RE: OFFICIAL Redcat Racing TRUCK thread
One thing you all should remember this board is for everyone, not just the supporters and lovers of redcat....if I'm not happy then yea i should be able to say that...i'm not saying anything about anyone...i don't like the truck..big deal... i have that right. that's what a board is for. if you can't handle that then too damn bad...i DON'T have to feel the same as you, i haven't had the same experience as you, and you haven't gone through with your truck what I have with mine, until you do then don't say anything...... so again....i'm only saying i don't like this truck i have that right. If any of you were in my place trying what i've tried and doing what i've done... you'd be frustrated too....... you all want to defend and make excuses that's not my point....i've been easy on it...i've gotten professional help with it, i've drove it carefully and yet still it's broken..... stop telling me i'm not allowed to state my opinion...for all those lovin' the trucks i don't try and tell you not to love it....get off it.

RE: OFFICIAL Redcat Racing TRUCK thread
that's just it, there's nothing that can be done. I've done what I thought I was supposed to do, gotten help, gone easy.... been careful...there's nothing that can be done....i just want to express how i feel you you all act like i'm not allowed to express how i feel..... Sure I'd love for my truck to be replaced with a buggy, but that's not gonna happen...i'm not an idiot, but it seems like if you don't have the best of things to say about the truck, then you just better shut up on this board..... seems a little bias to me.

RE: OFFICIAL Redcat Racing TRUCK thread
ScottHarp thanks for your 2 cents...but first off, yes I bought this offline..and the dealer I bought this from didn't want anything to do with the problems...so then I turned to darin and yea at first he was VERY supportive I even posted on here a couple of thank you's to darin and his team for helping and being there but it's been months since he's been here to help those that are driving his trucks and as far as local sellers, here where I live...they have never even heard of redcat..and when I showed them my truck...they were like "what is that?" So of course I'd love to as you say "have a person to go and gripe to" but here in washington state...they don't even know what a REDCAT is......so my person to go and gripe to is THIS BOARD...hello...i'm not bashing on anyone...you say i like to have a place to go and gripe to so WHERE DO YOU PROPOSE I DO THAT?? other then this board where maybe other's are having the same issues or similar that might understand where I'm coming from, last time i checked this was free country i can say what i want about redcat, i'm not degrading or bashing anyone in particular... so what is the big deal??? isn't that what this board is for, or is it only if you have GOOD things to say about the trucks..??

RE: OFFICIAL Redcat Racing TRUCK thread
well ehroof...................that's cool......i'm glad you're truck has RAN soooo great..... did you read the part that I've had the truck for almost FOUR months...LOL... yea some parts have broke more then once, obviously they are WEAK... and yes I have talked FIRST hand with the company...do you not know who Darin is that I keep referring to ??? he's the man that is representing redcat.... that's why I keep asking him to post... we've been in contact with eachother..and now he won't post.... you guys act like I've had my truck for a week and i'm whining and bitching about it....i've had this for almost 4 months...and done nothing but just try to play with it, I've been in contact with darin and taken it to my lhs..almost been laughed out of there because they've never seen something like this and they don't carry parts for it....... I have been laughed at by my friends who have better trucks...and you all talk like I haven't done all the things you suggest...i've been on this board alone since january...done all the suggestions by others... taken my truck to experienced friends and the lhs..... basically all i've been told is it sounds good, starts good but is extremely weak...........but yes...... I bought the truck and the starter pack which (with shipping and handling was 260 bucks) and since then I have broken the truck 3 times.. (the three times I've taken it out) if you are NOT new to the boards you probably know that i've posted many times and have posted every time it's broke and have even tried to sell the truck.... and yes after shipping it's cost roughly 50 to 60 dollars each of the 3 times it's broken for me to fix it...so add it up....it IS OVER 400 bucks.... so thanks.

it's not that i propose that they do anything...but when I see darin on the forum...and not say anything...to either support or oppose the truck he sells, it makes me wonder how much confidence he himself has in it......he's the one selling these trucks and he comes on the forum and has nothing to say.....? that shows how much he believes in them.

and as far as next time i fix it i should run it easier...... then I guess that would mean I should go to fedex, wrap it in bubble wrap, rent out the stadium, wrap it in bubble wrap...and THEN my truck MIGHT come out with no breakage..?? at 1/2 throttle... maybe??[sm=punching.gif]

RE: OFFICIAL Redcat Racing TRUCK thread
this is the frustrating part...i wish i could take all of you here and let you see where i've been driving my truck...TAKE IT EASY...???? how much easier can i take it....... do you think i WANT to keep breaking it....that's is all i have been doing the last 2 times after i fixed it was driving it easy....i am not one that has the money to bash on this truck i have a lot of other things to save for...and i don't bash on this truck or drive it excessive or overly hard... yesterday after fixing it yet again...my whole focus was to just take it out in an open field with no obstructions or curbs and/or land differences...just able to drive it flat round and round with a little dirt flyin....the frustrating part is trying to get you guys to understand...i couldn't possibly drive this any easier unless you want me to go 2 mph...???? I didn't buy a truck to bash on...just have fun...I'm not in it to race...or jump or be a speed demon...I have a 5 yr old son...my main focus was to have something for him and i to do together...you should have seen his eyes when i first got this truck talk about innocent excitement...but now he comes over he's just like "dad, fix your truck..." "dad, is your truck fixed yet" or "Lynn, fix my dad's truck"...................................and We still haven't spent more then 30 minutes out in one time...even in a field with this.............................i must just have gotten the manufacturing reject of all trucks....it must have been on the very bottom, of bottom of bottom of bottom, in the right hand corner with cob webs...dusted off and given to me..........cuz all it's been is a money pit..if any one has seen the movie money pit...that's what my truck has been...take a truck that should work in all convensional purposes....but doesn't...........again i don't know how to tell you guys other then to say...not once have I done anything outrageous or crazy....that never was my purpose in buying this truck.....ha ha ha jokes on me. [:D][:D][:D][:D][:D][:D] 400 dollar joke.

RE: OFFICIAL Redcat Racing TRUCK thread
I've done all that....one thing I've had this truck for almost 4 months...it's not like that hasnt' been done... i have taken it to my lhs and that's what they did, helped me tune...i'm not saying it doesn't sound great, start great, or in general run great...it does.......i haven't said anything about the running of my truck...but i'm not an idiot...i wouldn't just pull it out of the box and think it's perfect...the first thing i did was take it to the lhs and have them help me with it..............I can hit the breaks full throttle doesn't die...i can drive it right to my feet doesn't die and stops on a dime.... hit the gas takes off like a raped ape.....doesn't die at full throttle.... hit the break again, drive it back to me and it'll idle at my feet...i've gotten it tuned to the point that I love..w/ help....thank you xeller8 .... but it's weak...stops on a dime..and breaks on a penny.[sm=lol.gif]

no the diff. are not messed up....i have checked everything, neighbor (the one with the traxxas) has checked it, the LHS has checked it... you all are still trying to make excuses for these trucks the truck itelf is the problem go to the buggies they don't have the same problems that the truck has...maybe that's the difference...... 200 truck vs. the 300 buggy which one's gonna break??????

RE: OFFICIAL Redcat Racing TRUCK thread
Actually he's never had a problem with it starting... he's even commented that it's starts great.... I don't know.... but by doughnuts he wanted me to clarify that it's not little full throttle circles that he's doing it's roughly 50 ft. circles... oval circles not at full speed...just going round at a moderate speed, that was just when he was trying to warm it up, he'd go straight till he ran out of room and turn the other way. he was just calling them doughnuts, but not like he was going full speed and turned on a dime..not at all like that.

Well sorry we live in WA state...it doesn't get in the 80's to 90's till may or june, sometimes even july...is he supposed to put the truck in the box till then?? As far as the doughnuts...i am surprised they break so easily..... that's crazy....his son's r/c (while not gas powered) from wal-mart does those all the time and still runs...i just feel bad cause I wanted him to have fun...maybe our expectations were too high.

RE: OFFICIAL Redcat Racing TRUCK thread
Hey jcam... the time in february was the 2nd time it broke and yea i was cold, which probably had something to do with it....cold is obviously going to make the plastic brittle...but the time that he's really frustrated about was yesterday, and now it's in the mid 50's which is pretty mild. Well it wasn't like the truck just fell apart..lol.... the thing that really blew me away...was he was driving in circles round and round and about the middle of one corner it flipped and i saw (well he told me later it was the axle) the axle fly off as it flipped...that was just going round and round doing what he called doughnuts in the dirt... really all this is moot cause the truck is broke...and no it didn't just spontaneously fall apart...he drove it for roughly 30 minutes yesterday (which was the longest so far lol) and broke 5 parts.... I am really glad you are all having fun with yours...i'm glad that someone is...i just wish he was..lol [;)]

RE: OFFICIAL Redcat Racing TRUCK thread
when i figure out how to post the pictures i'll show you but your gonna tell me that it can't flip over without breaking somethin come on guys give me a break when you pay that kind of money and know that it's a nitro truck you think it can flip over with out breaking something and oh ya it;s not just the parts yoiu also have to pay the shiopping everytime you break something so if you buy a $5 part it's a 10 to 11 dollar to get it unless your a dealer like most of all these people on here are so stop giving me a hard time about being pissed off, just funny that if you look in the begging of all these posts there's all kinds off screennames on the forum and now they're all the same names, all dealers or traders of some kind of r/c driver that's 40 or 50 that has nothing better to do or spend money on. Thanks again redcat racing for such a great piece of shit so inexspensive a $20 carpenter can't even fix all the time these breakso ya this is my last post maybe besides the pictures of the piece of shit peace out and good luck with your so called hobby or what everyone else is now calling a whole crap load of money for nothing unless like i said earlier if your a dealer or someone who wants to dump a crap load of money in something that doesn't have a 2 speed trans or revs or has a body that can be flipped on or the list just keeps on going sorry for pissing everyone off time to go to the lhs to look at something beside a redcat piece of shit thanks again everyone who's helped me or tried to get these truck help

RE: OFFICIAL Redcat Racing TRUCK thread
First off I want to say that I don't exactly consider myself to be a newbie, I've had all kinds of r/c cars before, I love having these kinds of toys, they are fun, something I did with my dad, and am trying to do with my own son now. I am not on here trying to bitch and complain about this truck just to be a baby about my broken truck, but something I have to consider is that I bought this truck just after Christmas and have ran it for about a total of 1 hour since I've had it, and correct me if I'm wrong but we are almost going into APRIL?? I was so excited about getting this truck that my fiance often had to tell me to shut up because it's all I talked about. What I was expecting and what I've gotten have been two totally different things. I have this truck now that I've put well close to if not well over 400 dollars and out of the almost 4 months of having it it's pretty much been sitting in a box because I have to wait for parts or money to buy parts. I know that I have posted some messages that were offensive to some but my major issue is that I have bought a truck for my son at wal-mart that lasted longer then this has. I can say with whole honesty that I haven't even been able to get to the point of jumping my truck or doing any "cool" tricks with it. After finally fixing it this last time I promised to only drive it in an open field a few times just to be able to drive it for a length of time over 10 minutes, and even that didn't work, everyone on here thinks i must have been jumping it or doing something crazy or fast with it, and that's the thing......i WASN'T. You all don't even know how excited I was about this truck....and i understand things break..... maybe I got a bunk truck or something...but what I can say is that EVERY TIME i've taken it to drive, I've done more and more damage to it......is it normal to really break 50 bucks worth of parts every time??? If so you all must be millionaires to be in the hobby....I just wanted to have a truck to have fun with and not spend a ton of money on...and it back fired....i have friends with tmaxxa's that have had them for years, and they have laughed at me at how many times my truck has broke.....over NOTHING.... yes they admit they have to replace parts, but not to the extent that I have, or if they have it's because they were actually bashing the crap out of it...........i'm just frustrated to be so excited about something and only to put this much money into it........and watch my friends with their tmaxxa's while I have to just watch cause mine's broke yet again...and yes I'm sure my posts will be removed because RedCat won't want to admit that they are selling a piece of crap..........but thanks for the 1 hour of fun I've had with it and over 400 put into that I've worked my ass off for....I will post the pics everyone wants.
