RE: Mr. Darby Tug. Share Pics anyone?
I also posted this in another post. I'm workling on an alternate power source for mine. (electric start gas engine) Could you tell me what RPM's you get at the props when running full throttle. While I'm here, anyone have any ideas on a reliable reverse? Thank you

RE: HOMELITE 25CC TOO HOT!!!
A stock homelite calls for 4 oz oil to 1 gallon gas. (32:1) I run mine with 6 or 7 oz of oil to 1 gallon of gas. I do not use synthetic for homelites because in my opinion it defeats the purpose (price wise). I just use a good 2-cycle oils with a fuel stabalizer (seems to help the carb gaskets when stored over the winter) my plugs burn clean To answer one of your other questions, when people trim there yards, the trimmers (homelite) max out at about 7,000 - 8,000 rpms for short bursts. In a boat, that prop is in the water making the engine work harder...and lets face it, we squeeze that trigger all the time. We are asking alot of an engine that was designed to trim your yard for a couple seasons and then thow out. BTW I love the homelites, if you ever get board with that engine...build a crackerbox for it. - great fun. good luck

RE: wood rudders?
After buying the resin, wood, hardware...you cannot beat aeromarines gas rudder assembly for $25. My opinion, its the best bargain in boating.

don't forget echo!
What does that muffler look like? A little trick us boaters use is to put some green scotch-brite into the mufflers. (quiets it down nice) Sounds like a fun project. Congrats!

Does anyone know if echo makes an engine that has the plug vertical. I have an echo i want to convert for a boat, but it makes it more complicated with a slanted plug. Thank you Kevin
