i found one from here but dont remmember what size it was....if you measure yours u should be able to find it with the right diameter just cut to lenght http://www.mcmaster.com/

RE: Which JR\Spectrum receiver did you crash with?
spektrum/JR receivers have failed, and will fail.....there is no argument to that, period....it might be a small amount but it happens nevertheless..... this for all you JR "enamored" folks give it up already....why do you feel that you have to "defend" the brand?? nothing is perfect.....I have flown JR explicitly and I would agree a radio failure is very rare, but I have had two of them happen where even the manufacturer has admitted the problem.....I wouldnt switch because of this, I like the brand and plan to stickin with it....

RE: Hangar-9 Sopwith Camel Build Thread
i think i am going to burn this thing down....no matter how smooth a landing I cant keep it from flipping over the nose as it rolls to stop.....I cant figure it out and sick of it. is as if the wheelbase is too short? it just cant balance itself on the wheels laterally and then it drops a wing, wing tips the ground and it throws it into a forward flip over the nose and tail into the ground. I mean I have made perfect landings where I touch down and keep the tail off ground and roll for long time, letting tail touch very smoothly....still goes wheel until right before it comes to a stop just starts swinging left and right and from there I already said it... lets see I've checked wheels arent too tight, CG is spot on at 3.5in from top wing LE, even when i balance it sitting on the gear it drops the tail which contradicts why would it flip forward with ease when landing. well i have no clue to just looking for some help....it flies great and looks great but I only have a limited amount of tolerance for this landing nonsense!! :)

RE: New Hangar 9 1.50 P-51 Build
ORIGINAL: captainron The Saito FG 36 is four things, overpriced, underpowered, tempermental and has heating problems! NUFF SAID!
i agree with everything except is underpowered......that is not for an H9 P51..... ALWAYSPDG, I would only do it again because of the sound, is very unique and perfect for a warbird, cant beat a four stroker ripping down a low pass, two strokes sound like a cheap weedeater to me, unless they are 2 cylinders :) but yes, the FG36 is a pain in rear...no doubt, I am settled in with it now so I know its ways very well.....am thinking about the FG20 for my Sop Camel.....

RE: New Hangar 9 1.50 P-51 Build
i always use a digital metal gear servo and arm on ALL aileron surfaces of my scale birds, is worth the extra cost...you can lose a rudder or elevator servo and make out ok, but losing an aileron servo is death sentence....

RE: Seagull's
it can be done but not sure on this bird, also depends on wind conditions and other factors also, the dual ace just aint got a big enough rudder to counter torque at low airspeed of (a rather overpowered, in my case!!!) single engine and a x-wind on same side adding to it...survival chances are slim, at best, regardless of pilot skills, laws of physics take over

RE: GAS Saito
ORIGINAL: rv8pilot I have a cowl opening that is only the width and height of the cylinder and baffles directing air from the opening back and around the intake side of the jug. I had this set up on glow, but I also added a tapering cooling duct from the front to the rear of the cowl on its bottom with the gasser. This creates a negative pressure within the cowl and improves the cooling substantially. Full-scale A/C do the same thing except they are adjustable.
thats good idea, i've been trying to duct some air for my FG36 inside the tight H9 P51 cowl, but havent figured out how to build this ducting...what did you use? while i agree cooling the cyl head is important, i think my problem with the FG36 in the P51 is the carb is literally upside down against the fuse, almost completely blocked from any fresh air and this is causing "vapor lock" in the carb due to the hot air not circulating... i do have to say the FG36 run hot as is...i have measured cyl head temp on an open bench and WOT and gotten up to 325deg F, while on my DA150 cylinders only run up to 250 or less.....is a big differnece...

RE: GAS Saito
ORIGINAL: waynere The engine needs to be choked or primed no question and you cannot choke simply by closing the throttle because in that position the barrel is closed both before and after the spraybar (jet).
man i dont know about that.....closing the throttle on mine chokes it just fine, starts in a few flips after. I have even done this with engine on bench and seen the fuel draw from tank as I flip the prop with throttle closed.....after fuel enters the carb is only a couple more flips and it starts
ORIGINAL: Pale_aileron
here is what mine setup is like...no need for matchbox or y-harness(stay away from y-harness, those things are lethal!!!!!) the problem is Aux 4 & Aux 5 are sent at a different rate to the other 8 channels, so what i do is use the gear channel for mating, and then you assign your gear switch to AUX4, the pics should be self explanatory...let me know if it doesnt work out

RE: New Hangar 9 1.50 P-51 Build
joejoe thats the trickiest part...BEFORE you drill any holes make sure everything lines up specially the spinner to fuse alignment and clearance. this is what i did... 1. bolt the engine to saito mount and put spinner on also (so you have an assembly of all three). 2. now take the whole assembly and place it by hand against the firewall and make sure you have the alignment and clearances that you want. 3. you will need an assistant to use a sharp and thin pencil to then outline the edge of the mount on the firewall while you hold it in the position you want very still (you wont be able to get in to outline the whole mount, thats ok , as long as you do the top half 4. then take mount off and use the outline to now mark the position of your mount holes. 5. repeat this as much as you need BEFORE you drill the holes, you can erase penciled lines, but once you drill the holes is over! good luck, here is a pic of mine. I had to make firewall even deeper because I didnt use stock yellow spinner, I use an aluminum dave brown 5'' spinner that didnt have that lip behind the spinner plate!

RE: Seagull's
ORIGINAL: Sandmann_AU - If possible use two channels for throttles with computer mixing so you can have one trim for both throttles, and a second trim for just one (easier to balance engines). You can also throw in some throttle steering by mixing the rudder with the throttles. If you do this one, assign a switch so you can disable it if you don't like it.
i use the TWIN E function on my JR 9303 and is really nice, a must have I think for any twin...however I havent been able to use the trainer button to kill (close trim) on both engines (rather than use main THR trim)....has anyone figured this out?

RE: Seagull's
i dont believe the incidence thing with washers but to check decalage, try (with caution) to put her into a vertical dive, if incidence is wrong she will climb assuming elevator is neutral of course....usually this issue is to do with engine thrust angle needs adjusting, by giving some more down thrust putting washers/spacers in two upper bolts between firewall and mount.... here is a good reference trim chart which is very helpful....good luck
