RE: 2012 Christmas Gifting
This thread is to promote the holiday spirit. There are a few rules with this thread. #1 One gift per person. We changed this to per week after the 15th of Dec. last year. See rule #6 [;)] #2 No asking for parts #3 Give as many gifts as you want #4 Be cordial!!! we are all friends here [:D] #5 Common practice is for the recipient to pay for shipping, but giver can pay if he so chooses (I shipped out mine last year trying to keep in the giving spirit) #6 One Item per week. We will have to set when it all ends. We started last year Dec. 1st and ran thru the New Year.

2012 Christmas Gifting
Hay guys and gals. I know it is still realy early to be thinking about christmas, but it would be great to start seeing what we all have that might be laying around that would be able to go to a new home and help our fellow boaters out.

RE: the unofficial home of the dumas dauntless
Rich, I may have a suggestion on improving the input and efficiency of the water intakes for your cooling. Because they are flush mount on the bottom of the boat you may want to make a small scoop out of half a round of tubing and attach it to the holes. Much like with suggestion I made for the wind unit you made. this will increase the amount of water going into them even at low speeds. if you do them right they will not slow the boat down too much. Rich, you are so right a happy wife makes for a happy life :) I am going to be taking my kids to my work party (go see a Baseball game) to give her some time by her self while she is in the hospital. (She told me it was a good idea) I have had to put my boat building on hold for 4 years now. It sucks. I wish I had picked up a kit and not decided to just build the hole thing my self now as I would more then likely be done and on the water. Lee PS have you heard from Butch??

RE: the unofficial home of the dumas dauntless
ORIGINAL: dauntlessfan Here you go, Rich, hope these help [;)]
Rich, Are you going to make the radar move? If so have you looked into using a vibration motor from a cell phone contected to the radar. They tend to run about the same size or smaller as the dowl in the dumas drawings. The dowl could be drilled out to acomidate the motor and depending on the power input the moter will rotate at the speed you desire for relistic effect.

RE: the unofficial home of the dumas dauntless
Glad that you are and your family are good DF. Rich is right, Roofs are replaceable. I know as on Dec. 1st we had a large wind storm rip into my town here in Utah with speeds clocked at 120 mph one street over from my home and people had lots of damage, including my home, and we are all glad that everyone was safe and have been taking our time fixing things up. I have spent most of my days off of work replacing sprinkler lines that were ruined when trees were ripped from the ground and also removing tree stumps. My next task is to replace some shingles on my roof. I know what it must feel like for you. Glad you’re safe. Those hail balls are big. They look as if they were the size of a tennis ball before they started to melt.

RE: the unofficial home of the dumas dauntless
I think that it would look even better if you placed a spray rail on the front like in the photo of Dauntless. That would make the spray be directed back down towards the water and would look more relistic. As is the spray looks more like a sheet of water coming off the bow in my opinion. It looks great and I love the work you have done to it Bill
