RE: Applying vinyl invasion strips
An 80" P47 deserves to be fiber glassed and detailed with panel lines and simulated rivets. Then the entire plane is painted stripes and all. Just my opinion, jmpups

RE: Whats up with kits?
The ARFS have taken over. Less real modelers in the hobby who get satisfaction out of building, and would rather assemble something made in China and go fly. And it's the same reason the suppliers are offering the same to the industry. If you wan't to build you have to go to plans and kit cutters, or cut your own. It's A shame the newer generation won't get to enjoy the hobby the same way the older generation has enjoyed for many years.

If you built A T28 instead of a t26, the stab would have probable stayed in tack.

You don't have any or enough right thrust on the engine. Add a couple of washers on the left side between the engine mount and the firewall. jmpups

RE: Taylorcraft crash
This is A perfect example of ARF'S verses Building you own. If you are A builder you should have checked this attachment before you flew. If you built it yourself ,you might have changed the design before having a mishap. Most of the new people in this hobby have never built a plane and when there is a problem with a design of a ARF or when something is not right, they are not aware of it nor can they correct the problem.

RE: Thinning out epoxy with isopopryl alcohol
The best product I could find to fuel proof aiplane engine areas and firwalls is Zap Finishing Resin. It has a much looser consistancy that brushes on like paint, fills in all the voids and goes alot farther than thinned exopy. Jmpups

RE: Has anyone tried the new PTE36R ?
I just purchassed one for a TBM 80" Val. It looks well made, all polished up. The reviews of the engine were all positive with no complaints. I am not a Chinese mfg fan, but the choices are really getting limited. I was going to use a Zenoah G38 that I have but it would not fit. I needed A rear carb and rear exhaust so the PTE36R fit the bill.JMPUPS

This is the best thread I have ever read. You have made me happy to know, first off that there are new modelers that want to build A kit not an ARF. And secondly to know that you are supporting your local Hobby Shop. This Hobby needs more of You. Thanks, jmpups.

RE: Why Beginners Do Not Want To Join Clubs
If you are flying foam toys, I guess you can fly them anywhere you want. But if you are looking to be in the Hobby of flying RC Aiplanes, learning building and flying safety techniques, and building relationships with fellow Hobbist, then you need to invest in a club. You will get none of these experiences in the back of the school yard.

ESM Val Engine requirements
I recently purchassed the ESM Val. I intended to use a G38, but after seeing the cowl I think it might be too large. The recomended engine requirements on the site show 120 FS, the instruction manual shows 180FS.Any experience suggestions? Thanks jmpups

If you want to keep your planes in the air, stick with Futaba, or Hitec. Enough Chinese Junk.

If you don't want to spend the time to glass and paint, then Ultracote is your best choice. It stretches around curves, and sticks to itself less aggressively. Pay attention to the instructions and maintain the heat of your iron. Good luck, JMPUPS

This is A great idea. I don't know what the percentage is ,but I would guess that 90% of the members on RCU are affiliated with A club as listed on their profile. How about contacting the club officers to help assistance in verifying the the seller as well as the merchandise.
