RE: what IS bashing?
If it's not on the track, then it's bashing. Even if it's in a parking lot with cones set up, it's bashing. Racing is done at the track.

RE: What's the WEIRDEST thing you ever ate??
Man, propellers must turn people into a$$holes. Oh wait, maybe it's not the props fault. Normally old, retired guys that chase kids out of their yards with sticks, talk more about flying planes and what they do to them than actually fly them. I guess they're jealous cuz we can just go in the front yard/street/sidewalk, wherever we may be, and get our R/C fix. They have to drive 150 miles one-way to get to a field where they can fly and hope they didn't forget the wings, transmitter, fuel, batteries, ignitor or chicken stick. You know how old people forget everything.

RE: Have you seen the Jaguar’s new 3-Series
Sorry, but the car is borrrrring. I've seen much better from Jaguar in the past. The XJ220 will always be Jag's king for me. Why copy other designers? Come up with something original and distinctive for a change. I used to be able to see a car's headlights in the dark and know exactly what it was, just by the shape of them. I miss those days. Everything is the same now.

RE: New kitten = grumpy 3 year old cat...Solutions?
Cats think they are the boss. They own the house, the food, and you. So when a new cat shows up, they are threatened by it and want it to get out of their territory. I'd be very surprised if the older cat ever accepts the new one. You could keep them separated for a year or so and fatten them up on Lasagna, that way they won't be able to fight.

RE: one way bearing question
Check the glow plug and then the rest of the engine for air leaks. When an engines temp increases, some metals expand more than others and air leaks can be made worse.

1/10 for Maxxes and 1/8 for Savage. My sister's idiot boyfriend put a 1/10 scale body on his Savage because he thought 1/10 was bigger than 1/8. DUH. It looks ridiculous. I would love to make a working dump truck body and bed for my monster.

RE: nitro or brushless.
They are both dirty, both can go too fast to turn and both will cost more money than you thought they would. Electric RTR? Still need good batts and charger. Nitro RTR? Need gas, ignitor, possibly low cost battery and charger for starting system, better get a couple extra glow plugs too. Either way it's fun. The excitement of driving after charging with electric and the excitement and anticipation caused by breaking in a nitro engine. If you have to re-tune your nitro every time you run it, you're definitely doing something wrong. I only have to turn my HSN 1/8 of a turn leaner or richer and it'll wrong like a champ anyday. Once you have the tune right, you will not have to adjust every run. My preference is definitely for nitro. I love the sound, smell and look when it's running. My electric cars/trucks are good for teaching my 8-year old how to drive and maintain a real RC car/truck though. However I will say, on smaller tracks, I've gotten my ass handed to me by guys driving electrics against my nitro. There's something to be said for instant max torque from the start. Clean up is a PITA either way.

RE: THE LOUNGE 3...
So, since I'm moving to Iowa, what off-road R/C trucks do ya'll recommend I get for the snow? [>:] This is gonna be fun. Gotta be off-road and gotta be a monster. Obviously electric as well. I'll have the electrics for spring/fall/winter and the nitros for summer.

RE: Black dust on chassis next to clutch
I definitely wouldn't worry about the oil in the exhaust coming into the tank. I've never seen that happen. Push the tube in 1/4 to 3/8 inch. The black square hole you are asking about looks like it's for holding the pull start string, but since you have a rotostart, you don't have to worry about it.

RE: Black dust on chassis next to clutch
Brakes should make it slow down and stop quickly without locking up the tires. I set my brakes as hard as possible without lock up. Also remember to smoothly put the brakes on, don't just ram the trigger forward as fast as possible. You've got to remain in control of the car/truck. Some black dust is normal for the clutch.

RE: Relocating
Iowa's definitely a nice place to be. I haven't found a place yet. We are going to rent until we find a house we want to buy. Houses in CR are fairly cheap. North Liberty and IC's housing costs have risen quite a bit. It would be more expensive for me to stay in NL or IC than CR. Mt. Vernon could be an option. I'll know when I run across the right place. Till then I'll keep searching. I'm looking forward to trying the tenderloin sandwiches and going to the Amana colonies and Millstream. I'm not an ice cream fan though.

RE: CD Repair machines
This last disc I had repaired cost me $5 at Game Stop. Dave's right about replacing the discs. Or just download the songs you know you like on the disc. I can't think of many discs I have where I like all the songs. It's normally only about half the songs I will listen to regularly on any disc.

RE: CD Repair machines
Used game stores like GameStop will resurface your disks cheap. They have the professional equipment and it works very well. Anything under $100 isn't going to resurface anything very well. You could also try getting some 1500 grit sandpaper from Ace Hardware or True Value, put it on a vibratory sander and try resurfacing that way.

RE: Relocating
Thanks Dave! Thankfully I will be more relaxed for this interview as I've already got a job offer from another company. A lot of stress lifted knowing that no matter what happens, I have a job. I am shocked as well that they aren't hiring someone that already lives there. It is definitely quite an expense to fly someone in, then give them a rental car and a hotel room just for an interview. I could understand if they were looking for an Executive, but I'm in Maintenance and the job I applied for is in Maintenance as well.
