RE: Top Flite '.60 size' P-51D Mustang ARF: Building & Modifications
CorsairJock, The canopy is fully operational, and slides on rails and locks in place for flight. The scale cockpit is all hand made, no commercial parts were used. Original photos taken in a real P-51 were reduced to size and used in this plane. Back in the early "70's" I built a Scale P-51 (E2-S) and won the Eastern States Scale Competition. I still have that P-51, but I'm not going to fly it for fear that a glue joint would let go. That's the main reason for building this one. It's not totally finished, panel lines and rivets are in progress as well as inner gear doors. Oh, and there's a real flight map in the map case :) I'll try and find a photo of my original scale mustang. Ernie Found it. Here's my Original Mustang from 1972

Here's Mine, Flys like a champ with a Saito 100 and a 14/8 prop. Using original balance point and only 2 clicks down trim. RE: E-Flite Mini Pulse XT Owner's Club
Doc, I'm flying a Slimer pulseXT with an EVO 52 and it's a rocket, this engine has lots of power, perfect verticle climbs. Spend the money on the EVO you woun't be disappointed. Ernie

RE: Great Planes 41" YAK 54 Elevator Issues
Ok! got to fly today. no wind what so ever. Yak54 flew very well, however I found it a little slow using the factory recommended rimfire 35-30-950 KV motor and 11.4.7 prop. With 2100/20C lipo. what are you guys using?? Higher KV Motors/Props??? I want to increase the flight speed IE: bigger prop/smaller pitch or smaller prop/higher pitch?? Don't get me wrong it flew nice but a little to slow for a 3D airplane. Ernie

RE: Great Planes 41" YAK 54 Elevator Issues
Decided to go to the field today even though the wind was nutso. Flew the Mini PulseXT for about 5 minutes, but quickly landed. the wind was insane. Decided to do a taxi run with the new Yak 54 mini. just to see how she would handle a grass takeoff. My intension was not to take off but just ground handling, well, it handles pretty good, in fact it took off in about 6' surprised the HELL out of me. I took it for a loop and decided to do a couple of turns around the field. Wow this thing really flies good. can't wait for a good day, maybe tomorrow. Landed because of the heavy winds. hope to give it a good ringing out soon. But I'm impressed. Ernie

RE: E-Flite Mini Pulse XT Owner's Club
Guys, just a heads up on bleeding off the speed on the MP. I use negative flap-a-rons to bleed speed. In other words, by setting up the ailerons to go up in spoiler fashion you will bleed speed nicely. I use the same setup on my Gas version of the Pulse XT. You only need a small amount of negative deflection and it works like a charm. Think Air-brake. It softly kills the lift of the wing. Once you turn on final you can pretty much put it anywhere on the landing strip:) Ernie

RE: Hanger 9 Pulse XT
Don't know about the .46 but I saw one fly with a evolution .52 and it was a rocket. Should fly well with the .46 Ernie

RE: Hanger 9 Pulse XT
Installing the saito was not a big problem, the problem is the throttle linkage which is reverse of a standard say OS FX/AX. so I had to use a servo arm mounted to the motor mount in a bellcrank setup to move the throttle linkage smoothly. Worked out really well. I will try and post a few photos in the next couple of days. Ernie

RE: Hanger 9 Pulse XT
I've been flying my Pulse for about 3 months now, and really like it. Mine is fitted with a Saito 56 and is a screamer. However, the landing gear area needs to be reinforced. When will the ARF manufacturers get it that just doing lock box construction just doesn't hold up for the landing gear area. It' seems to work well the the motor mount area and fusalage, but not the gear. Other then that this plane is a hoot to fly. PS have they also heard of EPOXY Ernie

RE: hobbico 60 size su-31 sukhoi
Just completed 2 maiden flights with mine yesterday. Flys like a rocket. 1 click left aileron for trim. Power is a Saito 100 4 cycle, and this thing really zips. Had to add 6 oz for balance, Saitos are lighter then most. Flys great at factory balance point. Some have said covering is poor, however, mine was fine. Only had to re-heat one aileron and one elevator. Watch her on landing, she'll tip stall. I might set up a little flap-a-ron. I really like the way it flys, lots of bang for very little buck. Ernie
