RE: GP Waco?
Great post erans and congratulations on a successful maiden flight. The Saito must sound beautiful doing a nice scale low pass with your Waco. I expect you will get a fair bit more thrust with the 16x6 prop.

RE: Introducing the new 90-1.20 Yak QB
The Aeroworks 90-1.20 Yak is the worst flying airplane I have ever flown and I've flown a lot. Gave the thing away to a pal, a better pilot than me and he hated it. Parted the thing out and sold the airframe. Most of the AW planes are great but this one, not so much.

One thing I know, the second build of an airplane is quicker and easier. Don't ask me how I know this. :-)
ORIGINAL: cannonball200 I finally got time to glue the combing around the cockpits. Also, I drew the outlines around the door & storage compartment and used the handle's decals and the hinge's decals that came with the kit. If it ever gets below 108* I will get it out and fly some more. Also finally got the new pilot in... Thanks,
Cannonball, what size combing did you use? The detailing looks great!

RE: GP Waco?
FWIW, I have used the two pushrod clamped together setup on several airplanes. It doesn't seem like it would work but it does. I do add some JB Weld to the setup for overkill.
ORIGINAL: Hill202 I don't think the OS 95 FS is going to be enough.
I have the new OS 95 FS to mount in my Waco. I think it will be fine for scale-like flight and it fits entirely in the cowl, I'll let you know when the club flying field (aka a swamp) drains in a couple months.

RE: GP Waco?
ORIGINAL: MormonMike Still seeing some tendency to try and nose over on landing. Could fuel sloshing back and forth cause a problem ? It's an 18 ounce tank. Could the mains be too far back, should they have been built about a 1/2 inch more forward ? mm PS, it's balanced right at the factory marks.
Mike, that is puzzling. Nobody else seeing this tendency? You are an experienced flyer so I sure wouldn't insult you by asking a bunch of obvious questions but please let us know how and when you get it sorted out.

RE: GP Waco?
Electronic mixing of the aileron differential is important in my book. There's a review of this GP Waco in the July issue of the AMA Model Aviation magazine. Tom Sullivan notes as I have proposed that the model is overpowered with the OS 95AX. I am still thinking to fly mine with the OS FS95 and have a nice clean cowl, good sound and nearer to scale flight. Here's the page with Youtube flight video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0mNdxxLRdMo Build video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pq1Oh9Ml2kA
ORIGINAL: MormonMike LeeDees, How's your Saito 1.15 doing ? Can't find a way to PM you. MM
It's a very strong engine, it was a little finicky to break in and tune. RE: GP Waco?
ORIGINAL: AncientCityFlyer Leedees, I agree with Skillet92 that the .91 would fly it, but marginally. I have a GP P-6 Hawk and the manual called for a 91 4 stroke. I originally put a Saito 125 in it and it flew ok. Finally changed out to a Saito 180. I agree it is a bit over powered but it keeps me out of trouble with the extra power. I can't see how a .91 would have flown the Hawk

I know i've raised the question before but now that we have a few of the guys with some actual flight time on the Waco, does anyone think my idea of flying it with the OS FS91 will work? I point out that many GP Stearmans have been flown successfully with the FS91.

RE: Aero-Works high quality not apparent on SLOW website.
AW's site is the problem. Even those 9-17 second response times are slow compared to most e-commerce sites. The problem is also intermittent, better on some occasions intolerable on others. Maybe unable to handle many connections?

Aero-Works high quality not apparent on SLOW website.
I noticed the slooooooowww aero-works.net website peformance on several previous occasions and just wrote it off to internet congestion. I have 12 meg internet service. Now, after to speaking to others in my club they have also noted the same thing and sometimes give up in frustration. I am attempting to place an order at this very moment but the site just hangs. The boys at Aero Works would serve their customers and the their bottom line by finding a better website hosting service.

RE: OS FS95V
Duck, i'm very curious about this engine as well. Apparently they haven't sold one yet so maybe I'll buy the first one :-) I note that it is not a 'Surpass' so I wonder if the crankcase vent is the same setup as others in the Surpass line? Also the new Jetstream muffler or whatever they call it is an item of interest. Anyway, here's a bump to help us get a report from the field.

I saw that too, it may be legit. I have noted oftentimes storefront dealers will receive airplanes and new radios etc before the big online/catalog sellers have them in stock, both Tower and Horizon. I just wish Tower or GP would put the manual online for this Waco.
