RE: New gas mono shopping
Hey Ron you should mount the motor last. You want the CG to be 14 1/2. Complete the boat with box, servos, and everything. Then move the motor forward or back to get the proper CG. [;)]

Glad to see you are going to Celina. The town people are always glad to see us racing at their site. Feel free to bend my ear on the Rampage. They are a fun boat to run and pretty easy to set up. And Chip, here is a link for clubs in Texas. Go to districts and click on district 7. www.namba.com

The long winter relights the fire to run the boats for sure. I think that is why we have so many model boaters in this area. As far as the temps go, anything over 60 degrees is short sleeve weather for us northerners. [;)]

RE: Go-fast recommendations - what combo?
You can't buy speed. Speed comes from testing testing testing. We took an average heat racing sport hydro (65+mph) and turned it into an oval record setter with the same motor and pipe. A few prop changes, strut changes, and pipe setting changes and some good driving got the job done. We then did the same thing and ran over 82mph. We did this with commercially manufactured equipment that all can buy. The boat was a Blazer Marine Whiplash and a modded Zenoah from M&D Designs. You can buy the best stuff out there but that will not make you go fast. Trying this and trying that to make the boat better is where it's at. [;)]

RE: new radio question
HRS mode is for DIGITAL servos only. If using analog servos you need to be in PPM or there is a good chane of cooking the servos. NIMH batts are fine for either.. Just use a 6 volt pack. [;)]

RE: RIO 51 prop RTR ...........NOT
I wish the guys that make these RTR boats would spend a few extra bucks on better parts for them. Seems like they use a lot of low end parts and it just frustrates the guys that buy them. I won't stock many of them at my store just for that reason. [:@][:@]

RE: Spektrum ????????
This topic pops up at least once a month. It is a well know fact that the Spectrum brand radio does poorly in boat applications. The Futaba Fasst and the new Airtronics 2.4 both have the channel hopping feature which makes these systems rock solid on water. [;)]

Why take a chance on a questionable dealer. Spend the extra money on a proven hull and you will be happy. If you don't then you might be back posting about the problems you are having with a cheap inexpensive hull.[sm=cry_smile.gif]

RE: spektrum dsm2 dx3r dammage!!!!!!
It has been known for some time that the Spectrum brand does not do well on water. The reason being that it locks on to 1 of 2 channels and can lose contact with receiver. The Futaba Fasst 2.4 spectrum constantly changes channels and will not lose contact with receiver. The new Airtronics 2.4 also has the channel hopping feature. Sorry you found out the hard way. [;)]

Leave enough room so you can take off the collet. 1 in. is perfect. Any more than 2 in. and you might get cable whip and thet will tear up the stuffing tube. [;)]
