RE: Gee Bee R3 30cc
My gripes about GMP has to do with the lousy customer support.I like my Gee Bee but the landing gear wire and wheel pants are a joke.If Gerry is to sell this plane and be able to stand behind it he should have looked at the landing gear set up. It is a real joke and something that should have been beefed up before this ARF hit the market. I consider myself a good flyer and have been in this hobby for over forty years and have seen some bad ARF's and some very good ones.I would rate this Gee BEE in the middle of the pack.I have spoke with Gerry when I was thinking about getting this plane and I was told that he had replacement parts and that Robart was about to come out with new retracts. Well I have spoken with Robart and they are working on the retracts for the larger Gee BEE but not for the 30cc model. So for now I am going to set My Gee Bee aside and fly my other planes that dont have landing gear problems.

RE: Gee Bee R3 30cc
I get the impression that GMP is not going to be around for long. It is sad when you call a business and all you get is an answering machine. I have left messages regarding the wheel pants but have not received a response. When I first got my Gee Bee some of the parts were missing and it took about a month to get them.I was told by Gerry that they had been send, when after two weeks of not getting them I called and he assured me that they had been shipped. He then said that he would send them again and after another week still no parts. He then blamed it on the mail and UPS loosing some of his packages. (how often does that happen?) After another week I got the parts. With that type of customer support I doubt that his business will survive.

RE: Gee Bee R3 30cc
My intention was not to throw Gerry under the bus.I can understand his problems and I hope that he can get all the details worked out.I am not complaining about paying more for the Gee Bee from GMP than if would have bought it from HK.I rather buy from Gerry than from HK and get no support.Gerry do you have any idea when the wheel pants will be in?

RE: Gee Bee R3 30cc
Nice job on your plane. I bought my Gee BEE R3 fron Giant Models and I am very happy with the airplane except that I could have bought the same plane from HobbyKing for about $140.00 less. (except for no carbon fiber spinner or wing tubes). The design of the plane is awesome and it took many hours of design, however the landing gear design must have taken about 30 minutes. The wheel pants will break and crack on the first or second flight. I know that wheel pants are always prone to stress cracks but the design of this landing gear and the thinness of the fiberglass is ridiculous.T make things worse Giant Models does not have replacement wheel pants in stock. Keep us posted about how your wheel pants hold up.

RE: Giant Model Products Introduces a 50cc GeeBee R3 ARF
I have the GEE BEE R3 from Giant Model Products and flew it for the first time this week. The plane flies very well, however the wheel pants are not very sturdy and took a beating after three smooth three point landings. The wire landing gear flexes and hits the thin fiberglass wheel pants and has cracked them.I need to get some new wheel pants and figure a way to reinforce the new ones.(I hear that they are on backorder).Anythoughts on how to reinforce them? Thanks

RE: AW Yak 120QB- 120AX or 160FX or DLE30
I have the AA 120 Yak with a DLE 30 and its one of my best flying planes. It has plenty of wing surface to fly this plane with the DlE. I had to cut down the firewall to use my rear carb DLE but it was not hard.If I ever crash this plane I woulg get another one and reuse my DLE. Hope this helps.

RE: GOING GAS FRIST TIME
I have had several CRRC motors and they are ok,however I have since started using DLE motors and they are more powerful and easier to start. I would suggest the DLE 30. Hope this helps.

RE: Seeking Opinions on Aeroworks YAK 54 ARF 1.20 QB
When I first got that airplane I bolted a Saito 150 and the plane flew very well. (My Favorite). Because of the cost of nitro I removed the motor and have installed a DLE 30 on it. Now it really moves and has more than enough power. Still my best flying plane.Hope this helps.

Try richening the low end a tad.I have had the same problem with my motors. If the low end is to lean it will also affect how much fuel it will get at full throtle. Let us know what happens. Good luck

RE: My parkzone HABU
Thanks for the replies. I gather from the posts that I would be better with the Habu. I fly on grass and would not be using the landing gear. I have seen some flyers using a catapult to launch the planes. Can the Habu be hand launched or Would I be better of using the catapult?.

Take the carb cover off the side with the diaphragm. It is probably stuck. Remove the diaphragm and install it back on.My Dle 55 had the same problem. Hope that helps. Let us know how it works out.

RE: Older Ultimate Bipe Tips
I have the same plane but in the yellow scheme color. I am also using a DLE 55 and it is one of my best flying airplanes. You will have to cut the firewall back unless you want to cut a whole to recess the carb. There is a forum that talks extensively on this plane.
