RE: RC Surfer
ORIGINAL: metaldog
ORIGINAL: Kmot I thought about buying one more for parts if needed. I got mine from Walmart and used a friend's discount card so it was around $77 after the discount. Here are some pics of the Board Sharks Surfer:
I just picked this Board Sharks Surfer up on red tag clearance at Walmart for 21.75! I feel really good about that now that I see it was going for 77 dollars! My 9 year old will love it! Gonna take alot of wrapping paper to wrap it! haha I will get some videos of it running on our pond after the new year, and post them here. I am looking forward to seeing the stock performance.

Todd, you have had a "bur under your saddle" for me ever since then ( your crash ). Get it right, I offered you a FULL refund, AND a free kit of which you said, no. You never complained about the kit's quality or contents on that Zero until AFTER you crashed it. If you were so unhappy with the plywood chosen you should have said something to me about it the day you opened the box, NOT after you had a hard landing and broke your gear off your wing.

RE: laser lizard and smith B-17
Well, here is an example of what happens when you don't stay current on what is being said about you on RCU. I have been very busy for the past few months and I havent chatted or posted on this forum in a while. Today I did a search and found these comments. If I promised to cut a kit or offered to cut a kit < I would not have ignored anyone. If I have offended any of the above posters, it is news to me. Very seldom do I even hear of anyone that is unhappy with my work, but when I do I offer refunds or recuts. To the contrary, I hear compliments and happy customers. I never ignored anyone. Please contact me if you have any issues further. I am still in business and I do not ignore anyone. I have lot's of happy customers that like the work I do, and I will be glad to talk to any of you. Call me or email me if you want to talk about any of this. Jesse

RE: Aerobird X-treme Review
I juat got mine today. I did what you did and just charged and flew. I only got about 5 minutes of flight time. I hope that with several discharge and charge cycles my battery will come alive! I messed up and didnt put the tail rubber band on! It still flew ( amazingly ). Tip - read the manual! LOL Tough bird! Cant wait to fly it tomorrow with it set up right!

RE: Any reason not to by Aerobird Extreme?
I got my aerobird today and test flew it. Boy , did I make a stupid beginner mistake. I got into a hurry and didnt read the manual thoroughly. I flew 3 flights WITHOUT the tail rubber band in place..... NO WONDER, I didnt have any DOWN input! hahah had to use throttle management to lower the bird and glide in safely. Took me 3 flights of almost constant climbing to realize what was wrong. hahahaha I am glad I took advice found here and put that rubber band on the battery hatch, though! I hit hard a couple times, gear in tall grass. I am going to take those gear off tomorrow and boy, it sure is gonna fly better with some DOWN, input! hahah those tail pieces were just flaping in the wind with now band on them. hahahhah I will wait for the laughter now. FUn airplane, and very good to handle as well as it did , set up wrong on my part. I put it on pro mode thank god, or i would have been in serious trouble!

RE: Any reason not to by Aerobird Extreme?
Man, that is too cool. Love the video. I wanna get one of those soon. I have an f-27 stryker also. I fly it quite often. Got after some large white birds ( egrets ) this evening.. gave them quite a run for it! hahaha it was very fun. Cant wait to fly combat with something other than large fowl. hahahaha You should post some how to instructions on setting up the camera on the plan and pictures of the install, etc. I am sure others would like that too.

RE: F27 Stryker 8-Cell
I love my F-27. I fly mine almost everyday. I have 3 of the stock batteries for it. I am thinking of getting an AeroBird Extreme as a second fun plane. How does it compare to the f-27 in flight? My dad is 60 and he has soloed on an gas trainer. Do you guys think a beginner can handle that aerobird ? Would I be bored with it after flying the f-27? Any of you guys ever catch your f-27? I have mastered that and it's fun to get it up , chop the throttle and glide in and fly it to yourself and catch it. Anyone else doing that? :)

RE: Megatech P51
By the way, the above link to the " guy that got it to fly " supposedley.... that guy was in taiwan and he had the " aileron " version of this airplane. Not the rudder and elevator version I am sure we americans have. I wager NO ONE has gotten this RTF to fly. Battery placement doesnt help either. I have put the battery up under the servos, too and it didnt help the fact that this bird is underpowered with supplied motor and battery. blah

RE: Megatech P51
My father recently bought one of these pieces of junk, too. I have just read the first 5 posts to this thread and I Had to add my experience is just like - drvcrash, kirkpull, trying to fly, et al. This thing is unflyable . They should be ashamed to marked such an airplane on the market! They should take it off the market. It is unflyable. I have ten years of glow powered rc experience under my belt. I also fly park flyers. The F-27 stryker is an angel, and flies great because it is LIGHT. The megatech p51 is TOO heavy and under powered and un responsive on the controls. It makes me happy to know that at least me and my father are not the only ones to have had problems with this bird. I see someone posted a link to the ' video " of it flying. Well, I suspect that airplane in the video is the ARF and not the heavy RTF. The video is what fooled my father into dumping 200 dollars on this airplane.... if you can call it that. On my first flight I nosed in and broke the rudder control horn off. I had to cut into the fuse nose to get to the darn servos! NO access at all designed in there to service them. I then replaced the control rod with a smaller one to fit into the METAL tube they put in there. Who uses metal tubes for control lines? Talk about asking for vibration to come into the radio area! IT still flew terribly after testing again. UP , and into a stall and down again it goes! NO CONTROL at all. Might as well be a free flight. WHat about that elevator? with it's weak halves? One half works alost independently of the other because of the weak wire in it. IF anyone is thinking about buying this SKIP IT! Go with the parkzone F-27 striker instead. IT flies perfectly.

isnt part of modeling starting as many projects as you have room for and working on them when you feel like it? I think we all have some partially started models somewhere... let's see... I have 2 wings built on 2 kits..... haha not scratch built , though.

Giving credit where credit is due!
You guys are too nice to me! Thanks, so much for all of the kind words... you make me blush. But, I must say I sure have never been happier..... since I started my own business. I cannot believe the response from my happy customers! I love rc and love cutting wood! Let's all thank the Lord and Proflooney because (due to our friendship - he provided all of the ziroli cad work that he had drawn on his own)........I was able to offer such a large selection of short kits when I first started... That man is a master! And a good friend and customer , too!!!!! When I left my old job, good ole Proflooney sent me his tracing files to help me get a good start! And the list continues to grow as he and I work together on more drawings! I thank him everyday! Good flying and looking forward to the future and the wonderful building days to come! Thanks again, guys! PS I am about to take some pictures of the just finished Ziroli Corsair short kit that Prolooney and I just finished drawings on! ( Which I believe is what this whole discussion started out about! hehe)
