custom HDPE (plastic) fuel tanks
Custom HDPE Fuel Tanks Made from 1/8 or 1/16" high density polyethylene and comes with a Sullivan gas fitting. These are made to order to your specifications. All you have to do is provide basic measurements (Length x Width x Height). For those who don't perfer the sullivan fuel fittings I can install HDPE barbed fittings. One in a lower corner for a fuel pick-up and one in a top corner for a vent. I have two sizes of barbed fittings, one for small-medium nitro line and one for large gas line. No payment is due until the tank has been built, leak tested and ready to ship. I will email you pictures and my paypal address at that time. Prices are based on size and complexity. Most small- med nitro tanks will run $25-$35 and larger gas $40-$50. I've sold a few on JRCBD with great results. I was told by a few guys that there might be some interest on this site. You can PM me or email sketches/ measurements to mlipgens@cox.net Thanks for looking Ryan Lipgens

RE: Box Radio
In my opinion with the hardware that's available to us now like the Prostyle pushrod seals from Zippkits it's not really an issue. The only holes that need to be sealed is maybe the servo mounts and a little silicone sealant on the bolts will fill the void. I do appreciate all your input and respect your valid concerns. I agree clear scotch tape does work well http://zippkits.com/~zippkits/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=67&products_id=348

RE: Box Radio
You can stick adhesive backed velco on it to hold a reciever or battery pack and it will work just fine. You just can't use adhesives to build with it and expect it to be structurally sound.

RE: Box Radio
I understand what your saying. I use 3M electrical tape on all my wood radio boxes, I tried it with this box and it work great. Obviously it's not a permanent bond, but it works well keeping a radio box sealed and removes without leaving a residue.

RE: Box Radio
Everything I make with HDPE is seam welded with a plastic welder. You can't use adhesives on HDPE nothing bonds to it. When welded with heat it's very strong.

RE: Box Radio
Thanks guys for the recommendation. I usually build custom fuel tanks, but recently I had a customer request a radio box out of black HDPE. So I ordered some black material and gave it a shot. RE: custom HDPE (plastic) fuel tanks
Thanks guys, These are seam welded. HDPE is so chemical resistant nothing will really bond to it. For aircraft I would recommend 1/16" and a sullivan fitting with a clunk style pick-up. The 1/8" would be a little heavy for small planes, but the 1/16" is pretty light. Thanks Ryan

custom HDPE (plastic) fuel tanks
I don't know if this is the right place for this, but I wanted to share this info with you. For a couple months now I have been making custom fuel tanks out of HDPE, mostly for gas rc boats on Jims RC boatdock and International waters. One of my customers said there might be interest in the gas airplane world for custom fuel tanks or smoke tanks. Made from 1/8 or 1/16" high density polyethylene and comes with a Sullivan gas fitting. These are made to order to your specifications. All you have to do is provide basic measurements (Length x Width x Height). For those who don't perfer the sullivan fuel fittings I can install HDPE barbed fittings. RE: I messed up my Rossi carb settings.
This is how I set my LSN on all my nitro engines. Adjust the LSN until you can get the engine to idle, then pinch the fuel line feeding the carb. It should run 3-5 seconds, if not lean it or add fuel until it does. I like mine closer to 4 seconds. Once I have the LSN set I rarely touch it again. Not everyone likes this way, but it seems to work for me. Good luck.

RE: 4 stroke boat and nos
ORIGINAL: Ron Olson Oops, I blew that one as I could have sworn that the GNX had twin turbo's! I've ridden in 2 GN's, one that my brother-in-law had and one that a buddy from worked owned. Damned fast cars for a little 3.8 V-6. Mike, that boat was the Four Play that was on the inside back page of that issue of RCMB, THAT I remembered. He had the motor turned around and hooked to a gearbox. I wouldn't try NO2 in a boat. I had a bud that tried that with a 7.5 OB tunnel. The engine is scattered in various parts of a lake........ NOS is a brand name but ever since that stupid The Fast and the Furious movie came out some people refer to any nitrous oxide system as NOS.
no problem, i thought there was a bad a$$ GN i never heard of. Back to the thread, I couldn't imagine running NO2 in a little nitro engine. I've run it in a 2.0L for the last 7 years w/o any problems but thats alot larger scale.

RE: Anyone run in Wichita Falls TX?
Thanks for the info. I'm going down there for some training for a month and was thinking about taking some toys if there was a place close to run. I saw a good size lake on google earth, but I don't know if it's accessible or open to the public.

RE: .12 Rigger Kits for CHEAP!
You're right, that was disrespectful, my apologies. I shouldn't classify the group. There's alot of good guys with alot of knowledge out there. I think I talked to you a couple weeks ago, I was fishing with my son. You came over to make sure nobody got hurt by the ramp. Before the black mono gasser went crazy. I haven't ran a boat on a sunday in about four years. There's one or two individuals (I don't know them personally, just by face) that they're driving skills scare me to have my boat on the water at the same time as them. Had a couple close calls. I don't race, just "fun run" and found it more enjoyable during the week. I appreciate the invite and again my apologies. Ryan

RE: .12 Rigger Kits for CHEAP!
Great vids AMAX! I go to that pond alot and have seen these boats run and they're awesome. Not to thread jack but, it's almost no fun going there on sundays anymore. There seems to be more and more knuckle heads in that group. Last weekend a guy ran a UL-1 into a sailboat and the sailboat sank. I understand accidents, but some of these guys could care less and laughed when it happened. Not cool. I get some people don't like sailboats, but it's never funny when someone's boat sinks. End rant. Again great vids!
