RE: Minnflyer (AKA Mike Buzzeo) has unexpectedly passed away
My prayers go out to the family of Mikes. As the rest of RCU, I also got great help from Mike's reviews and articals. I also had the pleasure to watch Mike do the flight review on one of his review planes in Alexandria last summer, and then read about it here on RCU. He will be greatly missed and will be remembered always.

RE: going snow skiing
Here is a pic of my twist on skis, a hoot to fly on a nice 30 degree day. I use the dubro skis, they work great with the spring that holds the ski tips up when in flight.

RE: Which Factory - the Sig Rascal 110?
A freind at the local club is looking for a wing strut for his 110 rascal. He says when talking to SIg, that they will not have them to the end of the summer. Would anyone know where he could get one or similar material to build one. In the meantime we will keep looking but any ideas would help. thanks

I would also like to thanks the guys of the screaming eagles and few others in that DL group. It was great day to talk about what people have gotten ready over the winter to fly when it warms up. Also a great big thanks to those in that donated the prizes like Race Way Hobbies in the mall. As the pick shows I am already working on it to get flight ready. Hye JeffEE, did'nt get to meet you this year. Maybe at the flight sites this summer.

RE: Twin Cities Auction (Minnesota)
Hi all, I also had good time at auction and will go back next year. One of my friends picked up a fixer upper and looking for some info. It was seller (item 343H) and on the tag it says 120 4 dash planes. Needs 1.20 engine lost canapy then some stuff on how well it flys on floats. If anyone knows any info and where the kit may come from, we will continue to look online. Thanks By the way I picked up a great goldberg ultimate Bipe with a O.S. 91 it ran great today on the start stand. Thanks again to TCRC for a great day.

RE: aero works 300 60-90
This AW plane is my first 3D capable plane and could not tell you on pull out power. It does pull vertical but I have not tryed from a hover. Still learning. The only reason I have the plane is at a fun fly last fall a guy wanted to dump it, so for $225 I got the motor ,plane and had to reglue the landing gear. Could not resist. I am now looking at a MX2 combo from Redwing RC. For the Price of that combo it looks better then Glow.

I got the AW 300 at the end of the summer last year and love it. I have a .75AX O.S. in it with a 14x4 prop. Thinking like you and want to put the DLE 20 in it for the upcoming summer.

Looking forward to the action. I will be maken the trip with some members of the fergus falls club. Hopefully someone may be selling an ultra sport 40, since I had a mishap with mine. If not, I will need to finish the 60 size that is on the bench. It should be a great time.

No answer to that, so only things to do in the mean time is icefish, build, and fly when warmer then 20 degrees. Guess I shoud work a bit also.

Had two nice days here, 28 degrees and calm. Got four flights in on the twist which was a first for me. That is on skis and winter flying and it was great. The skis work great! So I will be waiting for anouther nice day to do it again since the days are getting longer.

RE: GP Chapman Eagle 580 ARF .46-.81 ok for 2nd plane?
Well guys I'm no pro. Like all of us, we like planes. I started flying in 09' a Nexstar then that fall a tower trainer 40 (still have both). Then this past spring after many flights on both I started to fly the Escapade that I built over the winter. I got a 60 size 4* and a old 40 ultra sport at a swap meet. Then a older great planes 300 extra. In August I started flying the Cap and a Areo Works Extra 300. I love them all but I still have more problems landing the cap 232. I have had great help when I need it at our field and have to say great info from all you guys on RCU. And I'm like Jimmy I was buying many of the planes before I was ready to fly them but with the right help and info I am flying them all except for my new 500 viper still nevous to put it in the air. So get help when needed and fly LOTS. It is great fun and I learn something everyday.

RE: GP Chapman Eagle 580 ARF .46-.81 ok for 2nd plane?
I would have to agree with ChuckW, I fly a cap 232 and it tip stalls fast. You need to fly it to the field. NO float time. Learned the hard way and broke the landing gear. I flew the 4* 60 and the escapade for my 2nd planes and learned a ton from those. Don"t get it wrong the caps fly great but not a 2nd plane.

RE: Aeroworks Extra 300 .60-.90 questions
I'm flying the the .60-.90 extra 300 with a O.S. 75AX and a 14x6 prop and it rips. Great plane. When the DLE 20 comes out, I think i will be getting that for next summer.

RE: *** Ultra Sport Brotherhood ***
Well, I was going to wait on ordering my winter project, but after reading a few posts in sport flying I had to order my US 60 kit. I fly the heck out of the 40 size I got early this spring. So when they stop having them available, I got one to build.

RE: bottom half of muffler fell off
I ordered the whole muffler. Does anyone know if the replacement is in two pieces also or one ? There was no set screw to hold the two halfs together , w8ye. I'll have to look over planes more thoroughly even the muffler after flights.

bottom half of muffler fell off
Hi all, Flying this evening (which was great) and on my 300 Extra S the bottom half of my muffler fell off in flight. Which caused a dead stick. Got in safely with the help of another flyer. The engine is the Magnum XL-120 RFS, question I have is there a quick fix or replacement as I search for the correct part. I believe the engine is no longer made. Any input would be great as I search the net and LHS tomorrow.

magnum XL-120 rfs
I just got this greatplanes EXTRA 300-S with a magnum XL-120 rfs. It has an on board glow. (first 4 stroke) I started it with standard glow driver ,as the plane has a plug on the sidefor the on board(see pic) . Got the engine warmed up and running good, took glow driver off and it stops. Start again and leave driver on it runs and idels great. Charged a single cell ni-mh 2000 mAh battery and ran it again runs good. Question I have is the norm for that engine as the engine is mounted on its side, or can a O.S type F plug solve this. Or get new battery since I do'nt belive this one I have is any good for flight.
