RE: The complete YELLOW AIRCRAFT SPITFIRE thread.
Brad3301 the color scheme was picked from my sons small scale spitfire metal model. The paint samples are from Model Masters then matched by the PPG dealer in town. The dark green looked to dark for me but was an exact match to the Model Master line of paints. The exhaust was made out of 3/16 square steel and tubes as close as possible to the diameter of the Yellow Aircraft exhaust ones. I selected steel because is the only thing I can weld. Also, the steel reduces the noise considerably and adds the weight to the nose. I needed 18 oz of nose weight to ballance her out. Doing a scale exhaust did not take that long. I do have a custom muffller that was made for my spitfire thats a wrap around. Nice tight fit for the DLE 55 that I can sell if anyone wants it for the spitfire

RE: Giant Scale P-47 Thunderbolt from Hangar 9
Way to costly for solartex or whatever they use to cover it. Without retracts deal breaker, just buy a kit and build it will last longer. I had the P-47 150 it was ok, film started falling off.

TBM Stinson reliant SR-9
Anyone seen or hear anything about a new Stinson Reliant SR-9 ARF from troybuilt models? I reserved one since I have always loved the look of the Stinson. I have a Top Flite kit at home but have never oppened the box to start building it.

RE: Flyeagle Rafale Pipe failure
It would be wise and responsible to take corrective action if damage to any jet occurs via a wet start. If such is the case then aircraft should not be flown. I have gone out to the field and had problems less severe and scratched my flight, gone home and corrected the problem. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. We need to protect our hobby and as Bob Violet has stated before, " The safe operation of turbine powered model aircraft requires a higher level of experience in building, installation of equipment and flying than other types of R/C models. To enjoy our freedom, we must be ever vigilant, act responsibly, and demonstrate that we can govern ourselves. The AMA needs our help in this regard, so let us all know the AMA Safety Code and Turbine Waiver regulations and abide by them. We have enjoyed our sport for many years with an excellent safety record.

I have done it twice while programing servo travel. They burn to a crisp with the all familiar electronic burnt smell. Agree binding is the culprit.

RE: Extreme Jets/Skymaster Quality Control???
Add Fei Bao to your list, this the reply I got from them when I asked the for a solution to my retract problem. I dont' think you can fix it, nor we are, because it can not install with bigger cylinder retract. though we have bigger cylinder retract.   I think you have to fly it with gear door can not close for a while.   Catherine

Hey that's a great idea!! I wanted to make the fake cylinder and attach it to the retract to make look scale. I guess I can figure the geometry and make it work. What length of cylinder is used in the picture supplied? Thanks
