RE: Hico, TX Club 40, August 25, 2012
There is a AMA rule and just like set backs it's up to the CD of the contest to set the rules he wants to use. Not defending or agreeing. Jason was smoking on Saturday had the A main won by half a lap until his muffler came apart. Per the rules used at Hico even if he had won which did not, he would have been, or was DQed. JS

RE: Club 40 Pylon Race at WAAM in Tuscaloosa Aug 4th, 2012
Don got both of the planes I ordered last Thursday. Both arrived in good condition, thanks for the fast service. I'm putting both together now will be test flying next week. I've got three of my TT Pro 40's tore down got new bearings coming, milling the heads, and putting that special tweet on the inside.[8D] I raced at Hico with a plane I had left over from several years ago without pulled in front cheeks, etc. plane was just not that competitive. I must say the Texas guys are a lot faster than a few years ago now there are a lot of guys that are fast, of course putting it in the ground on the last heat race never helps. Looking forward to flying more club 40 and again Don thanks for the fast service.

RE: TT Pro 40 Muffler?
Jim, I was in Dub's place on Wed. of this week, just missed you! Yea, you would have to build and hid a pipe or something inside. No boost muffler you could drill, polish, baffle in, baffle out, little or no help.

RE: TT Pro 40 Muffler?
The TT Pro muffler is a casting with a casting finish on the inside of the exit outlet. For all of us old machinist it is very easy to determine if the exit outlet has been drilled out, or even just polished. If any engine comes into question a good tach will tell the tale. We all know what RPM range these engines will turn on a given prop.

RE: Club 40 Pylon Race at WAAM in Tuscaloosa Aug 4th, 2012
Hey Bob, I flew with some of these guys 3-4 years ago in Nashville when they were just getting club 40 started. Race started and finished on the back course. Our pylon two is their pylon one. Everyone just took off one at a time and just circled waiting for the count down from 10. Most make a practice run at the start line to determine the wind and timing, etc. No big deal, you'll be by them by the second pylon anyway!!!!

Dewayne, get old Scott Hartman to help you out. Scott is from the Amarillo area and races AMA 424, and AMA 426 with the MOKAN guys. A good .40ci pilot will outrun a not so good .46ci pilot so just run'em any way you want, just get them racing.

Hey, Alabama guys I have a question. Spinners!, I have a couple of Skyraiders left over from when I use to race Club 40. I never used the stock plastic spinner always changed it out for a solid metal one. I have a box full of plastic spinners I've collected over the years including 4-5 from Skyraiders, what diameter came with the kits? From what I'm reading this is what we must use. RE: PYLON RACING IN TEXAS
Gene the new T-bird field looks like a possibility. Our field in Richardson is a maybe. The Hotmac field in Waco. I think each group in each area has to find a club with a field thats willing to have one to two races a year. I think the entry fees have to be 25.00 to 30.00 dollars to make it worth while for the local club to hold an event. I agree with you on the help side but if we really want to do this we get wife's, kids, dogs whatever. I raced a couple of times this year with the mo/kan guys and I can tell you it was a lot of fun. I did'nt make the KC race at the end of the year but I was trying to get there when I had my little medical condition. Were there's a will there's a way. How about Austin YOU guys you out there! JS

RE: PYLON RACING IN TEXAS
There are 3 pole guy's who will not run a 2 pole course. I can't see 600 feet. You got to admit the 600' course at Fredies was way to long....boring. 424 very good times will be in the 1:25's and 426 in the 1:10's on the AMA short course, while this is not for everbody, we just need 5 guy's from three different areas. The ef1 electric guys are also wanting a three pole event, so we could shorten (have two number one pylons and let them run with us. This is what Gene does with the Q-25 at 450' and the electric guys at 400', I think. JS

RE: PYLON RACING IN TEXAS
You know guys we only need 5 guys in three areas. 5 in the Metroplex, 5 in Austin-San Antonio, and 5 in Houston. If we could get a field in the Metroplex, one in Austin or Waco, and one in Houston, we would have ourselfs a 424, 426 series start. AMA 3 pole short course. I think I can get the 5 in the Metroplex. Were there's a will, there's a way. JS
