RE: security at the field
Thieves and vandals are the scum of the earth because the only other choice they have is to get a job. They are also afraid of light and cameras. Even FAKE cameras. 12 V sensor lights if 120v is not available. Don't play cop. The judicial system has granted these scum more rights in a court of law then you have. Good luck guys, keep us posted.

RE: Angry with saito 100!
Check your valve clearance. Your exhaust valve is not closing or is stuck in the open position. 1. needle valve 3 turns out= Extreme amount of fuel needed to keep engine running because it is being blown out raw through the open exhaust valve .port 2. Throttle high to low= takes awhile for all the excess unnecessary raw fuel to burn off. 3 . five turns or three= There is no "fine adjustment" for your needle valve with an open valve just raw fuel flow. The valve clearance for the 100 should be a snug .0004 Good luck . Don't give up buddy these are great little engines but need pretty regular valve clearance checks. Larry

Removeing old airplane covering
I have been kit /scratch building for a long time now but removeing old covering (Monokote, Ultracote etc.) has always been tedious and time consumeing. I usually end up peeling off small strips with an exacto knife. I am ready to "strip and recover" a fine old model but will hold off for awhile to see if any of you can "teach an old dog new tricks". Any Ideas will be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Larry

RE: Should I Quit
Hi Luker. I'm a year older than you and just quit flying at a club where people were "crashing all over". In fact I quit because one of them hit me. Get with a competent instructor pilot. If after a serious go at it you and he are in agreement that you are safe I say "good for you" If it does'nt work out for you maybe it's time for "Grandpa to take the keys away from Grandpa". Good luck to you my friend.
