Lime green transparent covering
Does anybody know where to get Lime green transparent iron on covering? Monokote, Ultracote, Superkote don't, but I've seen it on ARF models. The precision-arobatics electric is an example of one. Thanks Jeff

50cc Gas Engine Rebuild
Need advice rebuilding a Tanaka 50cc gas engine. Bought a new piston/rings but cylinders are no longer available. Should I hone the cylinder or leave it alone? I've heard if the cylinder is chrome plated or Nakasil plated it could do more harm than good. Thanks Jeff

RE: Best Kits
If your looking for a challenging plane to build consider the SIG Citabria. This is definately a builders kit, I power mine with a TT 75 4-stroke, barely enough power. If you want a kit that is easy to build but LOADS of fun to fly conside the SIG Fazer. I like it so well I bought an Ultimate profile biplane. Of all the kit's I've built the Fazer is the most fun to fly (I wouldn't consider it an advanced trainer though). Jeff

RE: What happens if arf and kit building prices meet?
You're correct, the cost of building a kit vs buying an ARF is very close. However when you build a kit you're assured the glue joints are sound vs somebody building an ARF on a production line assembly where I'm sure the quantity factor overshadows the quality factor. I've seen quite a few ARF's disintegrate in midair. The glue used in ARF construction is questionable (looks like either hot glue or white glue, they don't look like they use CA, probably too expensive.) The covering used on some ARF's is very cheap, I doubt its Monocoat or Ultracoat. Jeff

RE: The best maiden I've ever had!!!!
Birds never cease to amaze me,,,I've watched barn swallows fly at 6" above the ground and make near 90 degree turns to snare a moth,,,amazing. Hummingbirds are also fun to watch definitely natures helicopter. I think the true "top guns" belong to mother nature. Jeff

How to calculate the C.G. for a Delta wing
I'm building a delta wing plane, and would like to know where to balance it (C.G) It has a 48" wingspan the the cord is 20". I cut it from 2" Lowes insulation foam. Boy, cutting a delta with a hot wire is NOT EASY. I'd also like any input on just using 2 servo's for Elevon control, or is it best to have a separate elevator. Thanks Jeff

RE: Rudder hinge broke...?
Here is a neat trick that works real well for applying Vaseline to hinges. Get a pipe cleaner, fold the hinge until it resembles the letter A, dip the pipe cleaner in the Vaseline and apply only to the pivot point of the hinge. Sure beats a toothpick. Jeff

RE: Where to get 3
A hot stainless wire will cut through Gorilla glue,,,you might experience more resistance when you cut throught it, but it will cut with a hot wire (I tried it on a sample). Jeff

RE: RR-1 + G-Mark .030 R/C
The guy I bought the RR-1 from at the swap meet, bought it from another vendor for 15.00, JUST before I got to his table!! I offered him 40 which he wouldn't take, he finally took 50. I'm still holding out for that 68 Hemi Satellite (that you hear stories of people finding) for 800.00!!

Does anybody know how many RR-1's COX produced? Couldn't find any production totals for any COX engines. I picked up these two engines at a swap meet.

RE: First
How about a SIG Kougar or King Kobra. They are plenty fast and very easy to build.

RE: SPEKTRUM Misrepresentation?
Wrong again. I just went through the process. I filed in the county I live in, not Illinois. Maybe mail order has something to do with it. I'm not an attorney, but I play one on TV!! No, joking aside, you can file where you live, not where the company is located. Again, it's unfortunate that you have to resort to such measures, it shouldn't be that way.

RE: SPEKTRUM Misrepresentation?
Wrong, actually you file where you live. Unfortunately, companies today don't really care about customers, and if you can't come to an agreement, it's a course of action you can follow. And it does work. Horizon Hobby is developing a reputation of not treating folks fairly, GM had that same reputation and look where it got them.

I don't like Specktrum radios due to the "satellite" receivers (or any other brand that uses them). Life's complicated enough!!

RE: New Saito 100 Won't Start
If a larger starter cone is what you need, go to an auto supply store and get rubber radiator hose that fits on the outside of the aluminum drive cup (make sure it's a tight fit). I use a large nylon tie to secure it,,,it has never come off. Jeff

BP Hobbies,,, any feedback
Wanted to know if anybody in cyberland has had any problems with BP Hobbies? I ordered 7 digital servo's, one of which was bad. I sent it back to BP hobbies and this is where the fun starts. I was told by Jim from BP hobbies that they moved to a new address (I asked him what address to ship it to, it would have been nice to have the correct address). I'm still waiting for the bad digital servo to be replaced with a good one. Just a heads up to whoever might think of doing business with these folks.

Tango on floats
I have a Hanger 9 Tango on floats. The problem I'm having is the plane shoots almost straight up during takeoff. The plane is balanced according to specs, but the step on the float is about 2" aft of the balance point. Any Ideas, is the problem due to the step being aft of the balance point? Thanks
