RE: Fleet Brotherhood
Now here's something I have just changed: I have always used the Du-Bro 6" inflatable tires: Flying off asphalt my Fleet can get a little squirley , especially on landing roll out. It would tend to scrape a wing tip as the inflatables were a little squishey (is that a word?) It was suggested I switch to hard rubber, which I did today. I had some Sulliavan aluminum hub 5". Made a huge difference. Tracked easily all the way down the runway on take off, and absolutely tendency to dig in a wing tip. I just ordered the Du-Bro 1/3 cub wheels, per Ray W. (see prior thread) I flew this airplane off grass for years and of course had no issues, not so with the asphalt.
ORIGINAL: SkyPilot101 I know its common to sing our praises to SDP, But this time NuckleButt has done a outstanding job on the Pilot & Gun [:D] As you said SDP, Time to step things up in the cockpit!
Just for everyones FYI: SDP is one of those who freely gives of his time in flight instruction, test flying and especially helping others in their build process, cripes he's given stuff away most would expect a bunch "O" money for. So the decision to utilize MY time to do these side projects was an easy choice.

I used the Sullivan wire for the Fleet. I think you have seen how that install worked. They are functional somewhat: now the Ryan were 100% functional and used the " Straps" that proctor sells as well as their "turnbuckles" I can elaborate if needed.

Crossbraces: I dont use the block, I Pencil line, cut with fine razor saw, true up with the sanding block, find I have sanded too much, chuck the part and have a second go. I use yelloe wood glue and pin if necessary. Of course if the cut is correct there will be no need of this pin (referr to statement above) How was flying yesterday: What did John Crash

Tail Cone: probably just a reference to the "Butt End" One Issue I will have with the Fairchild is all those Fuse stringers. If you EVER grab anywhere that has stringers their gonna break. Once its covered its impossible to fix. The Fleets the same way Denis
