RE: Return of Lunchbox..
im here. not very often but im here :) thats a lot of alu in your box. i fitted the double wishbone front suspesion and its a massive improvement.. i also moddified a madbull gearbox to fit and that raised the speed and keeps the front on the floor.

RE: UNOFFICAL Tamiya Blackfoot Thread
my original blackfoot runs the hex shafts with a technigold motor, and my brat runs standard dog bones and no differential both seem to be ok with c.v. joint grease packed in there. messy but works great.

RE: Return of Lunchbox..
well i know now that the lunchbox gearbox is the best... i put the 8 cell battery in my lunchbox (using madbull gearbox) and it lasted about 2 mins before stripping the gears.. but it flies !! video is on its way!

RE: Return of Lunchbox..
to HWA224.. my lunchbox started out as a gold edition, but it took a couple of hard bashes and i decided to rebuild it. but i wanted to try to make it different, i fitted the fx10 front arms to give it the double wishbones at the front... no more silly camber. but the front was wider than the rear, i had a spare madbull gearbox that is wider than the lunchbox's but a very similar design.. a bit of cutting here and a tweak there and it fits perfectly. the suspension is a bit of a mix using shortened blackfoot springs and fighter buggy shock towers. kinda works, very fast with a 15t motor and the higher gear ratio.. front wheels stay on the ground but corners hurt.. my 9.6v battery will be going on charge soon but takes up to 4 days

RE: Return of Lunchbox..
i put a msc in my lunchbox, and ran a 2400 (7.2v) pack through it.. with the madbull gearbox, 15t motor and instant punch it tries to wheelie, not the best at cornering still even with fx10 front suspension. too top heavy. not been brave enough to run a 9.6v pack yet. but it should fly!!! and catch fire probably.

RE: Return of Lunchbox..
i used to use the little rubber caps that come on the end of the antena tubes.. they are a stretch but fit well... now i have double wishbone front arms it seems to not have any play at all.

RE: The holy grail: Tamiya Porsche 959 4WD restoration thread
here is my celica, i think it started life as a 959 but i for prefer the celica body shape, it now has full metal bearings, stabiliser kit, original msc, i have completely stripped it back to nothing and built it up again, there are 3 cracked parts but nothing major, one rear lower arm, one rear upright and the front bracket that holds the front bumper and stabiliser on. the front gearbox was siezed, just very sticky and hard grease, the technigold is mint inside but the lable is peeling, the body had some minor cracks but nothing i cant live with. i bought a blue groove replacement body to keep unpainted for display. and yes i have used it outside, it is fast.. very fast, quiet and smoothe. i will use it again!!!

i was looking for a set of white montery wheels when i stumbled on these, great price for a set of aluminum wheels, nice and clean, not too much bling, suit the tyres perfectly and run as true as can be. still need the white ones though for my other lunchbox. been a while since i had this out of its bag, still dont know what those tyres are though

RE: UNOFFICAL Tamiya Blackfoot Thread
my original is finnished!!! found a set of mint wheels and the original tyres went on these.. the car wont drive on these because the wheels spin inside them and i dont want to glue them. i have a set of rear wheels with MB tyres glued on for driving. fitted with metal bearings and a sport tuned motor, everything else is stock. decals are repro because im waiting for the blackfoot 3 body to be avilable as this one is scuffed in places.

tamiya mad bull special.. how rare?
i have just finnished restoring this mad bull.. i think its called a "mad bull special" i know the shocks should be red but i had blue ones going spare, it has a grey chassis and front arms, the wheels are chrome.. the originals were battered but looked like wild willy 2 wheels so i put them on, it has a mechanical speed controller and custom made front and side windows. but the cool thing is the gearbox.. its clear!! there are a few scuffs on it but i cant find a replacement anywhere!! there are brand new gears in the box and they are coloured. soooo cool. so any ideas how rare it is? cheers people!
