RE: Elite Aerosports Shockwave?
ORIGINAL: Shui As many of you know or might not know, I started my new gold business over a year ago, and been extremely busy, now with 3 stores in the central florida area with many more planned. Shulman Aviation, as far as the shockwave is being handled by Pablo. This was an internal decision because the demand was still very high and was I unable to continue to travel around delivering and promoting, (and at times even responding to all of the emails), what I believe to be a excellent crafted and flying model. I'd like to put any speculation to rest, as it's unnecessary. Basically my decision to start a new business was because traveling constantly was taking away too much time from my family, opening this new business was the best decision I ever made! I have had guidance from an amazing friend, and best part is I am watching my kids grow up, and not missing a day away from them. I'd to thank Scott and Pablo for stepping up and continuing to promote/sell and facilitate the sales/answer questions for this great model. Pablo is a great guy and can easily assist anyone who needs info and/or wants to place an order. I'd like thank everyone that was part of the decision and hard work on completing this great model, which we named the Shockwave. It seems everyone who has the opportunity to fly this model has the same feeling, a really REALLY great feeling about it and how it performs. Looking forward to hitting some events at some point as a regular attendee and enjoy the hobby more.
That is Awesome! thanks for the update Dave.

RE: First of the Yellow F18 Gear Details
Brian is doing great work on these gear details, and other details as well for his personal Yellow F-18. he is quite a craftsman. once that sucker is done i think it will be a masterpiece. he is designing these parts and mostly printing them in ABS on his 3D printer. how cool is that!

the 8711HV and the 8911HV are both for high voltage (up to 8.4v) which is for 2 cell lipo or what ever chemestry is no more than 8.4 hot off charge. i dont think that they make a 'regular 8911 non HV'

RE: DX18 update Jetcat
I have seen it first hand [;)] it works flawlessly. you get rpm, egt, pump volts, command %, last off condition, and status. all live in real time on the DX18 screen. its awesome. Horizon is always leading the pack!!! look for Great Planes to introduce the same thing, but for Jet Joe in 2015.[:)][:)]

are Jetcat RX series engines static proof by design?
hear me out..... since the RX series uses a bus system means that battery voltage and ground is directly sent to the turbine and fuel pump, which then is sent a seperate bus signal on how to use it. the important point is that each of the 3 components should be grounded via this system vs. the older systems that did not ground the pump body and was prone to static built up by fuel movement in the lines. make sense? just a thought i had, but i think it may be set up better to handle static issues. possibly ground the tailpipe to the ECU battery and your done. :)

RE: 2.4 JR radio question - help?
1221 rx's are still available, and they self set for DSM2 or DSMX depending on your TX, like you i have zero problems and am very happy and loyal to JR. when they come out with a 18MZ killer i will most likely switch to their new 2.4 DMSS but also keep a Spektum DSMX transmitter for all the BNF stuff.

RE: 4th gen A-10 by Mibo jets
now im the one with the gear issue...... last night i was manually compressing the gear (they are not final installed yet) when i heard a snap, and the spring action was suddenly weak and zero damping. i took them apart to find that the retaining ring on top of the inner leg, that holds the hydraulic seal and springs had given way and come out of its groove. oil was everywhere in the upper section, that is normally dry. problem 2 the gear was full of aluminum chips from machining proiblem 3 the 2 springs that nest together are both wound right hand, so the coils interfere with each other and the inner spring is badly dammaged. looks like a pig tail. i see from Stans post that his springs are right / left wound so they will not pinch. keep in mind that the gear have not even seen service yet....i was just seeing how strong the spring was, and that it needs to be replaced based on this test and advice from other mibo guys. Roger: i know you supply higher rate springs for the heavy hogs.... i.e. all of them. is this new spring a single spring? or 2 nested springs? can you please give me info on them so i can get them from you or find out where to order them please. Stan: in your modification, where you move the spring to the upper section, exactly how much of the spring do you cut off? and do you remove ?? length from both springs inner and outer? if i take this route im still in a pickle, because both my springs are RH and pinch each other. thanks in advance for the help.

sounds like it may be a UP valve issue if others are doing great with 100 psi. i dont know much about the UP line of valves.

RE: 4th gen A-10 by Mibo jets
ORIGINAL: ChrisPetersen I usually pump it up to 100 to 105. I am running Dreamworks airline. I didn't know you could pump it up that high and not have problems elsewhere. I will give it a shot and see if I am happier with it at higher pressures.
Dreamworks airline is great, you just want to stay away from the semi clear stuff. please post after your higher pressure test. force (lb.)= pressure (psi) x area (sq. in.), so for a fixed piston area you can raise the pressure to raise the force. going from 100 to 150 psi would be a 50% gain in pull up force.

RE: 4th gen A-10 by Mibo jets
ORIGINAL: ChrisPetersen I installed a single valve UP2 (?) and it doesn't seem to be able to reliably lift the gear on the ground let alone with air holding it open. It was not an issue with the first couple flights because I never intended to put the gear up for them but it went so well I want to make sure I have no doubts on my next time out.
strength of lifting is a function of pressure, not so much flow, which is what more or a larger valve would offer.....although it would help a bit. what pressure are you running? i assumed to run 130-150 psi based on my other scale stuff. with quality bvm airline and safety wire on every nipple that is not a festo.

JR Radio future business plan (?)
OK, sorry this may be a re-hash of sub topics in other threads, but really hoping that some people in the know chime in here and shed some light. it has been seen that JR is introducing their own 2.4 system, and departing from the US born 'Spektrum' 2.4 system. i personally have no issue with this, im that big of a JR fan. i also would be an early adopter of the JR DMSS without too much problem, i would simply keep a DX18 for the Horizon BNF stuff that we all seem to collect.. but im at a point where the 18MZ is looking pretty nice, and i have no problem waiting for a JR version if i knew it was in the pipeline, even a year out or more. (yes im that big of a JR nerd) again, sorry for the re-hash, and dont want this to be a Ford vs Chevy thread. hopefully it will turn into a new product sneak peek? (wishful thinking) funny, as i typed the line above i was reminded that i am a life long Chevy buyer, and i now have a month old Ford Flex..... Hmmmmmmm.[X(]
