Neal, The 2012 GT World Championships is in Barceloneta Puerto Rico this year, much closer for you and nice & warm. Here's a picture of just 1/2 of the local GT track racers, there's over 40 racers down there. That's a lot of engines bro, a whole lot of engines from just their group alone! [image]http://gtworldchampionships.com/images/Ipanema%20GT%20Warriors%20Puerto%20Rico.jpg[/image] We're expecting racers from several countries too, so it'll be another big race. The best way to prove any product is on this level of International GT racing competition. Tell the wife its a biz trip, maybe she'll like the biz it brings your company. [;)]

RE: OFFICIAL OFNA DM-1 THREAD
ORIGINAL: supertib If your talking about having the fastest nitro for a DM-1 my vote goes towards a modified Nova 28-7......My version revs out almost on par with a onroad mill, but has stump pulling torque off the bottom....... They are extremely impressive engines ...they tune very easy, breakin easy, have killer bottom and rev to the moon on top end....... By design they are quite nice, unlike other .28's these engines are not over bored .21's.....these are purpose built .28's from square one , with a unique case with proper sleeve height to allow a 2 mm longer rod, which means the engine can run a long stroke without having such extreme rod angles as most .28's...which results in less vibration, which allows the engine to reach RPM''s other .28's can not.....It has the same bottom and mid as a mod Picco 28, but absolutely hoses the Picco on the top end.....I would say its top end is right on par with my modified Bonito .21, but with piles more power getting there then the Bonito has....ALl in all in a GT car I would think this would be the nitro to beat ...
Neal, That does sound interesting, what dyno figures have been able to achieve with those engines you’ve mentioned? Please post. It would be cool if it were possible for you to become more active in our international GT track racing events. Our events are the perfect venue to show your engine modification talents in a hard-core racing enviroment. You'll meet many new potential racing customers, who are always looking for excellent new solutions and you’ll have a greatest time doing it too. RE: OFFICIAL OFNA DM-1 THREAD
ORIGINAL: Telvery  It was fast but I'm of the same opinion, it's electric.  Ok, so I will go with the Ofna DM 1/8 th spec as you suggested. I have found a CF kit for it so that can also be on the list.  But what engine, hp = speed so could I put in an LRP ZR.30 monster truck engine.  4.19 hp Edit (. Is there such a thing as a three speed tranny, with some more hp it technically should be able to pull another gear)
Trevor, I posted the info & video to show you 100 MPH is possible with a GT chassis, but only if it's electric powered and yes 121mph is very fast, you'll find nobody faster with our class of cars. If you want to go fast and reach very hi-speeds using nitro powered cars, you'll need RPM more than advertized hp numbers, due to the limited available gearing options for the DM1S. Its all based on math, an engine capable of hi-RPM will spin the tires faster at the end of the day. If you have the resources to buy an ultra high RPM .21 on-road racing engine The faster the engine can spin, the higher the top speed will be... it about physics. [:D]
ORIGINAL: Telvery  Hi Guys I have just sold some plane gear and I want to build a car.  I looked around the net and forums and it seems to me that the Ofna DM one is the car to buy. I have all the radio gear so am looking for some help on the chassis and engine. So could you experienced Ofna boys give me some advice and maybe web links on where I can buy the stuff from, liker tower hobbies etc. I would like to get a DM one without an engine and get a really good engine and stick it in.  Something fast though as I'm addicted to speed. I was thinking of the DM one Pro ARR in 1/7th scale  but can only find the RTR.  What do you guys suggest or recommend and is it possible for that chassis to top 100 mph. Oh, and just to let you know I'm 50 yrs old and not 16 and just dreaming. So can you guys help me with the build. Thanks Trevor
Trevor, If you have a serious need for speed and want to be able to go over 100 MPH you might want to look at the Ofna "Dirt Oval" chassis. It weighs a lot less than the DM1 & DM1S chassis and if equipped with a brushless/Lipo combo.... it will fly! [:D] Here's Team Ipanema Top-Speed Racer, Jr with his 121 MPH absolute beast in action!
ORIGINAL: eemilioc Hi Livewire121 I used 7000 on the rear end and I tried the camber angles as the manual says and other settings from other cars going to even 3 degrees. I also changed the droop setting in different ocasions just forgot to mention it. Another thing I tried was three types of tires.
Saludos Amigo! I race the Kyosho, but have many friends that race the DM1. They all run much thinner diff oils on their cars. I would suggest you try going down to 3000 or even 1000 in your rear diff. The reason is the thicker oils do not allow your car to rotate around the turns, instead it drags the tires and might be causing the wheel spin. In the front diff you can also try 30,000 or even 10,000 silicon fluids. The thinner oils will help the car to roll around the turns more smooth and will be much easier to drive. Hope it helps, un abrazo! [8D]

RE: Which motor for the Inferno Gt.
I've been an avid GT racer since 2007, so here's my personal experence based on real track racing events. For lower budget/Spec class racing the Werks B5 with 2013 pipe combo is very hard to beat. It offers excellent power, rpm's and fuel run time with OS P4 Turbo plugs on Byron 30% fuel. For higher budget/Open class racing The Sirio CL7R-STI is a powerhouse engine that fears nobody. It offers outstanding power, insane rpm's and very good run time too; when used with the 2013 pipe, OS P5 Turbo plugs and Byron 20% or 30% fuels. Like I've said, I'm just an on-road track racer and these are my suggestions based on experence. See ya at the races!
