RE: Aquacraft Super-Vee 27 Nitro.
Well i finally got my new SV out to the old lake this weekend. The darn thing would not start for anything!!! i have never had a problem with a glow engine. So after a little frustration i pulled out the trash glow plug they put in there and put one of my OS ones in there and the bad boy fired right up. I put a few tanks through her and had to pack up. Cant wait to get out there and lean her out and see what it can do!!!

I do not know where the park is. But i would never be cought in East STL after dark. Just not a good idea. Prolly the roughest area in metro STL. I wonder if he changed his email. Like you said kinda funny he did not answer you email. You would think he would want to push the hobby as much as he could around here. Who knows maby he is out of town

Ok i have not given up on you yet!!!! after further review i have come up with this Frank Holten State Park in East St. Louis, IL check out this article. I am not sure if this lake is just open to anyone or they get special permision to run there boats there but it is something you could look into http://findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_qa3918/is_200502/ai_n9477875 If not the club presidents number is on there i am sure he could point you in the right direction

RE: Where to Run Nitro Boats in or near StLouis Metro Area?
Ok here are a few more, We are really scraping the bottom of the barrel now... -Simpson County park -Suson park -there are a few more big lakes around but they are getting a little far away, baldwin lake, rend lake, and carlyle lake. Man id hate to have someone move here and not be able to enjoy there hobby. There has to be somewhere for you to enjoy your boat. I think you are going to be hard pressed to find anywhere where you can call and they are going to be like "sure come on over and run that loud boat" but i dont think many of these park lakes will get you kicked out. On the other hand it is a lot of work to pack all your gear up and then be told to leave 5 min after you get there. I normally run mine at my lake down at lake of the ozarks area. But there has to be some local place to run these at. We need to find a sutiable place and meet up!!!

RE: Where to Run Nitro Boats in or near StLouis Metro Area?
Hrmm i would just take your boat out to bush wild life. If you have not ever been out there there are 35 different lakes. And most of the time there is nobody around at most of the lakes. Park rangers are far and few inbetween. And if one happens to come by just play dumb :) A few of the lakes are rather large and way in the back of the park. I am sure you could find something to fit you need out there. Or if you would come a little further west there is Lake Saint Louis. They have two large lakes out there where you can run with a lot of clear shore line.

RE: The "Flight Sim for Mac" Protest!
Well the RC sim marked is already so minimal they have to charge $200 per sim. Now mac has what like 5% of the computer market there is NO way the developer could recup the cost of developing the software for the mac...

RE: Brand new bum g3 tx
yah i got in touch with real flight and they are shipping me out a new Sim, should be here today i hope!!! Yah after they said they would send me a new one i opened up the TX, it was the little tab that broke. I cant beleive that futaba would make something as flimsy as that. I dont see it standing up to a few years of use with out breaking.

Brand new bum g3 tx
Wow what a downer $200 bucks on a sim and i get the controler and its busted. The spring for the elevator controler is not attached i guess so the right stick just flops back and forth, no spring back action, sooo if i open it up to fix it will it void warranty or should i just send it in???? this sucks...

RE: The wind is calm
lets see $58 for AMA and prolly $100 for a year at a flying field, $0 to get an instructor to help you out. $158 is a heck of a lot cheaper than buying a new plane every time you crash, which will be a lot with out a instructor

RE: How dumb would it be to start flying a PTS without a trainer?
ok you live in BFE and you want to learn on your own. You could very well succed but the chances are not in your favor for sure. I know you said you want to start with nitro but there are a few EPP trainers out there now that could be a better route for you to take. They are electric but EPP can take a crash or 2 and keep on comming. If this is a hobby that you are interested in staying around in for a long time there will be plenty of time to fly a nice big gasser. But do your self a BIG favor and get a trainer. If not you will just get pissed off and quit the hobby.

Need a few opinions please
Ok i consider myself a intermediate flyer, i have not had any experience with electric flight as of yet. Due to road expansion i lost my flying sight and i am now getting into smaller electric stuff. Ok in a trade i aquired this gear http://secure.hobbyzone.com/catalog/HZ/eflite/eflite_brushless/EFLM1300.html motor http://secure.hobbyzone.com/catalog/HZ/eflite/eflite_esc/EFLA311B.html speed control http://www.modelflight.com.au/rc_model_radio_control/hitec_feather_4_channel.htm receiver http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXTX42&P=M servo two of these http://secure.hobbyzone.com/catalog/HZ/eflite/eflite_servos/ servo two of these I am looking for some suggestions at to what plane this gear will work well in. Looking for something that can handle 3d and such. But i am resticted to a field that is about 150 yards by 150 yards Any suggestions would be helpful, thanks
