RE: hangar 9 P-47 60size w/Zenoah G-26?
Are you the Tony better known as Goose and not Maverick ? I had the same problem with the linkage and had to drill a new hole on the firewall.

RE: Zenoah 20 Still Cutting Off
If its surging you are probably running a little lean on the low end. Try richening the low (Shorter of the two screws) by 1/8 to 1/4 turn.Hope that helps let us know what it does.

RE: New Seagull Extra 260 180
I am not at home right now therefore can not send ypu pictures. The tank position is at the same place as the stock tank. To save weight I went with a smaller tank from one of my hangar 9 planes. I am using a steering arm mounted on the choke as a lever to open and close the choke. The spacers are made of a hard white vinyl they look like a washer and come in different thickness. You can get them at Lowes, look for them where they have vinyl bolts .

RE: New Seagull Extra 260 180
I dont know about weight differences after you add the battery . I have the same plane with a magneto Zenoah. It will fly it well but it flies a little heavy. You will have plenty of power but not unlimitted vertical. I used nylon 1/2 spacers that I bought at Lowes. You can find them in the bins with the bolts and nuts. You will enjoy your plane. I have about 100 flights on mine with no mishaps. I had to use a solid steel stab tube and add about 3 oz of weight to the tail. Hope this helps.

RE: Ultra Stick ARF Vertical Stablizer
A flyer at the field has your same plane 40 size ultra stick. He had the same problem with his vertical stab. He did not try fixing it and it flyes very well the way it is. You may have to do a little trimming on your first flight but you should be able to do it with your radio. Good luck...

RE: Best Engine for Aeroworks 35cc Extra 260
I have the same plane with a Zenoah 45. The plane flyes very well eventhough the engine is on the heavy side. I went with the ZENOAH because I did not want to go with a an electronic ignition engine and have to run a separate batery.I am not a 3d type flyer . If you are, you may want to go with something bigger such as 55 size engine. My plane has unlimited vertical so for my type of flying is plenty. Hope this helps.

RE: zenoah G20ei - hesitation in the AIR
Try richening up the high end about 1/8 to 1/4 of a turn. Sounds like the motor is going lean up in the air. The high end adjustment is the one further away from the motor. Hope that helps. Let us know what it does by richening the motor.

RE: New Seagull Extra 260 180
To fastened the cowl on my planes I use Sullivan's Gold N Rods. The package comes with two yellow rods. I then cut a piece if the rod to about 1/2 inch and drill a hole on the fuselage making sure to hit the firewall plywood, then I super glue the Gold N Rod into the hole. You can then screw a screw into the Gold N Rod as many times as you want and it will never strip out. An old flying buddy at the flying field taught me that trick. Hope it helps you out...

RE: New Seagull Extra 260 180
My Seagull extra has a Zenoah 26 with a 17x6 prop. To install the motor I used 1/2 inch nylon stand offs . I used the same thrust angle as is built ont the plane. I had to change the rear stab to a solid steel one and add an additional three ounces of weight to the tail. The plane flies rock solid and has about 70 flights on it with no mishaps. It could use a little more power but I am not a 3D flyer. Prior to using the Zenoah I had a 180 Saito on the plane and it flew very well but the Saito was making me broke. It woul go through a gallon of glow fuel in about 12 flights. The Zenoah uses about half the amount of fuel plus gas is cheaper than glow fuel. Also no messy clean ups. Hope this helps. P.S. Another club member like the combo so much that he also got the same combo.

RE: New Seagull Extra 260 180
It should fly it just fine with a Saito 150. I first tried a Saito 180 on it and it was a rocket. I then wanted to go to gas and switch to a Zenoah 26 and it also moves the plane around very well but not with the authority of the Saito. If you are a sport flyer you will be happy with the combo. Hope that helps...

RE: Seagull Yak
I have the old paint scheme with a Saito 125. It moves the plane very well. I am not into 3d but it has more than enough power for sport flying. For the money its a great buy. Go for it.

RE: Which plane for a Zenoah G45
I have a Aeroworks extra 260 35cc size and I am using a Zenoah 45. I had to add some extra weight in the back.(had to change the stabilizer tube for a solid steel one). The plane flies great with plenty of power. I have a friend that has a Hangar 9 Extra 260 27% with a Zenoah 45. The plane also flies very well but I prefer mine. Hope this helps.

RE: seagull 46 size edge 540 anyone have one
just built one for a friend and we used a Y harness for the elevators rather than mixing two channels it works fine. He is using a Saito 82 and we had to add about 4z of weight to the front. We balance the blane at 3.7 inches from the wing tip and the plane flies rock solid. Hope that helps....

RE: somthing for the saito 125a
I have the Aeroworks Yak and I am using a Saito 150. I tried the 125 first and it flew OK but not enough power for 3D. You would also have to add some weight up front if you use the Saito 125. I would recomend getting another 540 Seagull edge or try the 90 size Seagull Yak. I have both and they are great flying and are very affordable. Hope that helps.

RE: Seagull extra 260 180 gas conversion
Rather than using a tie strap I would get some thin wire and twist it around the tube tightly. I am afraid that with time te tie strap may deteriorate with the gas . I would also solder some solder over the end of the brass lines ,that will make it harder for the tubing to come off. Hope that helps. Doc.....

RE: servos power
My Seagull Extra is the 180 size. It flies great and has more than enough power with the Zenoah 26. I am not a 3D flyer however the vertical climb is unlimited. For the money I think its a steal. Hope that helps.

RE: servos power
I have the 60 size Seagull Edge as well as the Yak.On the Edge I have a Saito 100 and on the Yak a Saito 125. The Extra would fly more like the Edge.I think you will enjoy any of those planes. Regarding servos I am using JR 821 or Spectrum 821 they are the same servos and have more than enough torque.I also have the Seagull Extra 260 with a Zenoah 26 and I am also using the same servos. The latter is my favorite plane because of its size and power. Hope this helps...

RE: servos power
The torque of the servo has nothing to do with the weight of the plane. If your plane only weighs 4kg a servo that has 80 oz of torque at 6 volts has more than enough torque to control the elevators. I use servos with 72 oz of torque at 4 volts on all my planes under 120 size. On larger planes with larger control surfaces I will use servos that have 120 oz of torque. Hope that helps. By the way what plane are you going to use those servos?

RE: New Seagull Extra 260 180
A month ago I replaced the Saito 180 with a Zenoah 26 (magneto type). I am using a APC 17X6 prop and the plane seems to like that combo. I cannot tell much difference between the Saito and the Zenoah in power. I had to change the stabilizer wing tube with a solid steel one but the added weight does not seem to have any effect on the flying. So far very impressed with the combo and little by little will be changing my planes to gas. I am still on my first gallon of gas and have flown about 20 times,by now I would have used more than a gallon of nitro. Overall I am very impressed with the Seagull anf for the money it cant be beat. I hope Horizon comes out with a Yak or Edge in the 120 size.

RE: New Seagull Extra 260 180
Just flew minwe today with a Zenoah 26 magneto and even though I had to cahange te stab wing tube to a solid steel one and still had to had about 3 oz ,the plane flew great with power very similar to the Saito 180 that I before. Verticals are not unlimited but for sport flying it was more than enough. It is plenty fast with a 17x8 apc prop. The landings were a little hot so I will change to a 17x6.Overall very impressed with the Zenoah and it had more power than I expected.

Thanks for the reply. You were correct about the carb spacer a groove that has to match the hole on the carb. I turned the carb spacer 180 degrees and reinstalled the carb. Now th emotor runs great. Thanks Again.

Zenoah g26 magneto
I have a new G26 Zenoah and cannot get the motor to run at full throtle. I have played with the carb and needle sttings but of no help. I have tried screwing out the low end and the high end with only slight improvement. I cannot figure it out. I have cleaned the carb but still of no help. Because of the throtle linkage I had to turn the carb 180 degrees , would that have made a difference? I need help.....Thanks for any replies...

RE: New Seagull Extra 260 180
I am going to change the Saito 180 for the Zenoah 26.I am eager to see how she does versus my four stroke. Does anyone know if the gas tank rubber stopper that comes with the Seagull is gas resistant? I was going to switch it to a Dubro Gas stopper but the hole in the gas tank is just a bit to large for the Dubro. Wondering what the concensus is.

RE: Small rant about gassers
I have a Seagull extra 260 with a Saito 180 and the plane flies great. I have a Zenoah 26 sitting around and was wondering if using it on the Extra would be too heavy and not enough power as compared to the Saito. What do you guys think?
