RE: G20Ei is the best!!
I am with ghostrider on this. I have exactly the same problem. on a H9 ultrastick. There is no way it is over heating. I landed it the other day and stuck my tongue to it after 10 min of hard flying and on final it died ( reduced to idle) . ran over and it was warm to to the tongue test. heck , eben to muffler was just warm to the tongue test.[:D] This happens nearly every time i fly this plane. and karrolh i am having great luck with the 15-8 apc but i am going to test a 16-6 apc and a 15-6 top flight wood tomorrow . i will richen to lsn just a tad to see if it helps. how come no one runs this carb with a air filter? do we run a weedeater without a filter? No! I think I will try an air filter as well. Also something to think on these engines as props go. I was talking to a 20+ yr lawnmower repair man the other day.(this guy knows his stuff on small engines) He said these small engines run better with a little weight on them to help keep the engine running. like a fly wheel . especially at low rpms. that may be the reason for karrolh's better luck with a 16-8 prop. what do you all think on this?

RE: which country had the best fighter planes of WWII
Alan fro the UK said it all. We (The USA) did not do it all by ourselves. Thanks to all the other countries!!! Germany in my opinion had the best. The US planes came from desiners from countries like Russa and Germany with a little help from the other mix of people who make up the USA . I will have to say Germany.

RE: What Engine for a H9 Ultra Stick 60
Well I got several flights on mine with the g20. All I can say is WOW!!!!!!!!!! unbeleivable . I never thought that the weight of a gas engine on this plane would work but after cutting 2 1/2 inches off the nose and moving the servos to the rear everything placed on or near the cg it ballanced spot on. zero added weight. with an APC 15-8 and no flaps I can close my eyes and land [;)]. it will fly to the moon or as far as i can see. great combo will have alot of fun with her.[:D]

RE: Changing out Hitec radio crystals
Looks like one needs to leave the transmitter alone. However on this transmitter, the crystal is very much accessible. Which brought me to this question. Pop the crystal cover off and the crystal comes out with it.

Changing out Hitec radio crystals
I got a new in box Hitec 6 channel computer radio the other day at a swap meet , channel 49. Can I safely change my futaba receivers crystals (channel 59) to 49 and they still work right ? Can I change the crystal in the radio to say channel 59 or something like that?

Great Planes 81" Piper Cub
Well, thought I would give Great Planes 2 thumbs up on the Piper Cub. For an ARF it is built like a tank. I had one big scrape when I was trying to figure out how to fly a Cub. Then I had another not so bad one today and broke a prop, but it took a good lick. Thought I would pass this info along in case anyone is thinking on gfetting this plane for Christmas. Its a great plane!!! ( no pun)[:D]

RE: What Engine for a H9 Ultra Stick 60
I just mounted a zenoah g20 in mine . I cut 2.5 inches off the nose. tank set on cg along with EI and a 2700 6v mah nickel metal battery pack. moved servos to rear and mounted a 1500 4.8v mah nmh and receiver where the servos would have been mounted . perfick balance and weighs somewhere around 7.5 - 8 lbs. this is weighing on bathroom scales with my son and subtracting his weight to get 7.5 lbs. I am going to try a 15-8 apc to see how its going to work. hope to maiden it this weekend. I am having major probs getting my futaba 7cap programed for all the things this plane can do. however I have the basics down to test fly.

RE: What is you favorite 30 min epoxy?
Go to Hobby Lobby (not the rc store, the other one) and look in the plastic model section. There you should find some epoxy in the 5 and 30 min range as well as ca glue. Works great and it has a good price. Their ca glue works very good as well.

RE: Zenoah G26
On the bottom of the carb you will see a brass knob that sticks out and is part of the throttle assembly on the oppisite side of the throttle is the half moon with several holes. if you go to the local hobby shop and get a nose wheel steering arm and grind a flat spot on the brass knob you can attach the steering arm to it and have a nice throttle control arm. See attached pics this is done on a zenoah g20 but should be the same as a g26

RE: Can You Substitue Poplar For Spruce?
Popular is a very brittle wood. Spruce has alot more flex to it . However in the model airplane world Popular is a good alternative to spruce. It is far stronger than any wood that is surrounding it .

RE: Dynaflight Giant Super Decathlon 89"
No [8|] , Mrs. Clause would not have to know about that small accessory. How would a DA /DL 50 work in this plane? If I got that motor I could use it in some thing else later down the road. It only weighs a bit more that 3 lbs. I know it is way overkill but I like to think ahead. May have to think about custome landing gear. Oh well I guess I will get the plane do a nice build thread and worry about the motor later. Is most fokes using the supplied cowl or getting one from fiberglaass specialities?

RE: Dynaflight Giant Super Decathlon 89"
I am going to order this kit soon maybe in the next few weeks. I hope Tower will send out a good coupon before Christmas .That is what I am waiting for. If no good coupon comes up I guess I will go ahead and get the kit. But needless to say I will get it soon. I may do a build thread on this kit as well. I guess I will get the Hobby - Lobby Sr Telemaster for the G20. Seems like the best choice for the little engine.

RE: Dynaflight Giant Super Decathlon 89"
I found that thread and read through it last nite . Alot of good info there. I guess I will go ahead and get the kit and worry about the motor at a later date. I sort of wish I didn't get the g20, not a lot of stuff to put it on that don't make the plane too heavy. This plane will have smoke on it . Some of the guys put a g26 on their plane but not too much info on the performance with that set up. I want it to have a bit more power but not unlimited vertical. I would like a happy medium. Is the g36 way over kill?

That's a fantastic build. I guess I am going to place an order tomorrow for one. That will be my christmas present to myself. Is the plane going to come out on the heavy side? What are your estimates on this? Keep posting I will be following the build.

I know everyone is putting the g26 on this plane how do you think the g20 will fly this bird ? Almost got enough saved for the plane. It will be mine in a few weeks. I am also thinking smoke on this plane. I have seen planes of this type with smoke and it looks cool.

RE: The Scratch Plane featured in Fly Rc
I have thought about installing landing gear and may yet. you dont need it for take offs just landing so you really dont need anything but a piece of 1/8 inch lite ply shaped into a tail wheel . Yes the wing is flat and flies great. the rolls is real nice. The pulse will be a super plane. very close to a 4 star. it should fly great.
