RE: Unionville Beaver 1:8
ORIGINAL: Deaol Hello, I am interested in finding a DHC2 Beaver Kit as a long term project for me and my son. I have looked at a few, including the new e-flite 25e and the Unionville 1:8. (unionville link : http://www.greathobbies.com/productinfo/?prod_id=UVH009) Just wanting to hear some feedback concerning these models and other ones I have yet to find. We are wanting a build kit and will consider a ARF kit that will give us some good bonding time. (ex more assembly = better) Also we are wanting to go Electric. Thanks in advance. Deaol
I have built and flown the Unionville 6' electric kit. I was disappointed that the model wasn't more to scale, but it is a good flyer. I built up the tail instead of using the solid balsa provided in the kit, but I needn't have bothered as the plane turned out to be nose heavy. I have moved the batteries way back into the cabin to provide proper balance. I think you would need kit building experience before tackling this one as the drawings and instructions are brief at best. Specs. Weight RTF 4lb 3oz, Power E-flite 32, ESC Pulso DL60A, Battery 4 cell A123 See photos attached.

RE: Bernard Dumas' Canadair CL-215
Hi, I just found your thread a couple of days ago while looking for hinging info for the 72" electric version of the CL-415 (plans by RT Models) that I am currently building. It has taken me a couple of days to read through and absorb all the great build photos. Great job. Thanks for the info. on the elevator and rudder hinging, I will try to adapt to my smaller model. Are you planning to do the same for the ailerons, and how are you going to hinge the flaps? I want to do something more scale like than no flaps shown on my plans. Any help would be appreciated. Ken
