i will say this.... the tornado isnt really a arf in my opioin is almost borderline kit and yes it has issues that need to be addressed and they take time to address them. ive built both v2 and v3 and was throwing every curse word i knew at both of them. but once its in the air and u see how well it performs then all the headaches from building one go away.

let me say this, i thought i would post vid to HELP anyone that needed it because when i built my first one thier wasnt anything really out there so that i could see what they did. Now, i do not represent modellbau, nor do i get paid from them, and since i have posted the new v3 i get about 3-5 emails a day just asking questions about how i did this or that. a hand full of people ive even given out my number so they could talk with me in person to help. But the nasty emails for everything to...calling me a socialist, asshole, and even one guy in his mind thought that because i had one and he didnt that somehow i had HIS jet and was gonna call Henry and ask for one free and his money back. one email called me a socialist becaue he viewed henry as only giving out ready v3 to his FRIENDS...Well i thought that was just funny!!!! SO for the guys that emailed me the nasty emails, tomm i will post MY v3 with pic as it is finished and flown...will even post vid of it flying if i can get around to it... Wanna say thanks to Henry for the kind words and i must say Henry is an outstanding person to deal with and anyone wanna same something different about him can email me and will tell you otherwise.

sure, i will do a through walk through of everything. sorry for not posting vid yet, work is killing me...but when i get home tonight all i really gotta do is glue the elevator and booms toghter, do some final links to the control horn and install the canopy and wheel pants.. but i will post vid tonight as soon as im done with attaching the booms and elevator, but here are some install pics. Also i know there are screws missing, im not done with the final install

ok guys my v3 is almost done, if all goes well ill post video of the finish product thur night and try to have her in the air this weekend. v3 is much easier to assemble than v2. maybe because ive built one before, who knows, but i will say this. if your getting the yellow version you will love the paint scheme.

sorry guys my video isnt working so ill work on getting it on here this weekend but here are some pic.. now i had the v2 and must say the new v3 is a BIG leap...in the wings there is carbon fiber EVERYWHERE, its in the wheel wells, along the the whole strech of the wing. in the nose there is now carbon fiber as well.but the biggest improvement was the two booms. they must weight 2 or even 3 time more than the older version, and it is beefed up!!!!!! the elevator is the same... so all the servos are internal which i like.

dont feel bad.. my first jet which was a trainer and im not saying which.... on its 5th flight and right over the runway the wings actually "exploded" i guess some kind of air pocket or something. second jet f16... which was my fault...i came in too slow on its first flight....3rd jet fei boa A-10x which is on you tube, i have some kind of flap failure and she spun out of control....it happens. now my next jet which is an f16 with a SPECIAL PAINT JOB... i just picked up from the body shop where it was getting painted.. so i have had three jets go down in a 1 year time. it sucks

the ys were an equal distance from servo to rx but maybe a little closer to the rx if any. the ys are not heavy guage and are normal ys..also just to say again i did a ground check with the turbine on and off right before take off. actually i used take off flaps to ta/2ke off which was the first set of flaps i used when it went into a spin, the second set of flaps is set a 2inch,,,, the take off flaps are set a 1 1/2 inch.... i always apply the second set when im out of my final turn and lined up with the runway. didnt get to the second set though. also the wind that day was very calm except when i took off [go figure] but was only probally 8mph max. but its hard to say because when ur flying ur paying attention to your plane not the wind sock,

thanks todd. i almost gave u a call because i knew u sold these and flew them. actually i did try to call, it was fri and they said you were out. o well i do feel it was the airframe because im not the only one who experienced this......many many a10x owners said the airframe was.......problematic. but who knows.

wanted to say thanks for everyone who responded with your theories. and yes is was a fei bao a10x and for those who guessed it, i must say thats impressive given the quality of the video. i will change the video back to its original today. you tube has that feature to make the video better but i guess it didnt. now i have one more question? for those that do fly jets, i shouldnt use any nimh? ive always flown with a 2000mah. i fly lipo for the ecu but didnt want to put a regulator in my jet. basically one more thing to go wrong is the way i viewed it, but thats why we have the forums so we can learn.......right? also thought that airframe was ugly as hell...but stay tuned becaue today i go to the body shop to pick up my tamsjet f16 that i had custome painted. also waiting on henrys new tornado to arrive. i will post video of the build for the f16... basically its just a shell and will go step by step as to how i but it toghether. she will have a new kingtech k80 with kero start and tams smoke with nav lights.....

OK first off i never called anyone an ass. ass. was short for assignment. and in my first thread i ask for help because other eyes might see something i dont or have more experience than me. i dont insult people. another thing is that people ask and i respond with answers. dont want people to think its servo failure when the servos are fine ive tested them many times. im just trying to figure it out and give as much info as i can so everyone can make an educated guess.for all i know it might have been battery failure????? i dont know. i do know everything works on the bench and it might be a load issue....the battery hasnt been charged since the crash and im still testing the servos from the crash

it had high end jr servos except for the flap servos they were high end futuba servos, now the y harness wasnt jr.... i dont know what it was but i know jr stuff and this sure wasnt that... the rx is new.

hey scott, yeah it was this sat. dont know if they were out there, im kinda bad at names but great at remembering faces... as usual alot of our guys helped me to carry back the wreck.also didnt have any other channel ass, to anything on that side of my tx. if i did hit something it wouldnt have affected it any, i always double check that stuff.

the battery pack was mine, have flown other turbines on that same pack with no issues and i have heard of other a10x do the same thing, there very touchy at certain speeds. cant figure this out. i am thankfull though, my turbine is fine other than it needs a new starter housing and tailcone... it stil spins freely. no damage to any of the servos except for one wire that was torn out. so i consider myself fortunte that no one was hurt and im out a couple of hundred bucks because there was nothing left of the airfram. itll cost me about $300 to fix the turbine. it was a jetcat p70.

guys the battery was full and that was the only flight of the day. she had four flights on her but only one that Sat. i fly on futuab 2.4 10c with a 14 channel receiver and its still bends to my tx

ok guys thanks for your response. the plane was level when i applied flaps. this was its fourth flight altogher. i just bought the plane a week ago and when i hooked everything up i noticed one of flaps just "flaping" it was going up and down all by its self. so i took everything apart and found a wire that was causing it," or thats what i thought it was" i did alot of test and it never happened again. i run a lipo 2cell 2100mh for ecu and a 2000nimh 6 volt for the servos, ive always done this and never had an issue. my radio and battery are fine and every servo works under load. know what does concern me is this thing had 3 y harnesses in it. and ive heard turbine dont act right with them thats why u get matchboxes, you can get away with one y, but 3???????? i never installed crow or any up or down elevator to the flap setting. also did a through ground check before flight....always do with my turbines.

ok so this is its 4th flight and when i was over the runway i threw out my gear then i went into a turn i threw my flaps. when i threw my flaps she crashed.... after looking at the flap servos and connecting them they were fine.... now this is one of two things....one... hinge failure or the guy that built it had too many y harnesses. he had three of them..or what do u think????? please help. they receiver is fine and connection was good. www.youtube.com/watch

i also agree i was a little worried about just doing the cg by weight in all my years of building and flying ive never done it that way either, but after talking with henry this meathod was easier so why not try something different. my tornado came in a 16.4 pds but when i was in the air my plane wanted to keep doing a nose dive and i hade no more trim left i will see if the balnce is off by using a balancing scale and see where she comes up.
