great plane, looks wonderful and flies very well but has absolutely NO parts support anywhere so beware before purchasing.

RE: JR stops the sales of 2.4 as of last night for upgrade
Spektrum/JR upgrades seem to be a natural progression in the advancement of their business model. The patents on DSM2 have either come to an end or been so violated as to make them moot and in order to stay an industry leader, something has to happen. In the past, the TX models being replaced have been able to be upgraded and the new models have been backwardly compatible with the late model RXs. I'm relatively certain that such will be the case with the release of DSMX as well with the added benefits that DSM2 equipment will be available at greatly reduced prices which will make them tremendously popular/useful as the DSMX technology offers very little "real world" improvements over DSM2. Think of it as changing insurance companies or upgrading your policy. The benefit may be there, but you pray you'll never need to know or use it. Interestingly that DX10 doesn't seem to be a DSMX radio, although I could be wrong.

RE: Problems with Easytiger Models
I'm always sorry to hear about PPL having problems with Non-Responsive vendors. I'm even more upset when that vendor is one with whom I've dealt, think well of and have recommend to others. My personal experience with ETM and Curtis in particular has always been a good one. He's helped me on several occasions, patiently explaining the mysteries of electric power systems to me a few years ago, making recommendations for powering models I didn't buy from him, and occasionally even selling me good quality goods at a fair price. My personal experience has resulted in quite a few private recommendations. That being the case, I'm very disheartened to hear this horror story and I hope that Curtis realizes his error, does the right thing and corrects this obvious problem.

RE: Banana Hobby
This doesn't seem like brain surgery to me. If it looks like a duck and quacks and every other thing you hear about it says it's a duck, well..... Why bother or take a chance on a company with such a huge following of devoted haters. IME RCrs aren't nasty demanding and vindictive, quite the opposite in fact. It's one of the only hobbies I know of where info is shared so openly and folks take great pleasure in helping each other out. Granted, I've only been doing it for forty some odd years so as a newbie, I might be somewhat naive, but I don't think so. There are plenty of legitimate web-based businesses both in the US and abroad with great customer reps and I just can't imagine that saving ten bucks can begin to compete with that. Just my 2Cs
