have owned both, flew the xl with a p-160 jetcat it flew nice for someone that wants a easy flying big jet, the elan had a ram 1000 and this thing was a hot rod but never lost its slow flying ability, i would buy the elan if you are looking for a crisp flying jet and its easyer to transport, hope this helped.

hey jim ,seen the flite and was very glad u got it down safe, dont sell yourself short on the pilot skill part. i have one question for you. who flyes some of the most high dollar jets at our club.(billy) what radio does he use, how many planes have you seen go in by him. think of all the other stuff thats went in over the past year at our field, what radio where they holding in there hand. billy and i both fly the same brand and have never as much had a bump on it. it comes down to what you like ,but the proof is there in the number of flites me and bill have with no issues. i dont want to get in a pissing match on rcu about brand a v/s brand b but think about what i have said. be cool and cant wait for the jet meet got my elan almost done. later berk

the wing span is 85 inch the plane is about 20 pounds the kit is made by topflight it comes in a arc or arf version done in the big beutiful doll . they will fly on a da-50 but i dont think your going to be real thrilled with it. they say the da-50 has more power than a g-62 could be true on paper, but in this app the 62 will swing a 22-8-14 prop my plane will hit about 105mph on a level pass and the vertical is great. hope this helped you out later berk
