I just ordered a set of road hawgs II 2.2 for the rear of mine. I have some speed hawgs for the front. once I get them on I will post my findings. What weight shock oil is everyone using for the street?

I got one and I love it. I put stampede tires on it and a reedy brushless system for 3s. The only change I would recommend is putting some 10k diff fluid in the center

i have hit both bricks and metal poles. I try to avoid them, but sometimes they jump out infront of my trucks. The 4 yearold pretty much hits everything.

RE: Does the stock motor in a losi strike suck?
I agree with the stock brushed motors being cheap, but I remember having an emaxx with similar motors and it moved pretty good. I posted good feedback because dispite the motor it was a good deal and he included almost a complete tranny that was not in the listing. I got a reedy 3300kv and SC-450BL ESC for the truck for 70 bucks so we will see how she rolls with that between her axels

RE: Does the stock motor in a losi strike suck?
It was an impulse buy on ebay for about $80 delivered. No radio but is has the 17mm hub convertion, CVD's, and an extra set of newer wheels. Also there was almost a complete 2nd tranny, I have kids and my buddy has one the same age. We are triing to get them into RC. I though a cheap truck would add more fun. I had an extra radio so it seemed like a good plan.

i did twice and I got the same thing. Even with a fresh 7 cell pack. The guy sold it to me said that was how is came from the factory. Could it be defective or is he blowing smoke? OR are they just that bad?

Does the stock motor in a losi strike suck?
Hi I just got a losi strike off ebay and it was used. The motor is very weak and barely pulls the truck in reverse. The motor does not look very used and you can tell that the owner had run a different set up. He said that the losi motors were like that from the factory and this one only had about 10 minutes on it. Do you think that is true? thanks joe

RE: Pinion set screw help!
If you have a large vise crush the pinion as hard as you then put a small punch against the shaft and bang it out. OR crush all the teeth down till it fits out. OR cut the shaft with bolt cutters, OR hold the pinion in the vise and drill into where the shaft is, the drill bit will "walk" to one side of the shaft, drill as far as you can then pull with plyers. I got a dremel tool at a flea market once for ten bucks. These are priceless for the hobbiest, anyone who tells you to get one is right. Even if you get your pinion off someother way still get a dremel. I use mine all the time. I have one in my shop and my house.

RE: How hot should modified brushed motors run?
Thanks guys! Looks like I opened a can worms here with what I thought would be a simple answer. I am running 30 series badlands tires from proline, they are pretty tall compaired to stock tires. I think they are for 1/8th scale but I had them laying around and I paid a lot for them so I wanted to put them to good use. The motor is a Team Orion Havoc 15T and the speed control is from a losi strike. The drive train is not binding, I checked that 1st. I was running a 5000 mah lipo with 30c to 45 c burst. I ran it before I increased the spur gear with a 15c and got the same hot motor cool ESC. both batteries are 2s and were charged fully.

How hot should modified brushed motors run?
Hi I have been out of the electric loop for a decate or so now. I am getting back into it now. I have a rustler with 30 sereis rear wheels, a 15t modified motor, losi speed control and I am runing 2s lipo. I have 15teeth pinion and the second to larget spur gear. It does not wheelie easy. But on a good grip surface it will pick the front tires up an inch or two. I am happy with the speed and torq where it is at, I just don't want to fry my motor. My speed control is always cool. My motor is getting upto 193 degrees F. in less then 1/2 a pack. Is that too hot? I forget what is normal for these? thanks joe

E rustler stops after snow please advise
Hello I have an electric Rustler and I was running it in the snow. I had a modified 19 turn motor with stand up brushes. I soildered the brushes on with too much soilder so they could not move forward into the com as they wore. So it stopped working and I got new brushes and soilder them on right. Now it does not turn, I test the wires and brushes and everything is getting power, I cleaned to com and sprayed it out with motor cleaner and still nothing. Any idea of what it might be? I even tried spinning the motor as I gave it power and it will not even try to spin? thanks joe

RE: nitro problem NEED HELP!
I would turn your high speed neeedle counter clock wise 1/16 of a turn. Then run it for a few minutes to let everything settle and see if it runs better or worse. I guess that it will run better keep going untill your happy. But remember to do very small movements at a time and run it for a couple of miutes to let the new adjustments make there way
