RE: Good Mac simulators?
HAd the same problem with Phoenix and my Macbook Pro. I found if you are having trouble with Phoenix finding that the cable (dongle) is hooked to the USB port then try using a powered usb port conected to the Mac. Worked like a charm for me after that. Now I'm considering realflight 6
ORIGINAL: scud BUT HOW?!?!?! I run a Mac Book Pro, not the newest gen, it's 1 older. 4gb ram, super machine. I CAN NOT make this damned thing run phoenix in bootcamp nor parralels - would love some input, and would love to know WTF I'm doing wrong!!! thanks in advance! -n
RE: TF GS P47 Build - yeah another bloody one!!
Hey guys I was thinking of putting one of these together and had a few questions. I'll also attempt to read thru this whole thread....LOL What are the best servos I can get for this that are not crazy in price? I'm assuming digitals? I'd like to put a DLE 55 in her but am worried about getting the drilling/bolt pattern right on the firewall. Any advice/templates..links to threads that might help. Does this bird tend to be tail heavy? If so, would it make sense to put a bigger motor? If I need to add weight might as well be with Horse Power :) Any advice would be great

RE: Hangar 9 30cc P-47 Build Thread
Those of you going electric on this baby....How would you think the eflite 160 would compare to a gas setup...I mean, what CC gas would equal the eflite 160? I want to try electric but would hate to get all the goods and go...YUK, it's too slow. John, you mentioned the Evo 40 did a fair job at pulling her around. If you had to do it over, what would you go with. I'm in Michigan so sea level is not an issue. I'd like to have some spare speed. I also don't want to have to try to modify the daylights out of the firewall etc to get a motor to fit. Any other evo as a drop in choice? Thanks

RE: Hangar 9 30cc P-47 Build Thread
John, Ron, thanks for the answers. Cool idea on the retracts too NJM ! you just bought the Robart pnumatics and converted with the LAdo elec actuators? John, what do you think could be the largest gas motor you could fit in this without any mods to the firewall or cutting on the cowl. Do you think a DLE 55 would bolt up to the firewall and not have to much hanging out of the cowl? Thanks again guys. Think my local place is gonna trade me the P-47 they just got in for one of my heli's :) I'll look it over real good again to make sure no bobo's Joe

RE: Top Flite Giant Corsair ARF Disappeared.
Hey Guys Another tip for not yanking plugs out of the RX is to use a little shoe goo on the plugs once they are in the RX. Like a little shoe goo bridge between plug and RX. Heli guy showed me this and I do it now with everything. The nice thing is when needed, it peels right off Just thought I'd share

RE: Hangar 9 30cc P-47 Build Thread
I hope you put some of those pics in the box as well. Heck, they may think the damage happened shipping it to them! Cool they are gonna make good, but the wait really stinks! You would think for as much as you paid, as long as you waitied, they would of shipped one back out to you ASAP then ask for the defective one back. They should of asked for photos via email and that should of been confirmation enough. You did nothing wrong here and you are the one who has to wait!!! Kind of sounds like customer service from the same folks who made the darn thing! (hint hint). Hey John, forward the pics to the Customer Service department and ask them to send Ron the plane he paid for now and not have him wait for something Horizon or the "Help" they contracted did wrong. Now that would be Cutomer Service !!!! Can ya tell I got up on the wrong side of the bed.

RE: Sebart Wind 110
Must of just read your minds. I replaced all extensions and went over all connectors. I reaseated all connections on the rx and used a little shoe goo to keep em in place. Something I do with my helis....they vibrate a lot. Gonna try again tonight. Just realized as well I have the 18x10 prop on my hacker. I see you guys trying the 18x12. Is this ok on the hacker I have with 8S set up? what does the 18x12 do for me? HAcker A50 16L APC or Xoar?

RE: Sebart Wind 110
Time for a new Futaba RX..Hmm, I could rob from peter to pay paul. I'm sure I have a plane that never gets flown and has a RX in it. I Did have a small fray in a servo extension for the ailerons. I changed it out. I wonder if tha could of done something? Changed out all extensions and might as well do the RX for good measure. Maybe it was wind shear...LMAO

Yea, I was afraid of that...Dang those things get expensive. Several guys at the club are using the Orange Hobby King ones but I can't bring myself to trust them at all. Hmmm, maybe I should try :)
ORIGINAL: Bill Clark I would be doing and extensive range check and probably replace the rx but thats just me. 2.4 aint supposed to do that
RE: Sebart Wind 110
I looked at my data and its obviously wrong. The prev owner had it set for 2 pole motor. How many poles is the HAcker A50-16L? Did have a odd takeoff on one flight. Got about 2 feet off the ground and all of the sudden t goes full right aileron for just a sec..I saved it thank god but not sure why that happened? One of the guys at the field said it was a good old fasioned glitch? Futaba 2.4.. Freaked me out, sort of dont trust it now

RE: Sebart Wind 110
Got another set of Batteries and the weight is off by 26 grams per battery. How bad does this affect me and the way the plane flies if I place them in the same spot as the lighter batteries? I thought I read here someplace that battery weight is not that critical because it's close to the CG?? Thanks guys

RE: Trimming Questions
Hmmm Time to go buy a incidense meter....Learning every day Thanks Garfield...Good info on the wind as well
ORIGINAL: Gulliver I had the sme trouble with my Sequence and finally noited that the holes for the anti-rotaion pin in one wing had been drilled oversized a little so that when I glued in the pin it was at slight angle and changed the incidence of that wing. I used an incicdence meter (Horizon Hobby) to set it even with the other wing by enlarging the hole in the fuse and using a piece of light ply to secure it.
