RE: Individual Servo Gears....??
Brendan, Thanks for the reply... Is the first gear the one with the ball bearings on it... If it is ... that's not the one that breaks all the time....!!! The one that breaks all the time is the one that connects the ball bearing gear with the rest of the gears... !! This is especially true with 635 and 645 servos...!! Do you have a picture of these servos with the gear train exposed and labeled...?? That way I'll know for sure what gear I need... Please let me know. Thanks Larry les2097@hotmail.com

Fox 2.4 Gas Engine... Will NOT idle...??
Hi, I have a Fox 2.4 gas engine in a H9 Extra 260 ... great combination... The engine has always run well ... but recently I can't get it to idle down... when I try to idle it down ... it kills... After flying for 10 minutes... then landing at a fast idle... the engine will kill on the runway...?? I've checked and rebuilt the carb... (Walbro) ... put in a new tank, 3 lines, and all new tubing... new sparkplug... I've fiddled with the needles till I see red... nothing seems to correct the problem... Could it be ignition...?? Really need some help here... Thanks Larry les2097@hotmail.com

RE: JR Power Expander....
Thanks Robert... I got the manual... On the JR Power Expander there is one extra lead... (I'm using a Futaba 149DP) ... can I plug this into the DSC receiver position to keep it from dangling in the wind...??? On your answer to me about the 2 channel outputs are not buffered and the 4 channel outputs are buffered indication a 2 servo load and only 1 servo load as perceived by the receiver, respectively... Is there a big problem with this...? Is it better to use the 4 channel outputs rather than the two channel outputs...?? because of what the receiver sees a servo loads....??? Robert, what's the 3 wire lead coming out of the expander where the two battery leads are attached...?? Thanks again Robert. Larry

RE: Copperhead Venom 45
ORIGINAL: johndou The R/C hobby industry is relatively small compared to many other hobby industries. Because it's so small the customer has much more power and influence on the smaller companies out there. Hence we can demand more from the people we buy from. For those companies that don't supply good customer support, or "rip" people off, the news of their actions travels fast and ferious through these web pages. And, the results are usually pretty devastating. Copperhead Aviation seems to have shot themselves in the foot - this is not the only issue that's plagueing them right now. Hopefully they can reinvent themselves and imerge better then they were. Because if they go away entirely, we as consumers could be hurt in the long run. Yes, we can call a Spade a Spade. But, we also need to be understanding, and somewhat forgiving. I won't be buying anything from Copperhead Aviation anytime soon. I'm not much of a gambler. And, right now I see their products as a gamble to buy because of the lack of customer support they seem to be profiding. And, because of the apparent dishonesty of it's owner. But, I certainly hope that they can recover from these problems. When the small ones leave the only one's left are the big ones and then the consumer is at a disadvantage. On the other hand - if they don't correct their problems, having companies like this in our hobby can be disasterous.
Thanks Johndou... you said it much more eloquently than I did or could have... The facts are what is important... Truth is what is important as supported by the facts... Fact: I have recently called Ohio Model Products and asked to speak with either Tim or Ken Faulk... the voice on the phone immediately said call this number... and I proceeded to call the number... No one answered and my call went to voice mail... I left a message for either Ken or Tim Faulk... It's been a month and no reply.... Truth: Tim Faulk is a cheat; a criminal; and a sleazy person... he lies and lies... there is NOTHING worse than a man who lies... You say we must be "understanding and somewhat forgiving" ... Should that start with Tim Faulk and his theft of my $300+ dollars when I purchased the engine...??? Larry

Guver, I have 10 wall-warts... and I measured the voltage output from all 10 and each was 4.8 or very close... not 10+ as you said.... what's going on...?? I have a Hobbico Multicharger... the one that has 4 outputs ... each with a selectable charge rate.... I measured the voltage on each of the outputs and it was 16.5 volts... irrespective of the charge rate selected.... I'm confused again... Larry

RE: Confused on 6 volt 2700mah packs and Wall Warts....
Geistware, Thanks for the information... I sure would like to know more on how a 5 cell NiMh charges with a wall wart of 4.8 volts and 50 mah ... I know they do... and it's a matter of time... but how does the voltage get to 7+ volts at full charge....?? I understand now that the charging voltage must increase to "jam" more milliamps into the pack ... how does this happen...?? Larry

RE: Confused on 6 volt 2700mah packs and Wall Warts....
How does the voltage of the pack get over 7 volts with only 4.8 wall wart output .... ?? 2700 mah divided by 50 mah == 54 hours or 2 days 6 hours to full charge.... from a dead pack ... Is this correct....???

Confused on 6 volt 2700mah packs and Wall Warts....
I fly only 6 volt NiMh, 2700 mah packs in my planes... I've been charging them with wall warts that have 4.8 volts as output and 50 mah output... These wall warts came with older Futaba radio systems... My friend tells me that I can't charge a 6 volt pack on a 4.8 out... but my 6 volt packs charge to over 7 volts regularly... ??? I usually plug a pack in at night and fly the next afternoon... usually a 14 to 16 charge.... Should I continue to do what I'm doing ... or change to some other method of charging ... ?? Another question is, "What is the design voltage for Futaba receivers ... like a R-138DP... or a R-149DP ... or even a R-127DF... ?? Thanks Larry
