ORIGINAL: junionwoon hi, i am a newbie in this ... anybody knows where to find eflite heli in HK? i tried going around in Mongkok but couldnt find any shops selling eflite ... Thanks a lot.
They don't have dealers in HK. You are going to have to import. I don't know why you would bother with Eflite when you can find Walkera locally.

You also risk reducing the capacity of the lipo battery although I didn't notice this on any of my original batteries. I run mine for about 6 minutes each flight.

RE: mSR servo questions that ANY OWNER can answer for me... PLEASE!
ORIGINAL: Keelo68 OK, Got my mSR from ebay, from a reputable seller. I have no doubt it is brand new... but I'm wondering if it is defective. So, if anyone who owns one could answer these two questions about servo movement I would really appreciate it. Question 1: My pitch servo moves much more forward than backward (right stick forward and backward respectively). I notice it obviously watching the arm move down and up and also flying the heli... it has very much faster forward speed control than backward speed. Is this by design or defect? Question 2: My pitch servo moves slightly up and down when I move the LEFT stick full left and right... I can think of no reason it would move when I move the rudder control... I figured the left stick was for tail rotor speed control only. Is this proper operation or defect?? I need to report any problem immediately and I have searched the web and forums but can't find anyone else describing this behavior. Thanks to anyone who will HELP.
These 2 issues are normal. Been heavily discussed already.

RE: MSR Mildly Erratic Flight
You shouldn't be gluing anything.... obviously if you don't put it back together the same way you are opening the door for problems. It needs to be able to easily dappen movements. BUT! After a crash usually the reason for erratic flight is the 2 peices of the swash come apart slightly. After a few crashes this will happen after every crash. After every crash I push the swash peices back together.. It usually has a mild snap.. Don't use the "swash tool" for this.. Use your fingers or plyers..

RE: Armor the mSR
After breaking tailmotors after just 1 crash.. I have tried everyone's advice. The heat shrink DOES NOT work. After the same crashes my endcap pops off.. The heat shrink moves.. Zap super glue works the best but still fails after a few hits. You really need to use both to protect the wires and the endcap.. E-flite really failed.. they could have metal tabs on the end of the motor to hold the endcap in place like on other motors.. Such a pain in the ass. Also the landing gear breaks where it mounts and the little tab is stuck in the hole.. You have to replace the entire frame.. another pita!

They say to NOT run the lipo down to the LVC or the heli starts blinking. After 1 crash my tail motor was dead.. I bought a second and added heat shrink that did nothing in a crash it still popped off.. I wish e-flite would do something about the tail motors..

RE: Best choice for 6 year-old w/ newbie parents
I don't think you guys are giving the 6 yearold enough credit.. a 6 yearold is 100% capable of handling a Traxxas Stampede XL-5. I had my first monster truck at 6 it was the Tamiya Big Bear me and my dad built it.. I did most of the work.. And i'm not that bright... I remember my dad being annoyed I convinced a family friend to spend soo much money on me for my birthday.. so he made me build it myself.. hahah.. The negative with the Stampede is it's not 4wd but either was my Big Bear and I ran it on grass all day every day.. The large size made the monster truck that much more fun and easy to repair also.. Especially for parents.. For $150 at Tower Hobbies (very safe company) that leaves money for batteries and a quick charger.. Honestly you can't set him up any better.. I must emphasize the Quick Charger and at least 2 batteries.. 1 hour charger will keep him happy.. 4 hour chargers suck.. I hated that as a kid.. When you buy the batteries make sure they come with the "Traxxas TRA plug" and you will want to get that same plug adapter for the charger.. You can buy this all safely from Tower Hobbies or your local hobby shop.. Traxxas is the perfect brand for a young boy.. If I was the O.Ps son i'd be EXTREMELY happy.. Also with the internet the parents can log on ask a question and get help immediately.. They can also go to the local hobby shop.. My dad had no interest in R/C cars he would just take me to the hobby shop and they did most of the helping.. Now the other side to this is.. It will be almost useless indoors..

RE: What do I need to know about the Blade MSR?
The only mods seem to be.. 1) Getting a DX6i or DX7 radio and using it to custom mix and adjust the settings. 2) Putting shrink wrap on the back of the tail motor to protect it from slamming against the wall or floor.. I bought training gear because that`s what I usually break.. but after all of my crashes I never broke the landing gear it`s too soft.. I`ve destroyed a tail motor in a crash and I`ve lost the feathering shaft o-rings and bushings and i`ve torn a screw out of the blade grips.. So i`d get a pair of blade grips and feathering shaft.. The tail motor set is about $20 so maybe wait until you bust it.. if you cover the back of the motor and wires with heat shrink you likely won`t break the motor like I did.. I don`t like the idea of adding weight to the tail.. but other people have done it and not noticed a problem..

I also damaged the tailmotor.. Instead of the endcap popping off.. It got pushed into the back of the motor.. I hate adding weight to my helis but I may have to add some shrink tubing this time around..

RE: Oh No! New Blade!
So I finally broke something.. After maybe 20 crashes full speed into the wall.. One of the screws holding the blade grip together got pulled out a bit and the blade grips pulled off the feathering shaft.. So I lost the o-rings and bushings.. Nothing really broke except for the blade grip screw stripping out the hole.. Easy to repair.. Now I just pray that my poorly stocked hobby shop has the parts..

RE: Oh No! New Blade!
I'm going to have to say flying the 4#3b and the MSr is COMPLETELY different... Night and Day! Within the first battery pack I was doing Fast Forward Flight with the MSR... After many months with the 4#3b I can not do forward flight.. The MSr being easy to fly may be a good thing or a bad thing depending on how you look at it.. Just like with the 4#3b this heli gets moving FAST... Nothing like a Coaxial.. But it sure hovers like a coaxial! The heli is VERY light.. And when it's in the air it feels light.. I don't like that feeling.. If you compare it to the 4#3b or 5G6 you will know what I mean.. I don't know how to explain it.. It being physically light is a bonus tho as this heli can use smaller motors, batteries and when it crashes it breaks less parts.. Although My 4#3b and 5g6 are metal so I don't break parts.. Since the MSr is SOO stable in a hover.. Much like the MCX.. I find hovering the 4#3b a lot more satisfying.. For a newb forward flight with the MSR is a lot more enjoyable because it's actually possible.. A very big bonus with this heli is the tail section.. It is direct drive.. No gear mesh to worry about.. and when you burn out a motor or break it instead of having to solder tiny wires you buy the entire tail section as 1 piece.. Makes life a lot easier.. Unless you enjoy soldering and tedious repairs.. I think I do...

RE: MSR rocks forward after flying backwards
Yah it's normal a lot of people have made the same comment.. I notice it also.. You will get used to compensating for it with a touch of forward or reverse stick.. Also don't let go of your stick too quickly.. bring it back to center slowly.. I think it's really pronounced on this fixed pitch heli because of the "positive stability" stabilizing bar..

RE: Oh No! New Blade!
1) Make sure the Swash Type is 90 degrees (Servo90)...not CCPM. 2) Adjust the rudder expo (D/R&EXPO, then RUDD) to at least -70% (negative value). This should help you avoid smacking the MSR to the wall when doing a turn, because of slow rudder response. 3) Adjust your throttle curve (THRO CUR) to 0, 50, 67, 84, 100. This should enable your MSR to take off quickly without having to slide around first. 4) Check the swash movement. If the elevator control pulls Up when applying Right rudder (and Down when Left rudder), go to MIX 1 and set the following values: RUDD -> ELEV, D +44%, U +57% Leave the other settings as is. The +44% and 57% values indicated above may vary slightly for your MSR. Adjust it accordingly. Many MSR owners realized these helis are not setup exactly the same way in the factory. There are other settings you may have to do depending on how the controls are mixed in your MSR. As much as possible, avoid using your radio trim buttons for aileron and elevator controls. If your MSR drifts to certain direction when hovering even when the control sticks are centered, try adjusting the servo pushrod links connected to the swashplate arms. When doing circuits, I prefer going Right when doing turns. If you see the MSR suddenly gaining speed on Right turns, try pulling up (elevator) slightly as you make the turn and release as it completes 180 degrees turn. Let me know how it goes.
Great advice. The tail was bothering me in clockwise rotations..
