RE: KMP Corsair
Yes, it is the KMP Corsair. BTW Don. I discovered on my LG that the slop was caused by the axle and wheel not matching. The hole in the hub was larger than the axle diameter. I had to drill the hub out to 7/32, insert a piece of 7/32 brass tube and drill THAT out with a 5mm bit to fit the axle! No slop now! Larry

RE: KMP Corsair
Don, I was there Saturday. Got one really nice flight in, but got into a PIO on landing and took out the nose gear so I didn't come back Sunday. What a nice field. We had 64 pilots registered! I'm starting in on the landing gear now. Any tips! Larry

RE: KMP Corsair
Johnny. What part scares you? I'm using pull-pull on rudder and elevator. I got some 1/32 kevlar thread from McMaster. I've used this before and it works fine.BTW on the flaps-you do need a strong servo, but with the carbon rod , when they go down they are SOLIDno chance of blowback!Larry

RE: KMP Corsair
No problem at all with sliding and it's very solid-carbon fibre does not move much! BTW, in talking with Andrew Kondor , he mentioned using a dry graphite on the metal joiners if that is what you are using.Larry

RE: KMP Corsair
After stressing about the flaps, I finally took idea's from a bunch of people and came up with a fix that works for me. I got some .050 solid carbon rod and used that to replace the wire joiner. BTW, it says nothing about the tube in the flaps but I found them anyway! The rod bends naturally as the flaps go down ,slides well ,and it's very solid . Blowback should not be a problem. I also used the Robart large hinges at a 45 degree angle instead of the kit ones.Looking forward to getting it in the air!Larry Sutherland

RE: KMP Corsair
Hi Everyone. I just got my Corsair and it looks very good. After reading this thread tho, I have a severe headache ! It's about the FLAPS! Is there a final "fix" that is agreed will work for these? For instance , I don't see any kind of tube for the wires to slide in- there is just a hole in the balsa ! It doesn't say if one side of the wire needs to be epoxied . The drawing also doesn't show if the bend needs to be curved like the flaps, or a sharp bend. Help Please!! I'll be using a Saito 170. The kit gear looks solid . I'm looking forward to getting it in the air. I appreciate any advice! Larry Sutherland

RE: Hanger9 P-47 Thunderbolt 150 assembly notes.
After seeing several P-47's fly, I'm thinking of buying one. I'd like to use a Saito 170 radial, but don't have a kit here to see if it would fit the cowl. It's 6" from rear to prop drive. The engine width [circumference] is a little over 7" and the cylinders are an inch and a half back from the prop. I'd sure appreciate any help I can get!

RE: GTM Hanriot Build
Randy, I've followed your saga from the beginning, and also enjoyed the dvd from Dick Hansen of the Idaho Qualifier, where you had some nice flights. It's all been an inspiration for my build. I just finished flying my Yak 9U at the Hemet Scalemasters and am now devoting all my time to finishing up my Hanriot. Would it be possible to correspond directly with you via email? My address is larrysu@csufresno.edu Thanks! Larry Sutherland Prather Ca.
