ORIGINAL: Garrett1234567 did you guys see the date got pushed to late may
That is the same thing that a Horizon rep. told me at Toledo. As I recall the Cessna 210 was shown at the Toledo show and it was in the dealers sometime in the summer. I got one in August, but they had been available for a short time. I actually got to hold one of the Sukoia's in my grubby little paws at Toledo. If yours comes with drools all over it, that is the same one. I ask about a war bird, but they were pretty close mouthed about it. My impression was that one would some day be available, but not real soon. Nobody actually said that, just my take on it.

RE: Parkzone Ember repairs
Just now saw your posting. See if you can find someone that has a Vapor model. Look at the shaft and see if it will work on the Ember (I am betting that it will). It may be a little longer, but that shouldnt be a problem. They sell the Vapor gear and TWO shafts for about six dollars. You will have to use your gear I think. RE: Parkzone minium servo shaft collet?
ORIGINAL: BigShrimpah I ended up doing something similar. I used a rubber band a trimmed it to size then stuck a needle through it to make a hole, slid it on the shaft, then used a dab of CA glue on the end to make sure it stayed on.
Something like the rubber band will work just fine. The retainer is not very critical. Medium CA will insure that the glue does not wick too far. Here is a picture of one I fixed with a short piece of soft plastic rod, pierced with a pin. It doesn't even have to be round as long as it is small enough that it doesn't bind anywhere. You could make about 10,000 of them out of one coffee can lid. If you do lube the lead screw, be sure you don't use too much and get it down on the finger contacts. The fingers need to make good contact with the resistance strips on the board.
ORIGINAL: Ched Oil the bushings on the prop shaft too! and.... when you crash make sure the shaft has not pushed back through the white gear. There is a spline that holds the white gear onto the shaft. If the spline moves back into the bushing, it will slow down or lock up the gearbox!
THANKS Ched. I do oil the prop shaft bushings. Great heads up on the shaft/bushing problem. Many people are not aware of this. The information about the shaft moving back and locking to the bushing cant be repeated too often. It is more of a problem if it just slows down because people go ahead and try to fly the plane with the bushing spinning in the case. If you look at the shaft retainer and the back bushing and there is a gap or if the front bushing is partially out of the case you probably have the problem that Ched mentioned

RE: Parkzone Cessna 210 centurion
Have you oiled the prop shaft bushings yet. If you have not it would probably help. I use a very light machine oil. I also run the gears dry with no lubricant. If the gear is dirty clean it with alcohol. If you have access to a tachometer check the speed. Anything much below 5600 RPM isn't going to fly very well. The maxim prop speed is about 6300 RPM.

RE: Micro Cessna Questions
If you fly the Cessna 210 or a Citabria sooner or later you will break a prop shaft. They almost always break at the end of the threads. If you want to repair it exactly as it was when it was new, you have to buy a new motor and gear drive. If you buy one it is much easier to just use the new shaft and replace the broken one. To get the old shaft out remove the bras retainer and slide the shaft out toward the front. You will have to remove a little of the foam around the front opening. There are several "fixes" that I have used. The easiest and most common is to just CA glue a new prop on. There is enough shaft to do this if it breaks at the end of the thread. You can also cut a piece of 1/16 inch brass tubing long enough to go from the gear to where the original end of the shaft was. Drill the inside of the tube out with a 1mm drill (#61 drill). Drill the prop out to 1/16 inch and CA everything together You can also use a piece of tubing prepared as above to reinforce an unbroken shaft. You can also make new prop shafts from .039 music wire available at LHS or hardware stores. The original shafts are splined under the gear. You can roll the shaft under the edge of a narrow file and it will roughen it enough that CA will hold the gear. A little experimenting and you will be able to make usable prop shafts.
ORIGINAL: galaxie500ltd Yep... impossible to get for sure. Bummer. [:@] Oh well, maybe someday they'll wise up and offer a servo rebuild kit. I mean how can they not.. it's a very prevalent problem, and all they can do is make money from it, or some after-market co. will probably beat them to it and offer some better stuff with a brass threaded tube or something. In the meantime, I tried the CA method and it seems to be working fine! [:D]
I have a few in use now that I have a threaded brass liner in. So far they are holding up OK. They seem to be a little smoother and more positive than the originals. I have considered offering a rebuilding service. What do you think people would be willing to pay for them?
ORIGINAL: trroadster Does anyone KNOW if the rx will supply power to two motors? Or has anyone tried to mount and link two rxs in a single plane? I feel a twin coming on. TNX
It is possible to use 2 receivers in one plane. I had one receiver with a bad elevator servo and another one with a bad rudder servo. I installed both of them in a Cessna and linked both receivers to one transmitter. I am sure that I could have used two motors if I had wanted to. The biggest problem that I can see is getting the motors to run consistently at the same speed.

RE: Micro Cessna 210 RTF Electric
Quote "I posted this question in the Citabria forum as well....Does anyone know if the Receiver and motor and gear mount are the EXACT same in the Citabria as the Cessna 210?" The receiver and motor/gear drive appear to be identical. Different part #'s are shown but I have never found anyone that sells receivers or motor/gear drives that are specifically for either the Cessna or the Citabria. The prop speed on a good average Cessna is about 6300 RPM the Citabria is around 7000 RPM. This is due to the Citabria using a slightly larger but lower pitch prop. If you put a Citabria prop on a Cessna it will also turn about 7000. I have not tried to fly one but it should be slower with the Citabria prop.
ORIGINAL: FERNDALE AIR FORCE I think I found the glue that pz used to install the electronics. A product called canopy glue. Tim
I bought a tube of tub sealant at the local lumber yard. It is silicone and it works great. I thought the silicone caulk would attack the foam, but it doesn't. It is a little messy to use, but it sticks like a leech. It can be smoothed with a wet scrap of balsa. Okay Okay I wet the balsa with saliva. Do not forget and try to rewet it. LOL Down side is that it takes 12 hours or so to set up completely. I will give the canopy glue a try. On a different note. I flew my new Citabria last night , for the first time. It seemed to fly slower and was not as touchy on the controls as the Cessna.

RE: Micro Cessna 210 RTF Electric
2 walla. Check and see if the front bushing is trying to turn with the shaft. The shaft is splined under the gear. The splined portion is .002 bigger than the shaft. If the gear is to far forward it exposes the splines. If the splines enter the bushing it will lock the shaft to the bushing. Sometimes if the bushing does not fit tight in the case the shaft along with the bushing will turn because the bushing slips in the case. It might run for a while and then lock up. You didn't say anything about a crash, but this happens most often when the prop spinner hits something and the shaft locks up. It shoves the shaft back and the splines enter the bushing. When the prop is pulled forward it will run, but the bushing is turning in the case rather than the shaft turning in the bushing. I saw a new Citabria this evening. The gear drive was very noisy. After it was oiled it was quieter and faster.

RE: where to get micro electronics???
I am just getting in to RC. After a few Air Hogs I bought a ParkZone Cessna210 Centurion. I learned a lot about flying with it but eventually it got in such bad shape that it wouldn't fly. I made a J3 Cub from yellow meat trays and used the motor and RC system from the Cessna in it. I flew it outdoors before I installed the landing gear and it flew just fine. The Cessna is available online for about 110 dollars. It is not a bad buy for the complete radio system, receiver, two servos.transmitter. motor and prop, and LIPO charger for the included battery.
