RE: Can't get plane off ground
I have a cap with a fiberglass fuselage and sheeted wings. I fly with a 55AX engine. I had a 46 on there and it just did not have the power to hover or go vertical. It flew "ok" with a 46 but there is no way it would have flown with a 40 on there. You really should listen to everyones advice on here. There is alot of smart stuff being said. I know that trainers are not the "coolest" and most attractive aircraft on the market but if you pick one up and commit to flying two or three times a week over the summer then you should be able to fly your cap in one to two months. Remember that caps have to land "hot" so they dont stall. Make sure you use minimal throws and set it up with some expo. I recommend at least -20 to -25% expo;l especially on the first few flights to get those jitters we all have with a new plane.......Andy

RE: O'Brien Hobby experience
Good for you. It took me many calls and many emails to get ahold of him. He never answered the phone. If he does not have the items in stock he needs to tell the customer. No big deal if he is honest up front. He has the best prices on the internet but is messing his shop by doing this. To bad.

RE: O'Brien Hobby experience
You can file a complaint with the FBI in NH against Doug for fraud. At least you can get piece of mind for stealing your money. you can report him here http://www.ic3.gov/ so that he quits doing this to people.

RE: YT/KMP FW-190A
Has anyone tried using the 26cc gas engine that KMP says for this plane? It seems small for the weight of the plane

RE: This is ridiculous!!! What do you guys think hotliners are?
Good discussion on the hotliners. I have a question about motor setup. I am new to electrics and am looking to get the GP siren. Will I have trouble using a FAAST system because of the CF Fuse? Will a Multiplex BL-480/4G with a 4:4-1 geardrive work well? Thanks

Akro Build and Flight Test
Guys you have to try out the Akro from knoxhobbies.com The plane goes together really easy and is very very fun to fly. I do not recommend this as a first or second plane if you have never flown radio control planes. Came with a CD for the instructions as well which is a nice touch. It can do any manuever in the book and has unlimited vertical performance. The graphics that come with it are really nice as well. Depron is 6mm thick and has the carbon fiber tubes for support. I used a Dualsky 2830 motor and a mathcing ESC from knoxhobbies. Servos were Hitec 55's as these are my favorite because of the speed they have and the price. Battery was a 1000mah 11.1V GT from Dualsky as well. I found these to be just as good as the TP Extreme V2 batteries. If anyone else has purchased one send me an email to talk about this awesome new 3D plane.

RE: Nitromodels PREDATOR RQ-1B
Brownlab, You have been thinking of getting a Wilga 2000. They are great palnes and very easy to fly. You will get around 12 minutes of flight time with them. They are foam and light so they do not like wind very much. As for the mini delta I do not recommend getting one. The roll rate is very fast and you have to fly them quick or they will stall and crash (i own both planes). Go to unitedhobby.com and pick up a tower pro 2408-21 motor and esc combo for 15 bucks and put it in a wilga and you will have a nice trainer plane with plenty of power to progress into 3d FLIGHT. Keep practicing, every day if possible and like others have told you in about 1 month you will be doing great. DO not worry about having crashed the other plane. I cannot even recall the times I have crashed and broken my planes or helicopters. With practice comes perfection and then you can get the "Big" planes. Good luck

RE: WILGA 2000 anybody?
I have a wilga 2000 without thebrushless set up but have the lipo battery. Plane is awesome. I agree it is not made for 3D flight but is a joy to fly at a park. The plane is a little fragile for a new flyer but is very easy to fix with 6 minute epoxy. They fly off the water well and land on the water even better than on land. Taking off on the water is a little difficult since the plane does not have a rudder on the floats. The best thing to do is point it in the direction you want to take off and slam the throttle to full and it will take off very nice.
