RE: GT POWER A6 CHARGER BREAKDOWN
Good luck for your Accucel 8150. For the moment mine is still working after the rapair and it is my favorite charger. ( compared to mrc, and triton II) Before charging anay small battery try it with a big 2500 or above Nimh or Nicd to see if the chareger delivers the correct amount of current set on the display. Mine delivered 10 times the current stablished. What could happen charging a lipo!!! The sloppy solders are on the back of the circuit board and have to do with the big componets atached to the heat sink. Goog bang for the money if it works. cheers Juan

RE: Precision Aerobatics Addiction
Will like to add that in less than a week I oredered and recieved a replacement adiction and parts all the way to Guatemala. Ordered in USA and reshipped to Guatemala. Never got an answer by e-mail but the product came veru well packed and intact. I´m a kit builder and this is my first ARF, and is superb how well is made. The carbon fiber really makes it though. My only complain will be the wheels since they are not as good as the plane. Recomend this plane Blindly.

RE: Precision Aerobatics Extra 260 problems??
Have experience with the PA adiction and build the extra to a friend. Since the wings are tapper and the wing loading is higher than the adiction think this is the problem for your wings rock. Did you balance your wings? Hold the prop fron one side and put your other hand finger at the rear buttom of the fusselage before the rudder starts. Have the plane with the tires touching the surface and then pull the prop so the wings balance. They should keep level if it is ok. Add wheight to the wing that rises.(REPEAT THIS SEVERAL TIMES TO BE SURE) Your other problems seems to me that you glued incorrectly the Rudder or elevator or even the motor assy. Looking your plane from behind check if the elevator is parallel to the wings. If not there is part of your problems. If you don´t have an incidometer barrow one from a friend and check incidences from elevator and wing.( I asume they should be 0 on both) After above check if you have 90 degrees angle from rudder to elevator. Check if the motor box was glued flush and you glued the CF pins. If there are no pins means the motor box was glued incorrectly. Also seems to me that maybe you are flying with not the adecuate gear. TO HEAVVY Small planes are very sensitive to wheight, and the more the worst. Are you using the recomended gear or with similar specifications? Had problems with the rudder in the extra 260 since the horns for the push pull configuration have to litle leverage and this caused the rudder to loose aouthority at normal 3d manuevers. My friend tried 3 diferent servos having the same result so i told him to replace the horns with 1/2 plastic horns bolt through. THIS SOLVED THIS PROBLEM This plane has couplings in KE manuevers, but all planes have. hope the above is usefull. cheers Juan

RE: Cheapest lipo charger
Be carefull with hobycity or hobby king products, their quality control is bad and the probabilties your item comes defect is high. I bought the Turnigy accucel 8 and came defect, I was lucky to fix it. The warranty is to ship it back to china. I´m really happy with this charger but the $75.00 where almost a loss. Recomend putting some extra bucks for a well known brand and not wasting money. Being cheap is expensive as I read in some web page.

Is the Baby extra up to the challenge of competing in Imac Constest against 50 cc-150cc planes. On a recent Imac event at my club I started really limited with a sport plane competing against the gassers. Or should I consider stepping into them if I want to give a fair fight for the next event. Also after several years of not working with it. It had a ST 75 but to much power and vibration problems that even ruined two servos. Now has a ST 60 and flies good. Since it is an old model can´t compare with the new airplanes of relative size and half the wheight.

RE: Precision Aerobatics Addiction
I recently finished this plane and flew it with: Silver Series 35A Brushless Electronic Speed Control (GPMM1830) 35-30-1250kV Brushless Outrunner Electric Motor (GPMG4595) LiPo 2100mAh 11.1V 20C Battery Pack w/Balance Connector (GPMP0617 This is called the Great Planes ElectriFly Park Flyer E-Performance Power System sold by tower hobbies. The specifications of all this gear are almost identical as the products of IPAS and Thrust specified by the manufacturer. The mounting of the electric motor only required enlarging the mounting holes NOT IN DIAMETER, but extending them down about 3/32 o an inch to fit the motor. Put some washer big enough to grab the wood and carbon fiber. Read some are complaining about this. Not to many options since the bigger the washer the bigger the diameter so not so many options of washers to fit the screws. Also used the engine WITH OUT using the dapater that comes with. Used the side that has the axle, removing the bronze fitting and a small c-clip that holds the axle. This is no problem unless the engine goes trough the fire wall. Placed the speed controller below the battery tray, and the battery nicely fits. I think this is the cheapest way to go WITH OUT buying unknown brands with no customer suport or warranty in USA.

RE: TUNIGY ACCUCELL 8150 DEFECTIVE CHARGER
PROBLEM RESOLVED WITH CHARGER Before throwing it away decided to give it a try in finding out the pronblem in the charger. Since the charger apears to work OK but with the problem of overcharging it apeared to me it was a simple problem of some resitance not soldered correctly or a bad placed solder. THE PROBLEM WAS A BAD PLACED SOLDER IN THE BOTOM OF THE ELECTRONIC BOARD. A Solder was touching a area it was not suposed to be turning on a power transitor. This as mention are quality control problems the customer must not deal with. I recieved CERO suport from the seller refering me to MYHOBBYCITY.COM forums where nobody speccially the administrator replied giving some information. DON´T THROW YOUR MONEY IN NOT TRUSTED E STORES, research before you buy.

TUNIGY ACCUCELL 8150 DEFECTIVE CHARGER
After seeing a add in Model Airplane News decided to try this brand of chargers since it seemed a great bang for the money. It took a week to receive it from Hok Kong to a USA address and from there to Guatemala. The shipping was lighting fast! To my disappointment the charger came defect from factory and after a google research discovered I´m not the only one with problems and it seems the manufacturer has SERIUS PROBLEMS WITH QUALITY CONTROL. HOBBY KING should do something about the quality of the products they represent, produce, or manufacture. Is no money wise to invest more money in shipping it back to HOBBY KING IN HONK KONG on a warranty issue. This problem is of HOBBY KING and not the customer. In my case this is my first experience and last with Hobby King. PROBLEMS 1. The charger doesn’t have an auto options as says the manual in the NiCd and NimH menu. 2. The charger puts in about 15 times more current than the programmed current. 3. Above 0.3 amps current programmed the charger goes crazy and the current overloads my power source shutting down. Above 8 amps measured before the power source shuts down. After almost fried my Tx battery decided to test it and discover the problem. FIRST USE BATTERY (9.6 V 8 CELL 1650 mah Nimh) 1. Checked the delta peak sensitivity 5 mv per cell (OK) 2. Temperature probe changed from 80 C to 60 C. 3. Programmed 0.2 amps (NO AUTO OPTION ONLY MANUAL) 4. Pressed enter and the charge begins From the beginning the voltage reading was high and increasing fast. (above 11 volts) When the voltage reading was above 15 volts and the pack to touch was also extremely hot decided to terminate the charge. Let the battery cool down and measured the voltage and was 11.2 V. THE PACK CHARGED IN LESS THAN 10 MINUTES , AND SHOUL HAVE TAKEN 10 HOURS. Since something was wrong with the the charger decided to do some test to verify if all the functions where fault. BATTERY USED FOR THE TESTS ( ELECTRICFLY 3600 mah 10 cell NimH) Test 1 NimH MODE (PROGRAMED CURRENT, REAL CURRENT MEASURED) 1. 0.1 A, real current 1.43 amp 2. 0.2 A , real current 2.43 amp 3. 0.3 A, real current above 8 amp (power source shuts down) Test 2 NiCd Mode The same as test 1 TEST 3 LIPO MODE PROGRAMED 4S ON THE CHARGER SINCE 3S GAVE AN BATTERY ERROR. THE CURRENT READINGS HAD SIMILAR RESULTS TO TEST 1. CONCLUSION This charger is a waste of money as DANGEROUS TO THE NOVICE. There is a quality issue since I´m not the only one with these problems. RECOMMENDATION STAY AWAY FROM THIS PRODUCT AND THE GT POWER 8 (ARE THE SAME) Buy a well know brand and don’t risk your money on a bang for your money. BEING CHEAP IS EXPENSIVE! ( I don´t learn my lessons) Juan Vadillo Guatemala

OVER POWERED SUPER SPORTER 60
Recently finished my SUPER SPORTER 60 with the idea that more is better so installed a SUPER TIGRE 75 and used a APC 11X9. Had a rough time taming the SUPER TIGRE engine but after several tanks it runs OK. My kit finished in a weight of 7 pounds, heavy compared with lager rc planes now days. The problem right now is excesive vibration specially at full throtle. The engines runs ok and the prob is balanced but I`m thinking is to much power for the airframe to handle. Already ruined two servos futaba S3151, glitches start to happen from nowhere and when you open the case one of the cables is barely conencted where they solder. So after the second servo failled decided to change the engine before flying the model with the same setup. ¿which engine will you recomend, the engines today are more powerfull than 15 years ago? Already bought another SUPER TIGRE RINGED 61 since it had the same dimensions as the 75. ¿will this engine over power the model? thanks, Juan Vadillo Guatemala

RE: Ailerons on stinger 10
I recently build a Stinger 10 last year and it is not a trainer. It will roll REALLY FAST AS IT IS. It is a heavy plane compared to other planes similar in size so .10 engine will be not enough.(IT WILL FLY). I tried several brands on similar size engines and the best engine for me has been the magnum .15 in this size planes. (enya .09, la .10, la .15, Norvel big Mig .15, Magnum .15) Gear used: 3 hs 81 acelarator, ruder, elevator (hobbico CS-12 are the same) 1 hs 81 metar gear ailerons Norvel big Mig 15 (has less power than the magnum 15) Will recomend magnum .15 it is the same size as the OS .10 but with testoterone. RECOMENDATIONS 1. Dont use the spruce wood to join the elevator halves. They flex in flight. REPLACE IT WITH PIANO WIRE. 2. My plane needed to shim the engine to the rigth to be able to go vertical straight up, as the above mod. Flying 1. It is hard to taxi this plane and keep it straight in the runaway. Push the tail wheel againts the runaway and as the plane picks speed realease the elevator input. 2. Well adjusted it is really acrobatic. I even entered a IMAC competition with it. Of coures I was no match for the bigger planes I was against but waa trying to make a statement to the trend of buying 50 CC and up airplanes at my flyng field. Posted some pics Juan

RE: Guillow Cherokee Conversion
Krazyryan Don`t go crazy with all your calculations. Build that kit like 22 years ago only that voverted it to control line with a .049. Finished the kit with dope and tisue paper. Didn´t worked so well but was a great building experience. The smallest Servos I remember could get were in a Cox Sawna am transmitter set. Really big and heavy to the options we hav e today. Recomend visiting radicalrc.com and compare the kits he offers under electric kits and the gear he uses on his kits. You will be suprised of what his kits due and the gear they use. I already build some kits of him. The tecHology is already availlable nowdays to make this kits rc and fly nicely, that was not the case 20 years ago. I´m sure the 12mm Brushed or brushless option will be a nice combination depending on your budget, 2S 350mha lipo max to keep wheight down, micro servos. Going with the plantraco gear I thing you are going to micro for the plane you are doing. Expect major mod for the placing of the battery, and I´m sure the angle of the electric motor will be an issue for the proper flying of the model. ( detachable wing and magnet holding is an nice idea from RadicalRc kits for the baterry) The elevator suface specially the ones thar moves I remember was really small for flyng characteristics will recomend icreasing its surface. Gave problems for the control line model. Please don´t ask me how much since I was a kid in those days. Nonthing is more fun than experimenting in this hobby and the best thin is thay you will lear a lod
