RE: Battery for new receiver
I am going to agree with Goldenduff on this. I use LiFe batteries and really like them. You can also get a cheap charger if you have to. The only downside is the manual will most likely be in Chinglish.

RE: BIG HEAT!!!
Hey Ken. Trade you some -35C, for some of your still hot. Just got some relief here. Major thunderstorm. Cooler for a while. Tomorrow, supposed to be back to mid 30's. Almost looking forward to going back up North. 50 feet underwater, at least it's cool. But it's a wet cool.

RE: BIG HEAT!!!
Hey Guys. I know some of you won't believe it, but we are in the mid 30's, with humidity through the roof. So much for the Great White North. NO COMPLAINTS. I heard a good one on the radio today, " If you don't like this heat, you will love December" I posted some pictures in January, it was - 4C. Someone replyed that it looked like a cold and desolate place. Right now, desolate, maybe, cold, not. I have heard that one must intake plenty of liquids in this heat. Doing my part. Hope all of you in the south, are ok. Be safe in this heat.

Another one of my favourites. The difficult we do immediately, the impossible takes a little longer. unknown From what I found, this was also the slogan of the U.S. Army Corps. of Engineers, during W. W. II

Hi hobbychina. I hope the question was for me, as I am going to answer. The plane is a Nexstar, ( well used ) and the ski's are from Du-Bro. They will attach to the stock axels. Hope this is what you wanted. Thanks

Looking at the fuel in that tank, it seems you could almost shave with that stuff. Don't try that at home kids. Shaving, that is. Thanks for all the ideas folks, it is greatly appreciated. Some of those test stands look too nice to be covered in slime. It's great to see the pride, that people put into things.

Test Stand
Hey folks. I am looking for ideas ( and photos) of test stands that others have built, for breaking in new engines. I have a new .46, a Saito FA100 and will have two more for the Twinstar that will come soon. I am thinking of 1/4 " Aluminum, as I started off my working life as a Machinist, and have access to a milling machine. I would also like to clamp it into the B&D Workmate. P.S. Can I make this one size fits all? I know I will have to drill and tap for different engine mounts. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Kevin

RE: portable pilot stations
We also use the chain link gate sections. We have two sections joined together, in a"V" shape. No reason you couldn't add more, to make the stations as large as you wanted. They can also be laid down at the end of the day.

RE: Plane
Congratulations gphil. Now you will be able to start having fun WHILE YOU ARE FLYING. Slowly the knees will stop knocking, the teeth will stop chattering, and you will be able to walk to the flying station without your buttcheeks clenched so tight it's hard to move your legs. When I started (only a couple of years ago) I was super nervous, but that has slowly gone away to some degree. I still wonder if it ever completly. Have fun P.S. Have you picked a second plane yet? Bet ya have.

No. This isn't GA, or Jamica, but for me, +4C at this time of year is unbelievable. As for desolate, I own 80 acres,( 1/4 mile X 1/2 mile ) and my nearest neighbor is 1/4 mile away. To me, that is as close to heaven as I want to get right now.

Got to go flying today.
Hey folks. I got to go flying today and had a blast. It's been quite warm here over the last while, so I put skis on my Nexstar about a week ago and gave it a shot. Didn't work out well, as there was too much snow on my runway at home and the plane just sunk when I tried to move it under power. Borrowed a friends Bobcat, cleared the runway, then dragged an "I" beam around with the truck to get rid of the bumps and chunks. About +4 C today, so I was out there for about 2 hours, and I still have the Nexstar. Floats next. Maybe I'll dig a pond big enough. First photo, my beater. Second is my runway.

RE: Du-Bro Snow Skis
Thanks hy flyr. I guess the reason I never thought of using the bolts for the collars, is that I am not using the collars that came with the skis, so I never counted the set screws. My axles are 3/16. That's my excuse, and I am sticking with it. Thanks again.

Du-Bro Snow Skis
Help. I bought some Du-Bro snow skis today, as it is supposed to be quite warm here on Sunday ( +4C ). Yes that is warm for us in Feb. Average daytime temp. should be around -15C. So I bought the skis, brought them home and looked at the mounting instructions, might as well be in Russian. If anyone else has these, and has actually got them mounted, please post some pictures of how they are supposed to be mounted. Yes, I did go to Du-Bro's site and tried to look at the pictures they have, but they will not enlarge for me. Maybe the warm weather has affected the internet cosmic waves. According to the instructions they will mount to all types of L.G. Thanks

RE: Feedback on Hobbico LIFE Rx Batteries
I use one with my 40 size Pulse XT. Five Futaba 3004 servos. Work keeps me from flying a lot, but no complaints about the battery. If I ever get my 4* finished, I will use one there also.
