RE: The real story with CG
Every plane is different some planes like my little 3dhs edge like a more rearward cg. Then again my goldwing MX likes a neutral cg and will lock into a hover so easy it's amazing. My flat foamie from west michgan parkflyers likes it really tail heavy and locks into a hover as well.

Yes the twist is a hard plane to KE BUT KE a twist will only make you better at KE. After learning to KE my twist I can really KE some of my other planes. The twist taught me how to flat spin as well as hovering

Good luck with that JC 30. If it were me I'd stick with an engine that has good support and lots of parts available for it like the DLE 30

I like a twist. reason being is it is very gentle yet the wind does not bother it. It just makes it fun. Alot of fun Talk about flatspins and lomchavks thier a breeze. This plane is just much to easy to fly

So acording to GW that container doesn't exist? GMP has been very helpful in keeping my Green MX going. I only hope he can continue to do so.

Of course I have a DLE 30 but I've had numerous prop strikes with my APC and she's still running strong. Is the OS crank weaker?

RE: Build Thread: Redwing 30cc MX2
Now guys I'm pretty hard on airframes. So tonight when I went to fly my MX a little voice spoke to me saying give a tug on your prop to see if the motor mount bolts are tight. I did and right off the bat I noticed a little play. upon futher examination I discovered the motor box had cracked. Nothing major to fix but if I hadn't of checked it it could of been a disaster

RE: Build Thread: Redwing 30cc MX2
I hope your build is going well. I just love mine. I flew her again tonight. We had a bit of wind and as I was bringing her into the wind in a harrier She had some wing rock. I started holdong some pressure on the naileron and rudder and beleive it or not as she was getting ever lower the rock stopped.

RE: Build Thread: Redwing 30cc MX2
What servos are you using? Now I'm using solar d770's on the elevator, So I've had to move my battery and throttle servo back by the rudder servo. She now flys so much nicer and harriers better. With all that weight up front, it made her just a tad snappy.

I'm using an APC 18/6W on a single bolt conversion. Static thrust is 20 lbs at 8900 rpm. She's a screamer

RE: Slick wants to snap to the right with quick elevator input
I have a goldwing mx 2 30 ccer and I don't have this problem it's hard to believe if AJ flew this plane she's act like this. My elev joiner wire was much stiffer but I'm now using solar d 770's while getting a 50 ccer may change the issue I think a new plane in general will. There is somthing funky going on as this is not typical of a 3dhs plane. Just what does your plane weigh. And of course I'm sure you checked your lateral balance. Of course if you have one servo moving faster or is weaker then it could follow the problem. I know of several people using a single elevator servo but you need a really stiff joiner. Also make sure your not cross coupling when you pull on the stick. Good luck

RE: Build Thread: Redwing 30cc MX2
I've changed the hinges on mine to the robarts. The hinge pins had some play so I changed them. I have really abused this plane. I love to go vertical chop the throttle when she slows down I go WOT and slam both my stick to the upper outside corners and hold them there. She goes into this awesome tumble then into a KE spin then into a high alpha inverted flat spins. It's just plain crazy

RE: Build Thread: Redwing 30cc MX2
I have this plane. If you decided to go with the white side up on the rear stab besure to check your wings incident. Yes there is a difference. The green side gives a 0-0-0 with the white side up I got -1.5 0 0. This made the plane climb badly. Also be sure to fiberglass the motor box and the landing gear block/ formers. I laminated the front and rear landing gear formers with 1/32 lite ply and fiberglass cloth. failure to do so will result in the undercarraige failure.

I'd buy a cowl for my green MX 30ccer. I think once the word was out that parts were available you'd have no problem selling them.

RE: Maiden Flight of my MX2 for Father's Day, Nerves are SHOT!
I just got some green trim cote from hangar 9 Yeah I've really slamed mine down hard more than once and the landing gear just collapses. I've got mine balanced on the wing tube now and she doesn't nose in like she use to. That big prop really works like an airbrake so it doesn't hurt to leave a little throttle on and chop it at last.
