RE: Official RCSkydiving questions & help
ORIGINAL: roknHS How do you guys store your chutes between skydiving sessions? The longer my chute stays packed, the more it seems to resist unfolding and spreading out. Do you hang your open chute during idle time and then fold and pack just before a jump? Would a product like Cling Free (anti-static) or possibly talcum powder help the material to unfold?
You just gave the answer to the question , never store your chute packed in the backpack ,talcum powder is a solution only if used the real stuff ,not the nice smelling stuff ! And use it sparse just sprinkle it , not too much or your chute turned into a sticky rag . The best way is hang it out in a dry clean room with a plastic bag over it, don't close the bag ! separated from the jumper hanging on the lines . I store them that way from the beginning and my oldest chute is 30 years old and still in top condition . But there are maybe colega that's have a much better way to store a chute for the winter, I'm the first to listen ! Sheers ,Jules

RE: Low Posting Count
Hi guys , Over here in Belgium it's not that different from the US ,we don't have a skydiving rally in 2012 ,we are luck that in Holland however the skydiver fire is burning higher ,they have planed several rally's in 2012 from were we hope to take some trophy home [:)] The economic situation is hitting the EU hard now ,so we ( I can only speak for myself ) have to downsize on going to the German skydiving rally's, driving 300 or 400 mile is a costly thing with a fuel price of 7$ a gallon . We are lucky that our Dutch friends invite us to their test and practice jumps they have almost every Saturday and Sunday, so we can keep the fingers flexible [:D] Thanks for that Girls and Guys ! The Dutch skydiving Girls are really good ,you have to watch them, they are real competition [;)] That's the real difference with the US, over here rc skydiving is a family thing .

Over here in the EU the situation is not much better , for the same reason we have decided not to participate in the remaining Muncie rally . We have pleasant memories of the many " P..P.. " [:D] Skydiving Rally's We had the honer to participate in with our American friend's .
ORIGINAL: JuanF How about showing some pictures of the emergency chute set-up. Juan
While the east side of the US groans under a serious early winters Snow attack with 24 inc of snow and cutting millions of people of the electricity net , we over here in Holland and Belgium have the finest weather we could wish for end October. 68 °f and nice sunny weather . Sorry guys ,lets hope non of you is suffering to too much . The promised up date , Again we have experimented with the emergency RC Skydiver chute and again every jump turns out to go as wanted , only the on /off switch is giving trouble seems to it need's a replacement . Here are the Photo's you ask for ,the photo's are of a better quality ! Our Dutch friend Gerard , was again the jump plane pilot ,the Lady on the Photo is his wife Dorie she is RC Skydiving to and most of the time she knows better where the target is than we , on a contest she is competition to watch ! The Piper Cub Gerard is flying for a long time now has a wingspan of 2.80cm and motor is a two cylinder in V 70cc ( I don't know the brand ) I want to thank him here for his willingness to bring us time after time again to the requested drop altitude , Thanks Gerard ! RE: Experiment with a emergency chute
Well Jim to be honest I have noting contributed to this project, the honer is totally for Theo he alone has figure's out these amazing things . That you do these demo every year is making people out there aware of RC Skydiving . Most RC Flyer's have never seen a successful RC Skydive they remember only the dirt dives from the old day's. We do demo's maybe one's or twice a year , its hard to fit in in to a air show with Skydivers, and all these expensive airplanes that's always a little deterrent, you always have that in the background to worry about . And yeah in Muncie they ware lucky we ware not there[:(] Don't tell them we wanted to give them a chance to be the lucky one's [:D] I don't know if we gone make it to the next year's Muncie Rally ,you never know want's waiting around the next corner ! Oh and you are not preparing for a winter's sleep I guess ,with these southern temperatures you have ? See yeah , Jules

I don't think he want to keep it secret for our Skydivers friends over here , he is not working for the CIA FBI ...TSA ....KGB........MOSAT .......Nhaaa! he retired some years ago ( long ago )[:D] Jules

Experiment with a emergency chute
Hi Guys , While some of you are preparing for the RC Skydiver's winter sleep , we are take benefit of the extreme good weather we have the last weeks ( especially Theo ) . We have lot's of jump's with his latest Experiment ,a emergency chute for the RC Skydiver . First we go up ( you have to [:)]) then Gerard the drop plane pilot kicks us out of his Piper, the skydiver make's the normal 3sec freefall ,then deployment of the main chute "fully steerable" left right, flying a few turns then drop the main chute make a short freefall and deploy the emergency chute "full steerable " and landing most of the time in front of Theo's feet . I find it amazing that Theo was able to make it all work time after time , after a few jumps we found it quite common and suddenly we Realized we had not made any photos , so the last jump of a smashing day I was able to take some photo's I want to share with you . ( the photo's are not of a good quality but that is due to the limitation of the camera) Have a nice weekend guys , Jules

RE: World Record?
ORIGINAL: GaryV This came from the rule book. Landing ''Outside'' 1200 pts 0 pts Landing ''in place'' 700 pts 0 pts
Hi Gary , Your translation is not bad at all ! The 1200 pts is for landing outside the defined area . The 700pts is for landing inside the defined ( marked with a brightly colored string or tape ) In this area is also regulated , that the jumper's feet should touch the ground " first" (if not 150 penalty pts) and the front of the canopy must face against the wind in a 90° angel, the vector is marked with a brightly colored band ,if not 150 penalty pts ) The wind vector or direction to be defined before the jumper leaves the aircraft .
ORIGINAL : Gary V I see Theo finished in first place.............for the Belgians, huh, I guess that puts you last in that catagory, sorry I couldn't resist,
[:@] I hardly can resist to give comment on some very selective sensitive issue's , I bite my tongue, but its not working ![sm=47_47.gif] Nah they just had more luck this time [&:] #^{@||´`|&é"'(§è [:D] [:D] Jules

RE: World Record?
ORIGINAL: GaryV Pieter, Good pic, Hope you guys are having fun, waiting on an update from Jules.
[&:] [&:][:@][:@][:@][:@][&o][&o] Is that saying enough for my update Gary ? Probably not , First of all we had lots of fun , that is the most important thing . The weather was the worse than we could have had, and we had it ! For weeks the temp's in Germany ware warm nice and dry , the contest is coming and the bad weather is following . High winds and cold rain on Saturday, high winds on Sunday . Now the results ,I don't blame my bad results on the weather, more on the lack of practice ,I went to the contest with only 16 jumps on the counter for the entire year . One jump 31 cm and the rest 1200/700/1200/700/700 . (in Germany the maximum number of jumps is 6 , in the USA, unlimited that's makes a difference ) Finally ended as nr 46 of the 71 competitors , I am happy I was not the last one to turn out the light [:D] Think that this was the worst contest I had in years . I left the contest on Sunday before the mass jump's and awards ceremonial ,caused by health problems ( that old back ) So to be honest , It's maybe not so bad that I can not make it to Muncie this year after all, it saves me the embarrassment of failure[:)] I may hope you have good weather in September in Muncie , Good luck to you all ! and probably see you guys next year again .[:D] Jules
