RE: anyone flown the Laser Arrow?
OK its about time i updated some info on here as to the new arrows i now own. The yellow one has the old irvine 46 with penny whistle pipe and is fine. The purple one with JETT 50 ..is an animal and cant handle the power of the engine as it brickwalls when it hits flat out. And bare in mind i was using a normal graupner 10x7 ..cos thas what "Dub" said it was set up for. Plus i just wanted to get it up n let it run in as it was flying. The damb thing was stupid kept the turns like it was going straight. Hardly any noticable bleed off of speed . Sadly if its gonna do the dive every time it gets up to speed then im looking elsewhere to put the Jett 50 in. They wont go in a magnum so i m stumped again. Im now glad i only did a quick set up of the wing on top for exhaust mount as its still not covered in that area ....piccys show ...but nice all the same ....It also has an airbrake ....ok lets hit the switch by mistake going flat out [:D]

RE: Link
For those that have not heard of the "Brickwalling effect" ...it means that the wing section is not equal both sides and so as you get up to very fast speeds the air hits the top of the wing so hard as the flow now is not the same both sides and the plane will violently go straight down or up as if its hit a brick wall. Its fine if it goes up but ya have a heart attack if it goes down .....in which this case it did ...theres no time at all to shut down so do it high or find a different wing section [:D] pylon racers have this problem from time to time at around 170 mph.

RE: Link
im now really considering a 90 for the enforcer but this brickwalling affect does worry me. In the UK Mr Paul grey has a record of 226mph on a saab gripen ducted fan and that was with the famous os 91...i wonder what the jett would have produced WOH!

RE: Link
i ordered direct from the site ...but bare in mind it was £63 extra when the postman came....jeesus i try not to think about it. Ya cant just walk into a shop n buy one, ya have to tell "Dub" what its gonne be used for and the spec. In my case i had to say i wanted side mounted tuned pipe as otherwise it restricts you to what type of plane itll go in. Go for it itll make the hairs on ya neck stand up when you hear it wind up.[;)]
