RE: NEW YORK CITY BASH
Yea it was mostly flat, that big jump isn't there anymore. I think with a few ramps it would be fun. We could try FBF, but it's mostly flat too, and even with the ramps your landing on concrete, at least there you would be landing on grass or dirt

RE: NEW YORK CITY BASH
Sorry I couldn't make it out last weekend, but I created a fb event for this weekend. PM Voxmagna if your not in the group, but its this Sunday at 11.30 at the spot in broad channel. Type in Broad Channel American Park into maps to get the location.

RE: NEW YORK CITY BASH
Ok, 2 thing about there though. 1. I don't think that big jump is there any more, must have got washed away. 2. Bugs. Last 2 times I went there was a ton of bugs. It was hot evenings though.

RE: NEW YORK CITY BASH
Hey great! If you brought 2 of those ramps and I brought mine and we put them side by side we could get great air! The main problem with just one is that they are too skinny to line up and hit with any speed. Have you guys checked out the Queens spot posted on page 3? It's huge and open and would be perfect with a few ramps. The spot is in Broad Channel (Howard Beach) right before the bridge to Rockaway. It great because you have very easy access to you car, a lot of spots you have to walk to. Here's a vid posted on pg 3

RE: NEW YORK CITY BASH
Your right FBF is all flat but we found a nice spot with a big street area, a dirt area, gravel mounds, and Gary shoveled the dirt and made some small jumps. Plus I brought this plastic ramp I have, it was pretty fun. Check the pictures a few pages back. We kinda got kicked out though not sure, some guy just came and said there are dedicated RC areas (the onroad track), dunno if that meant to stop running there or not. All I can see at that spot you linked is trees

RE: NEW YORK CITY BASH
How do you (or your son) like them on the pede? If you do go brushless they will definitely balloon like crazy and look like pizza cutters. Taping is not just for racers, imagine how much control you loose riding on such a thin contact patch. I would also recommend balancing them. On the pede you could just put all the tires on the front stub one at a time, spin them and see where they stop and add some clay to the top. RE: NEW YORK CITY BASH
Dunno man, they are pretty expensive in 3.8. I can't imagine people wanting to sell there tires if they are some of the best available in the first place, might have to go new. I think I would get unmounted though, this way you could tape them inside to prevent ballooning.

I don't think they sell unmounted foams. Check out Jaco foams, but those are premounted.

RE: NEW YORK CITY BASH
Cool, so lets set something up for the near future. Gary, are you gonna try out the trenchers or stick with the big joes? Check out the Masher 2000 tires also. One thing you other guys with MGTs should check out is the body that Gary has on his 8.0. I know you guys like to run with the body off so you can start it back up easy if it stalls or whatever, but with the body Gary has, you can just lift up the back to do whatever, and it just snaps back down when your done, no clips

Not sure what happened today, only me and Gary showed up. We stayed about an hour or so at FBF then went to go check out his spot in Gerritsen, here's a short video of the spot. I wish I could drive and film at the same time, but I can't. ALSO, emaxx, maybe some of us can make it out to your spot on Thursday?

RE: NEW YORK CITY BASH
Had a lot of fun today at FBF with Gary. He found a sweet spot with a little bit of everything, big pavement area, dirt, mounds to jump ect.. Best part was that we could pull up and run right out of our cars. Also no one bothered us at all, a construction guy even gave us a thumbs up [;)] Here are some pics I took before we left: [image]http://img339.imageshack.us/img339/5485/20120814130601896.jpg[/image] Uploaded with ImageShack.us Uploaded with ImageShack.us Uploaded with ImageShack.us Uploaded with ImageShack.us Uploaded with ImageShack.us Uploaded with ImageShack.us Uploaded with ImageShack.us Uploaded with ImageShack.us Uploaded with ImageShack.us

Malfunctioning Charger Help?
Hey guys, My Thunder AC6 charger has been malfunctioning for a few months now. What happens is, If I run a pack then put in storage mode via the charger, both cells balance fine and come out to about 3.85v each. Then if I don't do anything at all, except switch to balance charge mode, cell 1 jumps between 4.05-4.25v while cell 2 is still at 3.85v. I know both cells are at 3.85v, but it reads cell one much higher, while on balance mode. This causes the charger to stop prematurely and sometimes does not get fully charge the battery. Also it will read the total pack voltage wrong, like is cell one is 4.1 and cell 3 is 3.9 it will say total voltage is 8.2 or 8.4 and stop charging. Anyone know whats wrong? Do I need a new balance board or a new charger? Also, it does this on all 3 packs I own

RE: NEW YORK CITY BASH
Yea, just ordered some new gears I should get in tues or wed. I switched from 48 pitch to 32 pitch (mod. 8) so hopefully they wont be affected by sand or strip out. I'm interested in seeing that spot you found in FBF too, I could use the gears I have right now too.

Hmm yea I would but I striped my low gears last time out and I haven't gotten new ones yet. I only have high gears which wouldn't work well in sand. What time you going over to FBF though?
