RE: To Y-Harness or Not...
I have used both setups in my models and have never had a problem with either of them.

All the Goldberg models were very good flyers but you are in for a real treat with the Extra, fun to build and lots more fun to fly.

RE: Zenoah 26 upgrades
Looking real good so far. Yes you need a gasket on each side of the carb spacer, and just go easy with bending the fuel inlet pipe, just bend enough to let the tubing be clear of the crankcase.

Wether it was preventative maintenance or maybe just plain ole common sense I upgraded the servos on my rudder and elevator to 100 oz. in. units, while both ailerons and throttle remain with top cover BB S148's.

All of the Zen manuals with an exploded engine diagram I have seen show gaskets on both sides of the carb spacer block so it's fair to assume that the GT-80 should be the same. Have seen expl. diagrams of all the Zen engine but never one of the GT- 80.

You guys remind me of the story of the ram that kept butting his head against the dam in the hope of butting it down and in this senario Zor is the dam. In this particular instance he will never see your point of view and all you will end up with is a headache, so my advice is leave well alone. [:D]

How sure are you that the measuring device you are using to measure to within 1/64th inch is in fact an accurate measuring instrument as you seem to think that most anything that others use has some inbuilt inaccuracy .... just wondering so no need for you to answer.

RE: FRSky 2.4 GHz conversion for JR
My FrSky system is non telemetry capable and was bought before the telemetry capable units were available, and it has been rock solid in it's performance, plus it offers failsafe function on all channels and gives super quick binding.

RE: Sig Fazer (rudder stab)
An easy mod is to add 2 or 3 small hardwood dowel pins glued into the bottom member of the vert. stab framing and extending down through holes in the top of the fuse and into the center section of the horiz. stab.

Are you still using the original servos in your Extra, and if so what are they ? I still have the original Fut S148's on the ailerons in mine to which I fitted an EMS replacement top cover BB kit.

It's always nice to hear from someone with family ties to outr little Ja. rock, especially one in involved in the hobby. I know several folks named Myers here but would have to know more about your family roots to make a connection. Jerk pork and chicken are still one of our favourite native meat dishes. 1989 was some time ago, maybe it's time for your next visit. Negril has changed some since then but for the better I think. Nice of you to reach out bro, irie and no problem mon.

RE: Goldberg Extra 300
I picked up the tip of strengthening the fuse just forward of the LE from you here in this thread. I glued back in the lite ply cutouts in the stock fuse doubler and then added an extra 1/8" thk ply doubler that extended both front and rear. I aslo added some internal supports in the L/ gear area of the fuse. Should be good for another 18 years [;)] Dale is accustomed to the big throws on his 3D capable 30cc Redwing MX 11 even though he does not really fly 3D with that particular model, uses his EPP Crack Yak for that [:D]

RE: Viton Rules!
ORIGINAL: Edwin Where is your ad for this mtk tubing. I'd like to check it out. I'm starting to get into the smaller gas engines in the EVO line. In setting up the 15cc with a 8oz tank, there is not that much room for flexibility. I'd like to have some alternatives that are more flexible than viton. Edwin
I'm quite sure that you will be very happy using the tubing that MTK offers, and a big plus is that it's clear.

RE: How old is too old for servo horns?
I have never had one of the Futaba black nylon/plastic servo horns go bad in 20 or more years of use, but have had to replace the nylon pushrod snap link clevises which gets very brittle with age and break quite easily after about 12 years or so. Of course I imagine it all depends on one's climatic conditions such as temperature swings, as here in the Caribbean the temperatures stay pretty constant year round.
