RE: Hows Global Jet Club plane's quality?
I received a FB L-39 from GJC and it is without a doubt excellent in the paint/finish. Carbon reinforcement where needed in the main gear area and where needed in the fuse. That was from Mike and his upgrades. Definately a great guy to work with. Communication A++++++++. Would not hesitate to buy from him again. The air products- retracts and air valves leak and that's from China not Mike. He sent me replacement o rings and gear cylinders to swap out. A man standing behind what he sells.

RE: lighting system for jets
I've used the ED-SunVis LEDS on a strobe circuit I built and they are bright even in day light. I plan on installing these same lights on a L-39 jet that I'm finishing. I build my own flasher circuits including the alternating landing lights you see on some full scale planes. I have not used they're landing lights though. For those I use the flashlight replacement leds that you find in Lowes and are bright in daylight. Send me your email and I'll email you a pic of the landing light that I installed in my Cessna 310.

RE: RE:
Thanks guys, I ended up yanking the 2 valves out and left the third one in for the brakes. I was not comfortable with the gear and door valves so I swap them with Robart units. I'm going to experiment with the brake valve with some new o rings to see if I can get it to seal. Thanks again for the replies. You spend good money and you still end up with oh well.

"o" rings
Does anybody know of a supplier for o rings for the air retract valves we use in our air systems? Why is it alwas the way when you get your new system installed in a new plane it is then after a short while that those seals leak letting the air out of the tanks. And of coarse the valves are in a hard to get area. Brand new valves from China and they're no good. I have a Robart valve available just thought I'd see if I can replace the o rings instead of tearing out the exisisting mounting and redue new mounts. Thanks guys

RE: Fuel tubing
Thanks for the info kc. The turbine is on back order through Dreamworks but the L-39 build was a pleasure. I'll post a couple of pictures shortly. Thanks hooker 53.

Fuel tubing
I'm building my first jet and I'm putting the new king tech k80 turbine in the plane. I looked at the on line manual for the jet and the plumbing does'nt clearly show what size tubing to use. Is it a given to use 6mm through the tank, uat, filter, and to the pump then switch over to 4mm. Or use 4mm through out the install. And when they say the size of the tubing, is it the outside diameter or the inside diameter? Thanks

Gear cycler
I recently purchased an L-39 and will have cycling doors actuated by servo controlling an air valve. What door cycler is recommended to operate the retract and door servos that operate from the retract channel? Thanks

RE: Great Northern Hobbies
Just an update. I did contact Mike at Global. Was very impressed with the man. Not a bad thing about him or his company could I find. I ordred the L-39 from him. Good communication. The jet should be at it's new home in a week to 10 days. Has any body seen what he is doing with the Legend L-39 with the upgrades. Outstanding.

RE: Great Northern Hobbies
I received a call from Ed last night ready to help me with my order. I thought that was great. But is that as far as he goes? Is he gone after the sale? That's not great. [:'(] A FEIBAO L-39 is what I'm after and GNH was one avenue to follow up on. Any ideas on a go to business that sells this jet? Thanks for all the experiences guys.

RE: 6.0v?4.8?
Another reason guys like to cycle their batteries is at the end of a fly day, they can see how much capacity is left in their batteries. It gives a good indication of the fuel used and how much is left in the tank.

RE: Eating glow plugs
On the bad engine, what color is the exhaust? If it is not clear but on the dark side you may well have an internal wear problem resulting in the plug problem. Are the two exhausts the same color? Another thing too, remove both cowls and fly that way to determine if it is a cooling problem. Just a thought.

RE: Troy Built Models
I've had a couple of PM's indicating that the 1/7 L-39 plane may have some short comings adversely effecting it's flight characteristics. Has anyone built or flown the FEJ 1/5.5 scale L-39 plane and was there any draw backs regarding building/flying. Thanks for the help. Doane

FEJ L-39
I'm looking at the fej L-39 on their website and they too offer a combo package. Is there any one building or flying a FEJ L-39 that could give me any info about their planes. The quality of materials used, structural integrity and so forth. Thanks in advance guys. Doane

RE: Troy Built Models
Thanks all for replying. You spend a good deal of $$$ so after the sale for service/parts is important to keep their jets flying. Why wouldn't a dealer/retailer try to keep customers coming back? I don't get it.[sm=cry_smile.gif] Oh well. Doane

RE: New: Beech Baron and Duchess arf
ORIGINAL: woodburner Thanks fot the update, KingAir.. I NEVER saw Ramon's King Air before! That pic looks like it's from the 80's or so, is it?
Actually the pic came off one of the AMA magazine covers way back when. Yes it was in the late 80's. His Baron was I beleive the earlier model 55 Baron if memory serves me. He was offering it for sale along with his T-34, A36 Bonanza's, and his Cessna 337. Either in straight fiberglass fuse or honeycomb construction. Worth every penny as I knew his kits after buying a couple of them. I have a couple of pics of his Baron from his hangar with some close ups somewhere if anyone is interested. He use to advertise in RC Scale magazine when they were still around back then. I've spoken to him on several occasions and a pleasant man to say the least.

My seats are applied using silicone to allow flexing when removing the floor to access the servos. You can still roll the floor out with the seats attached.

RE: Top Flite Cessna 182 ARF
Flying off grass as I do the wire gear flexes back exposing the leading edge portion of the wheel pant to the ground. Also it can flex enough on a hard landing or two to hit the underbelly of the fuse causing damage there as well. Looking to up grade as well to the strut.
