Don't be to sure about them taking care of the problem. just because you have the same plane and don't want to hear that there is potential problems

RE: Top Flite Giant Corsair ARF Disappeared.
Chris, How do you know John? He has been a friend for a long time and I would say he is a very good builder, when he told me about the crash I was as surprised as any one else. I have since seen the inside of the wing where the bolts go through and the bearing area is only about 1.5" square under the bolts and nothing between the bolts but 1/16" balsa sheeting over the blocks that are very soft. what happens is the bolts end up crushing the blocks and split them. the flutter is very real and I have seen it with my own eyes .

RE: Top Flite Giant Corsair ARF Disappeared.
I tried telling what happened but got told I didn't know what I was talking . I am trying to get the owner of the plane to come on here and explain . I know of 2 that have had stab flutter, on top of the wing problem that makes it interesting.

RE: Top-Flite 1/5th F4U Corsair ARF Group Build and modification thread
Hi Dean, I watched one fly last night and it had elevator flutter and it wasn't going that fast. I checked all the linkage and it has to be the torque rods flexing so beware.

RE: Hawker Hunter 1/6th scale ARF from Flying Legends
Sean, I found that to be a poorly designed area of the plane . I built up the area on the rear former with carbon fiber and covered it with aluminum tape to help reflect the heat. If you don't raise the pipe it will not be centered at the back. I also think the by-pass is not right. it gets very hot on the epoxy part of the by-pass , all the by-passes I have used hardly get warm and use intake air to cool and not fuselage air. who knows what is happening when you get it in the air. It would have been nice to have the nose removable but still works as is. Over all I still enjoyed assembling this jet and I have seen one fly in person so I know this one is going to fly good.

RE: Hawker Hunter 1/6th scale ARF from Flying Legends
Thanks for the fast response Smchale and Dave, I was thinking that the rear of the bypass is very close to the hot air going into the tail pipe. I hope it is made with high temperature epoxy. this is not my airplane, I am just putting it together. I watched Kirk test fly his. Karl

RE: Hawker Hunter 1/6th scale ARF from Flying Legends
OK you guys I have a question about the bypass in the hunter, I need to know if this bypass is correct. this one I have fits the inside of the inter pipe leaving the outer pipe to draw cooling air from outside the bypass. all the other bypass I have used go on the inside of the outer pipe. just checking to see if there is a new way of cooling the pipe. this is a super tight fit with a super eagle. what kind of valve are you guys using for closing the doors . the air line on the front door cylinder was a pain to get on. it seems that everything just barely fits. the air line seems to be a bit stiff so I strung it up over night with some weight on it to get the coils out and that didn't work at all.

Maybe they use a lot of gasoline when they are painting these, or they have hired an artist to design some nice paint schemes .

thinking Futaba needs a how to book and they could sell a lot more products if we knew what they did and how to do it. have you got your name on a 18mz yet? I would like to have one but I like the 3000. it costs a lot more in my pocket, the 12z is doing just fine for now.
