RE: Just got back into the hobby *updated PICS*
Eh the springs on the truck now are shorter than the ones that came with the aluminum shocks, I am sure the shafts will be fine... If they bend, they bend. I went with the ribbed pipe for sound and for low end, I wanted it to be loud and obnoxious and be tuned for the holeshot. What gearing is everyone else running?
ORIGINAL: MGT the nex X box is about $12 and it will be safe..its a LOT better than the old one you have.
Eh I like the 'unique' look I guess haha. Gonna start up the Savage tomorrow for the first time, running 18/52 gearing, should be interesting. The STi put down 310hp and 340 ft/lbs to the wheels on a 4wd Mustang Dyno. Runs like a champ, 11.5 a/f all the way across. I am surprised no one has bashed me about taking off the roll bar yet haha. This Savage is incredibly light for some reason, but hey lighter is better...

This is my 4th Savage and I HATE the radio box with a passion. I always like to do my own unique setup. The RX is high enough so it wont get knocked into anything and I don't really drive it in much mud/water.

So I just finished building up my Savage. Axial .28, XL TVPs, T-Maxx wing setup, Ofna linkage, built diffs and shocks... the pics explain the rest. RE: clutch bad? and cold weather run??
Well take apart the clutch and check if the springs are rubbing and check for wear on the shoes. You can put foil around the heatsink to get the engine warmed up but you might want to take it off once the engine has reached operating temperature.

RE: NEED HELP AND ADVICE FROM EXPERIENCED PEOPLE TO CHOOSE THE RIGHT MONSTER TRUCK
ORIGINAL: rcnitrohead Wow, some of you guys are pretty biased and thats just sad.. They are just trucks, try not act like children and say this one is better wah wah wah.... They all excell in their specialty which is bashing for the Savage and racing for Revo... Note North Star, that the S-maxx is the exact same thing as a T-maxx except for the 4WD and Reverse. The length and track is identical.... Enigmamdw, the T-maxx is the crappiest basher out of all of the popular MT's out today[8|] I own a T-maxx and Savage I would know.. Crazzyrevo, before you say that, try actually owning a Savage and you will know that the diffs are strong as hell and the truck is a machine, being biased helps no one[8|] And if you were talking about the new standard shimmed diffs on the Savage, then you are a noob and shouldnt even be giving advice on the subject...[&:][sm=thumbs_down.gif]
True. I have owned 2 Savage SSs, 2 Revos and a T-Maxx and I love the Savage and Revo. The Savage and Revo take a beating, where as the T-Maxx, ehh not so much. The Revo def takes the Savage on the track but my God you can take down people with a Savage at 35mph haha. I'd say go with whichever one looks more appealing, they're both awesome trucks.

RE: Dang Revo doesn't trun!!
Hows the battery pack? Might want to put a thicker weight in the front and thinner in the rear so your car 'pulls' around the turn instead of 'pushes' (with the rear).

RE: t-maxx .15- is bad acc. and torque normal?
Re-tune your LSN. Be very careful though. What is your gearing? As for the swerving, check your steering assembly and servo saver in case you broke or lost a bushing or if a screw is loose.

RE: My Forst RC Purchase
Check this out: http://www.rcnitrotalk.com/564/waterproofing-your-rc/ To wash it off, you should take apart some parts but you probably won't have to disassemble the whole thing. Check for places where sand collects and focus there because sand can squeeze into small places. Use a compressed air can, carb cleaner (aka - nitro cleaner) and some finger grease.

RE: My Forst RC Purchase
Sand I have run my trucks in the sand many-a-time and the only thing you really have to worry about it getting the sand out of the shocks/drivetrain area once you finish bashing. Grease+sand=mess. Compressed air is a good tool to have... or carb spray. Water Look into plasti-dipping your servos and receiver to keep water out of them and you should be okay. You're obviously not going to be able to completely submerge your truck though. Be sure not to get the air filter wet. Salt Yes salt can corrode things very easily. Just be sure to wash off your truck when you're done. WD-40 is good to spray on shocks/drivetrain. I'd personally go with a Revo or T-Maxx. I am nitro biased. T-Maxx will be easier to work on but at the end of the day, the Revo is an all around better truck (better in regards to durability, design, suspension...) Do some searches on the site, you'll find a lot of info.

It is manufactured to a certain length for a reason. Best bet is to move the RX

RE: can u help me!!
1. 30% 2. Try 30 (front) - 50 (center) - 10 (rear) 3. Break in the engine with the stock parts. Or else you will have a hard time getting it to run and run at the right temps during the first couple tanks. 4. Be sure to use alcohol to clean off the carb neck and backplate and such to remove all oil/fluids before you apply the sealant. 5. Up to you. Im a pullstart fan but if you are willing to dish out money for a starter box then be my guest.
