RE: EXI-450 discussions/mods/scale projects
ORIGINAL: crashcrash Helicopter update, Futaba 7c 72Mhz converted to ASSAN 2.4Ghz: I put the EXI-450 back as stock with the new servo and head lock gyro 300 400 500 size helicopter gyro. I flew 3 batteries and didn't have ONE glitch the whole time. In addition to that....I could fly it in ANY upright orientation I wanted. It handled like an MCX...it was that stable. I could hover it nose in for extended periods, I flew a 360 deg pattern in FRONT of me (instead of orbiting my body).....never did that before unless I was crashing...LMAO. It's NOT 100% right yet, there's things I need to play with...it needs more SNAP on the rudder, and I need to bring the sensitivity up some. Other than a couple adjustments, it's stable, predictable, and EASY to fly. I also need to increase the head response a tad....but all in all, I think the ASSAN 2.4Ghz is doing it's JOB very well. If we get a decient day tomorrow....I'll take it out to the field and do the big area thing on it. Funny thing is....I point the heli in any direction and let go of the sticks....it stays put...how cool is that? The DS281MG servo on the tail works pretty good but I do need a better gyro than what's on there. I may be ordering another GY401B gyro...it lasted quite a while and it's super good at holding the tail. ....I'm ONE happy camper right now.
Don't ya just love it when a plan comes together and works? Congrats Vic,I think you'll like the futaba. -george
ORIGINAL: crashcrash
ORIGINAL: lohchief Yeah....I would love to see the size difference too.Is it supposed to be the equivilent of a 600?
I'm thinking gasser by fall (?), but it'll have to be 120deg CCPM, a .30 is a good starting place and it appears that .30 parts and accessories are better priced as well as more options (scale fuselages) in a .30. I'm lurking. It's been so long since the last time I was here.I agree about buying an esc that can use a matching program card.Well worth it.No tones or noises to listen to hopeing you got it right.Plug it in,do your thing and your done....and it's right.

Vic I've had really good luck with the emax esc's.I've got two 35a and they do run cool.I'm also running ebecs (1.5a/5v).The ebec's aren't heavy enough to handle 4 digitals though. If you have to replace a esc ya might want to consider the emax. -lohchief
