BVM T-33 Flaps
Could someone be so kind as to post some pictures of the flaps from your T-33? I just received a flap kit and I'm trying to fit them on an airplane I have that was missing the flaps and I'm confused on how the arrowshaft is supposed to line up to the molded part. The instructions don't have any pictures and are not that helpful.

RE: L-1011 Air Force One
We're not sure what we will do with it just yet. I don't think the wing has been broken, the only damage I saw was one of the nacelles was cracked. It's got a real old AMT in it. Had not thought of a raffle. It will be at our auction on Feb 6th, but I'm not sure it will get sold there. We don't want to see someone buy it for pennies at an auction and see it on here for sale the next day.

RE: L-1011 Air Force One
I doubt it flew at joe nall last year, the guy said it had been in storage for quite some time. It went through a fire and the insurance company had it. The thing was covered in soot when we got it, but after cleaning it up it seems to be in fine shape. It's kind of puzzling because I know everyone in the area that flys turbines and something like this would be hard for noone in the local model club to know of its existance.

L-1011 Air Force One
Anyone recognize this airplane? Our club recently recieved this plane as a donation from an insurance company, it's fairly unique and I was hoping someone would have some background info on who flew it or some such. I believe its a PCM models L-1011 I haven't been able to find much information at all about the kit or anything. If anyone is familiar with this kit or have seen this particular one I would love to get some info.

RE: P80 Won't throttle up
Ya I talked to wilcox, sorry I shoulda nuked this. Jetcat was closed and I posted here last weekend hoping someone might have an idea. Sounds like it might be a bad temp probe or probe sitting in a hot spot. I ran the thing at night after talking to Bob and it looked fairly normal, I'd expect it to be glowing like a christmas ornament if it was really 850+. It's on it's way to jetcat now. Hopefully just something simple like a temp sensor.

P80 Won't throttle up
I just got my ECU back from having the A123 update done to it and my engine won't run right. It seems to start fine except the temps are high. After that its real real real slow to respond to any throttle commands and gets really hot like 800's and 900's. I don't think it would even make it to full throttle though I never let it keep trying because of the temps it was showing. I did the temp probe recalibration and its the same. Are there any other settings in the ECU that could cause this behavior? Also running it at night the tailcone looked normal, it doesn't really seem to be 900 degrees though I don't have any other way to measure the temp. I would think the whole thing would be bright orange if it was. possible to have a faulty temp probe or something?

RE: VELOX.. Build thread with Photo's..
We've got 3 people with Velox's here. 100 flights on one, 39 on another and a third ready to be maidened next week. You can't really go wrong for the price. Mine flys great, no bad habits. P-80, no engine cover. Slows down very nice, I run 50 degrees of flap with 3 degrees of crow in the ailerons for landing. We've been flying all summer from a 450' runway with corn planted 50 feet from the end, so landing approaches are fairly steep and slow. The Velox's seem to come in just as good as the Bobcats at the field. Only times that I've seen a 'cobra' type situation is when the airplane is stalled. A friend of mine bounced a landing which kicked the nose up and stalled the airplane which resulted in a cobra type situation. Also, if you go up and stall the plane like a spin entry it will pitch up. Neither of which should happen during normal flying unless you do it on purpose. Overall, I can't complain and I'd buy another one. A little more work to get it in the air than a BVM, but I can think about where to mount alot of stuff and reinforce quite a few glue joints for $3000.

RE: reversing an engine
I had a bobcat 50 pusher with a rossi .81 ducted fan motor that I reversed. It was a rear intake engine so I had to turn the backplate 90 degrees instead of the front. It ran fine backwards. Open exhaust and tapped the case for a perry pump to keep the fuel flowing. apc 9x10 or 10x10 on 30% nitro. I don't know what it tach'd but it was almost scary. It flew fairly fast too, it was a fun plane.

RE: Futaba 12Z v 12FG
I've flown with both and they are both really nice. The 12Z comes with an aluminum case, has a nicer screen, lithium ion battery, speaker volume adjustment. 12Z has 3 knobs and 4 trims, 12FG has 2 knobs and 6 trims plus the sliders come through to the front as well. I bought the 12FG after a friend here bought a 12Z I didn't think it was worth the extra $300 to me and I actually like the black case better. I've since found a couple other things different, the 12Z has hysteresis (dead band around the center of the sticks) and is more flexible with setting up point curves. The menus are nicer on the Z, because of the better screen it can show more pictures when you're setting things up. Overall though you can pretty much accomplish the same things with either radio. We're both flying the same model (fei bao velox) and they work exactly the same. The only thing that annoyed me was on the FG, the momentary trainer switch is on the right side instead of the left side like every other radio i've ever owned. MPDX-1 works with the newest software update on the FG too but that device only works with the 72mhz modulation schemes so its really a non feature for me as i'll never fly on 72 again. If they ever update MPDX-1 to work with FASST it might be nice.

Watching sh*t on the internet got me into r/c. I saw this project on the web years ago and decided the turbines were so sweet I had to have one. P80 ECU reboots w/ GSU
My P80 just started acting up and now whenever I plug the GSU in or out, the turbine reboots (startup beeps). so if the turbine is running and i plug the GSU in, the reset causes it to shutdown. Was taxiing out to fly today and the RPM sagged below idle then spooled up slow and got real hot and shot flames out the back. Have had a few missed starts lately with slow acceleration after it lights on propane but would always run fine once started. Anyone else experienced anything like this? Wondering what it might be.

RE: Feibao Velox Arrives!
I'm flying one with a P80. It flies great but I dont think you could get 6-7 minutes unless you're real easy on the throttle. I start the timer when I throttle up for takeoff and I'm back on the ground in 5 minutes usually with enough for 1 go around. I'm trying to find a way to get some extra fuel on board.
