RE: Air retracts
The Robart variable rate control valve does not seem to work. If I tighten the screws all the way in, air still blows by.Is this right or should it stop the air al toghter? Thanks, Guy

RE: PVA question
I agree, I have no problems spraying it from my airbrush, just have to use about 40-50 ibs. of air to have a nice smooth finish.

Mold release problems.....
Hi, I have made many molds for my planes.I just finished one and just can'e get it to release!I finially had to break the mold to get the piece out. I use TR Industries mold release to wax the mold, about eight coats. Then I sprayed with my airbrush, three coats of mold release called PVA 360, a green colored agent. I waited till it was dry, about two-three hours before I put the first coat of expoxy , about a hour later I glassed the mold with two layers of 6 oz. glass. What is the problem here????? Am I useing the wrong release agent? Thanks for any help. The mold has a nice shiny interior, five coats of white laqure, buffed out smooth.

RE: Fuel tank location problem
What you want to use is a three line tank.Take your tank out,add a second line and clunk. So now you have two clunks, and a vent. One clunk goes to the carb., the second goes to your muffler pressure fitting. And the vent goes to a fuel dot. on the clunked line to the muffler you will need a one way valve, gong to the tank. Now you have a pressured tank. You can put the tank anywhere in the plane you want. To fill, you uncap the vent, and the line to the carb. will need also need a tee in this line to fill, also having a fuel dot.I have this setup in my cub with the same motor. runs great! I use this system in all my planes.Motors run like they have a pump on them. After flying, always release the pressure in the tank by opening the Vent line! Good luck, you will love this setup. ,Guy

RE: Tank setup issue...What are my options??
Use a three line tank. Two clunks in the tank, plus your vent. One clunked line to your carb. and the other one to your muffler tap. The vent line you will up plug when filling. You also need a one way valve into your pressure line from your muffler.Make sure to put it in right. You can blow into to it to make sure it goes towards the tank.I use fuel dots, they make fueling very easy. Just un-plug your vent and fuel through your fuel to carb line. I put a tee into this line also.which goes to a fuel dot. This method also give you pressure in your tank too. After flying let the pressure out of the tank through the vent line. Useing this method, you can put the tank any where you want to. It's like running a pump. I use this on all my planes.

RE: Mixing larger amounts of resin
The reason it does that ,is because you are mixing a big batch of expoy into small container. If you mix it in a shallower container it won't have so much heat, and will cure slower.

RE: Magnum .91 4-stroke starting problems
Most motors start backwards because they are flooded. Prime the motor by putting your finger over the muffler and flipping it one or two should do it, and make sure the throttle is open fully, no startter battery on the plug yet. Move your throttle down to idle now. Then put the battery on, and pull the prop over counterclockwise till you feel it bump .make sure you have a good grip on the prop too. Now, just flip it counterclockwise, some like to go clockwise, but I don't. This is how I fire mine up. Good luck.

RE: YS 91,no pressure in lines?
OK, Just tried it again....won't start unless I put a little fuel in carb. when it fires up, it idiles at about 5000 rpm for ten seconds, then dies.tried new lines, just can't figure where the loss is from.motor has good compreeion, new crank, gasket set, ajusted valves to a tight 3 th. . I use PM 15% 20/20 ys/satio fuel.and a new plug. Guy

RE: YS 91,no pressure in lines?
I just tried it again.I used my starting motor to turn it over, it took three min. to get it started? It's not getting the fuel somewhere. Would turning the screw on the bottom a little get the fuel to flow better?

check valve is ok as is the pluming, can't find any leaks. It was running ok in my cub, but it took a long time with the help of my starting motor to turn it over to primp it. Maybe 2 mins. of turning it over it would finally start.?????

YS 91,no pressure in lines?
Hi, I have a 91 YS AC, I have it in a test stand to try to get it to run better. When I flip it over, with throttle open ten times, then 10 times with throttle closed. I get no fuel in the lines and there is no pressure in the tank. That's the way I was told to prime my engine. Why am I not getting fuel? Thanks, Guy

RE: critical measurements
correct on the motor install. The sticks are fine, but you should wrap the stick and wire with thread then epoxy it.The only thing with the sticks is with weather changes the sticks will change too, not enough to worry about, but they do change. If you have acess to put the rods in, go for it, they will not change with the weather.

RE: FL 70 4stroke
I too bought this motor when it first came out. I run inverted, 15% nitro, but I always run with a three line tank. Two clunks, one to carb, one to muffler and the other is closed off after fueling.Using this set-up you can put your tank any where you want and will run great!

RE: help glassing 1/3 scale floats
Hi, Do the glass just like you would do with the film corvering. Wrap the corners, cutting the corners 45degree's. Ounce the glass is down and squeezed with a plastic card. I use the cards you get at Wally world. They are good for this and they are Free. After it cures overnight, sand with 120 grit paper, I fill in low spots with spot puddy then after that cures sand and then mix some epoxy and cover your floats with epoxy, let cure overnight, then sand with 180 or 220, then go to 320 then your good to prime, sand some more, lol, then paint or cover. I'm doing a TF P 47 right now and am doing just what I told you. sand, sand, and sand some more.LOL Hope this helps, Guy

RE: Building supplies recommendations?
Do your self a favor and buy the Great Planes building board. They come in three sizes, the biggest being 16x48x 3/4. The bigger one is thirty bucks and well worth it! I have had mine for about fifteen years and is still dead flat.Made from peices of balsa wood gluded togeather and sanded flat.I have my P 47 on it right now. Holds pins very good.

RE: retractable tailwheel
The manual just goes over how to put the wire wheel in, hooked up to the rudder by a ball link. It dosen't go over putting a retract in.This is the 60 size.I was thinking about pull-pull for the rudder and running lines to the retract from the rudder.Would this work? Thanks for the quick reply., Guy
