RE: Monsoon XTR
if you're gonna run the 30 % you want to run with a cold plug. My Monsoon seemed to be running a little on the hot side too but it was pretty hot here last week....I cut a vent in the windown on both sides to help cool it a little better. I run Byron 20% with 12% oil with an os 8 plug which is medium heat range.

RE: Earthquake 3.5 differntial
check to make sure there are no like no little nipples and what what not on the ring gear, I had them on a few diffs that I bought for that truck. if there are it won't spin in right in the housing. Just grind it down a tad and it should work.

RE: How Long Nitro Engines last ?
I dont think the Vortex comes with the SH.......but most likely you blew your engine...... you can either replace the piston and sleeve or just get a whole new engine.

I like it so far...haven't really put it to the test yet still in the break-in process....gotta wait for some warmer weather to really beat on it. It seems like a really well built and tough R/C .

Monsoon XTR
I got my Monsoon last week that I ordered through Kurt at URC.....started breaking it in today didn't finish though. Anyways one thing I noticed there is no diagram or anything in the manual of the truck showing what goes into what like in my other Redcat manuals, does ayone know if they are anywhere online...it would just be nice to have for reference when I have to take it apart when stuff breaks !

RE: bogging/dieing under load
how hot is your engine getting? if you have a temrature gauge check the temp on the top of the glow plug.... if you're using 20 % nitro you should be any higher than around 260 on that engine. I would say you're probably too lean. I would set the high spped needle flush with the collar and tune in small increments from there.

RE: Earthquake 3.5
if you get the metal spur just make sure your mesh is dead on cause if its not it will strip the bell gear..... if the mesh is right it will definately last a long time !

RE: Redcat carb settings
the high spped needle 2.5 -3 turns out and the low speed needle flush with the edge...these are good starting points.

RE: VP Powermaster Fuel
seems to be pretty good fuel, burns cleaner than Byron. My only complaint about it is that it is clear. I've only run it in my Earthquake 3.5 haven't tried it yet in my MGT 3.0.
